What is the lowest CR creature with any form of Regeneration?

Depending on which version you use or how you interpret the wording of the second one, a Curst Goblin would probably be the lowest CR one that comes to mind to me (Well, any humanoid with a CR less than one really).

Otherwise the Wang-Liang from OA is next at CR 4.

Any others that anyone cares to contribute?

In core, it's probably the troll, but that's CR 5. The Chain Devil is CR 6 and has weaker regeneration, but it's harder to stop since you need silver or good.

Well, I checked for a few books and the Fire Bat from Monster Manual II has Regeneration 5 (Cold) at CR 3. That might be the weakest one.

where are the trollblooded feats, anyways? I've been wanting to play a human character with regen for a long time

Troll-blooded is in "Dragon 319"

The list of stuff (http://community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/75882/19871954/Lists_of_Stuff) has a "Fast Healing" section with others forms of regeneration.

Edit: I be pirated it seems

Also at CR 1, any level 1 dragon shaman can have fast healing (up to half of max HP).

Yes. The ability to heal isn't the same as the ability to get up after taking a maximized lightning bolt to the face. It just isn't the same.

Mephits have Fast Healing at CR 3, in certain circumstances.

Fast healing doesn't convert things to nonlethal.

Um, that would take a few minutes. Party will likely be gone unless making camp.

Fast healing doesn't convert things to nonlethal.

And doesn't allow you to regrow severed limbs or damaged organs.

And in most cases doesn't keep functioning even when the creature's HP is below Zero and even -10.

No, but the combination rules. A lvl 1 human dragonshaman with toughness and trollblooded gets up fast.

This got me to think of the craziest thing ever.

Regeneration X/nonlethal.

How ma is THAT? anything not nonlethal turns into nonlethal. its like being unkillable, but you can be knocked out for a long long time.

it has been done, at some length in a few cases (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=101587&highlight=ikea).

I only have codex 1. What does that feat do precisely?

Rapid regeneration has only 1 prerequisite: that you have regeneration. it increases your regeneration by 1, and you can take it multiple times. trollblooded, with a pair of flaws for rapid regeneration twice can net you Regeneration 3 at first level

Now get a binderlvl to bind Naberius for fast ability healing (1 in each score/round, 1 in each score/minute for drain) and you are golden.

All you've really done is turn all damage into non-lethal damage that your regeneration can't even heal, meaning you've made yourself into a screaming target for suffocation damage or just being locked in a room to starve to death.

And this gets even worse in Pathfinder where instead of Regen not healing the specific damage type it instead shuts down your Regen for one round.
