Such as "Good always triumphs over Evil" or the "Loss of Innocence".

1. I'm not sure this is the place for this...
2. Why? To what purpose? :smallconfused:
3. Isn't that what TV Tropes is for?

Yeah, what Serpentine said. Hop on over to TVTropes - listing this sort of thing and examples of each is kind of the exact reason they exist. They do a lot more themes and tropes than just literary ones, but you can always tell which are significant in literature by scanning just how many examples there are under the "literature" heading/folder in any given trope's page.

Loss of innocence
Survival
Role of women in society
Nature vs. technology
Old vs. new (similar to above)
Power of words/stories
The effect of war
Power of love
Rebellion
Nature of madness
Exploration/realisation of oneself

And that's all for now...

You forgot the whole "The human spirit is wonderful and magical and always proves that logic can't beat a dude operating on blind instinct". That's a biggie.

Becoming one of the monsters you fight? That's the first that comes to mind, like becoming no different then you're enemy. Losing your moral high ground. etc...

Boo! Hiss! I wanted to be the one to say that! :smalltongue:

Curiously enough, this discussion still lacks a link to the actual site. (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Motifs)

Life is painful, and cruel, but individual shards of humanity can persevere.
Life is inane and joy must come from realising that swiftly.
Growing up.
High school is hell.
Men really hate women and all women really hate men, but love somehow prevails.
A QUEST!
