A fun feat in a game that places a high value on information:

Educated Guess

Prerequisite: Int 14

Whenever you fail a knowledge check by 5 or less, or fail a spellcraft check to identify a spell being cast or identify a spell already in place, you remember two pieces of information or think of two spells. One is the correct answer you were seeking, the other is incorrect and misleading, but you do not know which is which. This feat can still apply if you were partially successful on a knowledge check, but you only gain the one correct answer for any information you reached the normal DC of.

Normally I'd complain that ability score requirements are always odd, but... it seems fitting. Not sure why.
Must think... +2 modifier, 2 sevens...
Very interesting feat.

EDIT: Not quite sure if it's worth a whole feat slot in most games, though. Perhaps as a house rule for anybody with the requisite Intelligence.

Feat? No.

Skill trick? I will guess yes.

Agree on the skill trick idea, not worth a feat.

Feat? No.

Skill trick? I will guess yes.
Perfect example of educated guess in action.

I agree it basically sounds like just a way of implementing the knowledge checks already.
