And Erin looks around as they arrive, taking everything in.

Grant walks towards the backyard.

I think it is in the back.

Erin follows. "So, just how powerful is this thing? Are we talking Doily of Ultimate Cosmic Power levels here?"

Erin falls quiet, and follows...

They reach an area in the backyard that seems like they need to dig there.

Erin grins a bit. "I have a better idea than digging..."

Time for Intangibility Abuse!
As she leans forwards and, turning her hands intangible, goes to reach into the ground.

The grin vanishing as she remembers the last time she did this.

She will probably be able to feel that the box is very heavy, and the size of a person. :smalleek:

Erin shakes her head.
"Nope, I can handle it."
...and is really having flashbacks to hoisting Toby's coffin now. :smalleek:
As she carefully goes to phase whateveritis up to the surface.

...assuming it can be turned intangible, anyway.

It can along with what is inside of it. When she lifts it, she will probably see that it is covered in chains, and all locked with a big padlock.

Yeah, that does not seem to be very...Scary?

"...I almost expect it to be ticking," Erin observes, as she sees the tropealiciously traditional evil-item storage device. :smalltongue:

Well... Given our combined luck, it is either an evil version of Tobias back for revenge or my insane teacher.... Maybe someone else.

Erin shakes her head. "Well, you're the one who's gonna open it."

Grant gets to work on breaking the lock.

Did you know that I like dogs but my brother likes cats, and then my other brother likes birds but my sister likes hamsters.

"...fascinating," Erin says, shaking her head.

He breaks the lock and the chain turns into dust.

Erin starts charging up an ectoblast in one hand behind her back, just in case.

The box top flies into the air and an old man steps out and dusts himself off, he looks at Grant who freezes.

Hello, my first creation.

And so Erin brings the glowing green ball o' doom in her hand around from behind her back.

"You have five seconds to explain," she says.

I invented his whole kind, their leaders had a contract with me to create the best soldier possible. They are prone to going insane though. He is my first. Though the person he refers to as his mother trapped me down there.

[The Bushranger]

"And how do I know you're not evil then?" Erin asks, bluntly.

[DoomITP]

Oh, I am.

He says just as bluntly.

Now, I must warn you that I can kill at least one of you if you keep me from escaping.

"And I can warn you that it won't be me, and you won't escape at all."

Erin's voice is now quite flat, matter-of-fact, and cold...

"So be a good little Jack and get back in your box."

The green ball of energy is turning blue.

Grant doesn't bother talking to him and attacks him with his strongest attack, which the old man stops with one hand.

You really think that I would make something stronger than myself?

"Oh, it's not him you need to worry about..."

The blue ball of energy is now in both hands.
And, it's growing.

"I just have one question: are you a god?"

Yes, she just quoted Ghostbusters. :smalltongue:

He says before attacking her with a bolt of dark energy that is much stronger than Erin probably thinks it will be.

The bolt of dark energy slams into Erin!

...or, more precisely, into her shields.

A shimmering, scintillating sphere of green energy flaring into existiance, and seeming to absorb the dark energy. :smalleek:

"...wrong answer!

...HADOKEN!!!"

The old man seems to have moved during the light show, he should be behind her.

Silly girl.


He shall try to stab her in the back with a knife he seemed to have had hidden.

Alas, Erin's senses are better than that, so she spins, dodges, curses at having burnt her most powerful attack, and aims a one-two-three volley of glowing green punches. At head, chest, and...well, lower. :smalleek:

Each punch is at 'HULK SMASH' levels of force.

He says, as he moves to the side.

I would be more worried than you are now. I'm not even trying.

He then unleashes one of his most powerful attacks, which is a big shockwave that should send her flying.

Indeed, Erin goes flying.

...

As in, once she's knocked off the ground, she quickly recovers, and is flying, hovering in the air.
And looking mighty pissed.
Is that a hint of red in her eyes? :smalleek:

"Me? Out of my mind? I've been accused of that before...but as for you, you have no idea what you're dealing with here, are you? Just be glad you're dealing with me and not my brother. Now, I'll give you one last warning: if you value your life, back in the box."

I would not be supprised. And if my records are to be believed you are with a young girl about half your age?

How he knows that? He must have access to Grant's memories, though he won't get any new ones unless he goes back in the box.

"Why, of course. Because we love each other. Which is, I might add, something you'll clearly never get the chance to feel. Bored now."

And she sends a blast squarely at his feet. One capable of incinerating a skyscraper.

Old guy is getting annoyed, shifting to an alternate plane until the attack ends, while Grant is trying to release his own fully power.

Hey watch it! I need to hold still for this!

