For the first photos of the new You thread, I present the newly bespectacled (and somewhat burned) Midnight Son...

I took this the day I bought my camera (like, a month ago). Sorry it took so long with the uploading and such, but when it comes to getting around to doing things that aren't really required of me I kind of put it off until I get REALLY bored one day. I also really hate taking pictures of myself.

Please excuse the nasty state of my hair, it was a busy day and I hadn't taken a shower in... well... let's just say too long.

Edit: Arguskos looks kinda like a guy I knew in high school. Not exactly like, but close.

Audacity is freeware and not half bad.

My mac has a built-in mic that's not half bad. But, then, it's not half good either. Someone was recommending performance recording quality mics last thread though, IIRC.

I have to say though, seeing everybody's reactions when I come to school with 10 inches and 2 pounds gone from my head is always amusing. :smallamused:

Sidenote, though you can't see all of them, in that photo I am in fact wearing five pocketwatches (Including the one which is a necklace).

I don't think words can express how much win this picture is. Seriously, awesome costume.

And very long fingers.

People have commented on my long fingers before. They always ask if I play the piano or another instrument and when I say I don't they tell me that I should because I have "musician's hands." This is not an isolated occurance either. I used to think it was wierd, like people commenting on my good posture, but I have since gotten used to it. Old people see a younger person that's more like what they think we all should be and they just have to say something.

Anyway, back to the voice recording. Though I lack a microphone, I direct you to this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17w0SjuNj6E) video. This was the musical at my highschool senior year. I'm the dude in the middle with the red pants, and also the soloist. The end's a bit flat, and you miss the part with my extra campy French/Jewish accent (since it kinda faded as the song went on). Also, despite the title, it's "Canaan Days" not "Canon Days." :P My friend's little sister uploaded this (as she points out in her little note, if you've got notes enabled in YouTube), so it couldn't be helped. And if you were wondering, the random pointing thing I did was more a visual joke for the audience, as I cut off the pit and brought them back in, breaking the 4th wall. Because that's what this forum teaches me. :D

Also, awesome epic showdown pictures of my friend and I at like 3AM.

Whatchootalkin'bout Glucose? You're totally fine looking. Not sure I totally agree with you on your hair length, but I do think you'd look good - and should be able to get away - with it somewhere around your earlobes and your chin.

... I will PM you about the puppy. Dogs make me break. I am not joking when I say that I will be up for the next three hours blabbling about dogs and puppies and I'll even be saying the words in baby voices to myself. Even now I'm only barely avoiding writing a thirteen page goo goo over the Great Pyrenees rescue dogs I met at Picnic Day and found out that my good friend Katie doesn't like dogs.

Jacklu: I can't see what was altered, so the alterations were well-done. No "rental tux" look for you! :smallwink: It gives you a certain gravitas that a leather duster would not have.

Aziraphale: Kindly stop shaving. Now. This instant. Or, since you don't want girls chasing you, don't. Either way's fine.

arguskos: You need to. . .balance the head and chin fur somehow. Could shave. Could trim the hair instead. Also I may yoink your hat storage idea and be grateful for it since my ideas on hatboxes are not working.

Pocketa: I've had mornings like that. . . .No, I like that faceless photo, truly. It seems like something I'd see in ghost_warlock's family reunion picture frame, judging by his avatars.

SMEE: KITTY! Kitty nibbly wanna clear off its perchy werchy! . . .

You know, I do like some cats. I hate my friend's cat Cosmo, but that's 'cause he's a jerk. Always pees on everything, claws at everyone... generally rude. But there are some fluffy kitties... like her cat Soot, who decided that my chest makes a very wonderful cushion.Of course he also decided my crotch made a good pillow which made it very interesting when I saw my friend reach to scratch her cat's ears and all I could see was her hand hovering above my crotch as she gave me a weird look...

That pic is three years old now. No... four. My hair is much shorter now since i needed to get a job, and I'm going to try to get some modern pics up. Let's see if i can dig up anything recent.

http://hphotos-snc3.fbcdn.net/hs498.snc3/27198_383322129332_503254332_3644613_988132_n.jpg
Me in the middle. Very good friend K I'm talking to, and that's some guy named Joel next to me.

And in case you were curious...

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash1/hs498.ash1/27198_383322139332_503254332_3644615_7763547_n.jpg
Yes, that's a unicorn on my head. Why? WHY NOT?!

I got the unicorn specifically because Joel decided that this right here:
http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs518.snc3/27198_383320879332_503254332_3644596_4221141_n.jpg
was too "gay." Apparently he didn't want to appear homosexual in front of one of the girls there because he was busy impressing her, and somehow thought that professing a love of men would be a problem?

To prove him WRONG, I decided to get a unicorn with a rainbow mane. I'll give you three guesses as to which of the two of us is currently single.Me. `ro

Since that didn't work, I decided I'd cut loose a bit afterwords. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash1/hs482.ash1/26404_385986376988_649361988_4047991_8188723_n.jpg
Of course, this means Aaron and I are going to become fast buddies. That guy screams like a girl, and I love him for it. He does it when playing Brawl, mostly. I definitely remember later that night... I drank, played Settlers, puked, then schooled him at Brawl. Fun times.

Just to prove how important lighting is (and that I am hideously unattractive), check out this pic of me at night when I haven't showered for a day!http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs228.snc3/21569_246754141988_649361988_3409577_6880633_n.jpg

My friend and I are really into card games, and I am personally quite good at Spades.

Hint: I not only won the game and the game of Spoons before it, but I won the most beautiful girl in the room who I dated for a brief time. Hint #2: that would be C for those of you who follow the drama of my life.

Finally, a goofy grin:

I had a huge crush on the girl who took this picture. She was cute and awesome and the PERFECT badminton partner. Also, it turns out, a lesbian. The moment she discovered that was a very sad day for men everywhere, but a wonderful and joyous moment for all the women of the world.

I would argue that although "they" used when referring to a known group does not explicitly include oneself, it does not necessarily exclude oneself either.

But as I said, you have a right to include yourself, so it's kind of a moot point anyway.

Woo.

Pocketa, you are truly as cute as a button. Pocketa, Van Gogh's Starry Night makes me throw up a little bit in my mouth when I see it right after seeing you. Pocketa, thou art as beautiful as a single red rose of flawless crimson crystal that's also made of honey and alabaster AT THE SAME TIME. Pocketa, you are a simultaneous sunrise and sunset over a cool glass lake within which sings a choir of angelic mermaids while cherubs smile beatifically nearby and a flying lion roars majestically as he trails across the sky in a chariot of fire and stars which he technically doesn't need because he's a flying lion but he likes to use anyway because it's comfortable and has fluffy pillows. While a mind flayer gives a thumbs up in the background.