He says before returning the favor with an attack of similar power.

And once again the attach hits Erin's shielding ability, this time the green shields shifting more torwards yellow-orange, reddish for an instant?, before fading. "Every time you hit me with dark energy," she says, "you give me more energy to work with!"

She might or might not be bluffing...

"Grant, need me to throw you at this joker?!"

Ah yes but I have mastered the art of manipulating this energy. If you try to hit ME with it, you will find that it will do nothing.

SHUT UP! This...Does not come easy.

His wings appear, his arms are pitch black and his fingers become claws.

...and Erin glares at their opponent.
"Fine. Eat this."

She throws out her hands..and starts forming a green prism-like cage around the Mad Scientist!

So tell me, how does it feel to know that people most likely think you are a freak for being with a girl who is not only half your age, but underage as well? A complete freak? As if the anger management issues you have were seemingly bad enough.

This guy knows how to get people upset.

Grant's tail appears and he is almost done changing.

Erin clenches a fist, and tries to telekinetically rip out the fellow's tongue. :smalleek:

She shall find that her spell does not work. His own shield stops her.

Did I touch a nerve? Oh I'm sorry, freak. Trust me, I know freaks, I created him afterall.

Grant only needs ten more seconds.

Er...no. Her own shield doesn't stop her spells.
Plus, it isn't a spell.

Erin stalks forwards, black energy starting to crackle around her clenched fists.

He has his own anti telekenetic field.

I bet she does not love you either. She is a goddess of lust after all. Maybe she thinks you just put on the best show, and as soon as you become old or ugly, off she goes to someone else.


Grant is done transforming and flies towards the Scientist.

Now, freaks one and two, who wants to die first? Because honestly, if you attack me the way you are, someone is going to die and they are not me.

"Oh, screw it."
Erin lunges right through the shield of hers, aiming to wrap her hands around his scrawny neck!

[DoomITP]

He ducks at the last second and tries to ram his knife into her stomach.

Is it a ghost-touch knife?

If not, it hits...nothing at all.

If so, it cuts into her, spilling green ectoplasm, as she lunges past him. :smalleek:

Yeah, he is a paranoid scientist, don't you think he would see that sort of thing coming. Green stuff gets on his lab coat.

Really now, this was my good lab coat. I don't need freak on it.

Grant is flying up to the side, slashing his claws at him, which sends the scientist flying to the ground, where he stands and then raises his knife again.

I. Am not. A FREAK."

Oh dear.

He made her angry.

He won't like her when she's angry....

And she lunges again, grabbing for his ankle.

Her hand crackling black.

Yes you are. You were and always will be. You will never have anything positive or healthy to contribute to anyone.

She will be able to grab him but she will find that with her grabbing his ankle he should be able to ram his knife into her back.

[The Bushranger]

And Erin is stabbed by the knife, although she twists to be at a shallow angle.

And the moment her hand touches him, he'll feel the most painful feeling he can imagine. Magnified by a hundred. As the crackling black energy starts trying to destroy what he's made of.

His soul, if he has one. Himself, if not.
This is the attack her 'brother' swore to never, ever use... :smalleek:

He takes a pill and he starts to turn to dust.

He escapes in the wind! :smalleek:

Erin slams her hand down on the ground.

The ground within 5 feet turns to dust.

...then though she starts composing herself.

Grant still in evil form walks up to her.

Are you okay? Don't worry, he can't hide forever.


He then offers her his right hand(He untransformed his hands so now they are normal.)

Erin looks up, her own eyes still almost glowing red.
"He'll pay, for what he said...."

She does take the hand up though.

He slowly goes back to normal.

Don't worry... He will. I lived with him at one point you know. It hurts, the stuff he says I mean, but you know, after a few years you get used to it. But you don't say that sort of thing to a five year old.

"Yes. And you don't say that about someone's lover either."
Erin clenches her fist, and greenish-black energy crackles around it.

Grant will try and calm her down. Whatever it takes, huggles, talking for hours, or anything else nessicary.

[The Bushranger]

Giving her a few minutes does the trick. :smalltongue:
As Erin's eyes finally fade back to their normal color, and she sighs.

Are you okay?

"...I'll be OK," Erin admits, shaking her head. "Once I go find Angela and let her know I care..."

Which has already happened. Dang continuity! :smalltongue:

Grant makes a small face.

Okay... Now, why don't we go back to HALO, I have some information on him that might help us.

Erin sticks her tongue out at the face.
Then sighs.
"Probably a good idea, there..."

Erin might get mauled by the vengeful ghost of continuity on the way there though. :smalltongue:
