There is a door at D-1, and another at D-7. There are vending machines in the room, with a notice that you can use these precisely once.

A new day a new home. Let's find me some things to kill. Ivy looks around and scratches her chin, after that she opens the doors.

Saph
2010-06-04, 05:41 PM
Which doors do you want to open?

Duskranger
2010-06-04, 05:43 PM
All doors, but especially the one in the D-line , in the order of placing (D1 before D7). This to see if there's any light there. And hey Saph, welcome as my DM

Saph
2010-06-04, 05:45 PM
I was expecting Thelas to take over, but hey. Good to see you again. :smallwink:

The door at D1 opens into a 5' wide corridor filled with water, running east-west.

Duskranger
2010-06-04, 05:47 PM
Is there light? And so did I, he enjoyed killing my last two chars

Saph
2010-06-04, 05:49 PM
Dimly lit. Enough to see, just about.

Thelas
2010-06-04, 09:10 PM
Can't go out for dinner without someone assuming I'm not DMing or something...
*grumble grumble*
Nah, thanks Saph.
But I will probably be taking over.

Saph

Or if you want, we can tag-team this one. I like working with other DMs, it's fun. :smallamused:

Saph
2010-06-05, 03:23 AM
Thelas
Nah, you two seem to get on pretty well. Besides, I've got two Floor 3s to do, it's much simpler for me if I only have to keep up one set of notes.

Duskranger
2010-06-05, 04:58 AM
Anyway I go west, walking over the water (I love my cerulean sandals :P)

Thelas
2010-06-05, 06:32 AM
Thelas

Saph and TS

...
I need to talk to TS, it looks like, because I'm supposed to have the DM notes for all the floors that anyone other than TS is DMing, I'm pretty sure, and unless I'm missing something, I was never sent 3F notes.
So, TS? What's happened?

It runs for 35 ft before turning south. Will you continue south?

Saph
2010-06-05, 06:35 AM
Thelas
TS sent me the 3rd-floor notes so that I could DM Terran and Jarian. I don't think there are any other 3rd-floor characters that need a DM at the moment, though.

Duskranger
2010-06-05, 06:43 AM
Yes, but before I do I draw my sword, ready my shield and get ready to get down and dirty.

Thelas
2010-06-05, 08:15 AM
You head south 105 ft, then step onto sand and continue another 15 ft south.
It turns east.
Continue?

Saph

TS says he just forgot to send them to me, I have the notes now.
Also, congratulations on making TS swear on Skype chat. You can figure out why yourself.

Duskranger
2010-06-05, 08:18 AM
Sure have nothing better to do. By the way I take 10 on my hide for a 22 and am taking 10 on my move silently for a 20.

Saph
2010-06-05, 08:18 AM
Thelas
yes, yes I can. Have fun!

Thelas
2010-06-05, 08:34 AM
Okay, it goes 15 ft east and turns south.

You should really give me standard operating procedures instead of making me tell you all of this.

Saph:

Mainly just to continue the little bit of paranoia from all the spoilers.
Also, shouldn't you use fire emblem music for Titania or something?
(Yes, I have permission to carry on our little conversation in Dusk's IC thread from TS.)

Duskranger
2010-06-05, 08:36 AM
Standard operating prcedure: shield ready, sword in hand, move silently and hide taking 10 (for 20 and 22).
Moving along until I read something more interesting (like a door, a room, a broadening of the hall).

Saph
2010-06-05, 08:36 AM
Thelas
I actually looked up the Fire Emblem levelup music on Youtube, but it was too short. I'm running out of FF victory fanfares, though. :smalltongue:

Saph

You have, let's see...
13 main games, tactics, TA, TA2, FFCC (no idea how many there are)...
Yeah, I think you'll have enough.
Unless you think you'll actually make it to L18+?
And I wonder what Dusk thinks we're talking about.

10 ft south, 5 ft west, door to the south.

Duskranger
2010-06-05, 08:42 AM
Does the hallway go on or not?

If not I open the door.

Thelas
2010-06-05, 08:45 AM
Opens to the very furthest left door in room 2.
Map will be provided later as soon as I can find one.

Duskranger
2010-06-05, 08:46 AM
Look in the old thread, there was a map in that one. And I wouldn't know what room 2 is? Or where. Anyhow, what do I see?

Saph
2010-06-06, 08:01 AM
OK, here's the closest map I can find:

http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/9449/nedfloor2room2.jpg (http://img29.imageshack.us/i/nedfloor2room2.jpg/)

You've just come out the door below the long white rectangle on the west side of the map.

Saph
2010-06-06, 03:26 PM
*poke poke*

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 02:02 AM
Sorry I was asleep, I need my beauty sleep . And some time to prepare before I can do my defense of my thesis. Anyway I walk straight ahead, keeping my take ten on my hide and move silently (for 22 and 20)

Saph
2010-06-07, 07:44 AM
Give me a location on the map to head to.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 07:45 AM
I cam out of the door most left on the map (Out of the non-visible hallway). And go south towards the star on the map (walking over the sand by the way). And like I said taking 10 on moving silently and hide.

Saph
2010-06-07, 07:52 AM
You hide as best you can (not very) and move south without incident. You reach the star. It's a notecard.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 07:54 AM
I read the notecard.

Saph
2010-06-07, 07:58 AM
"I hope you remembered a shovel."

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 07:59 AM
I start digging there with my hands since my sword is not made for digging:smallbiggrin:

Saph
2010-06-07, 08:02 AM
After about ten minutes' work, you've dug a hole deep enough to stand in and acquired several blisters, but haven't found anything interesting.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 08:04 AM
I take a look around me and if there's nothing threatening I start digging in the tile next to where I am digging.

Saph
2010-06-07, 08:10 AM
Another ten minutes and another not-very-deep hole.

This doesn't seem to be going anywhere productive, and your back is starting to hurt.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 08:13 AM
I kill the note. After that I move east, while hiding and moving silently towards the door the closest by the notecard (on the southern side)

Saph
2010-06-07, 08:15 AM
The note dies.

You reach the door.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 08:22 AM
I open the door. I hate notes that don't give me loot or xp

Saph
2010-06-07, 08:24 AM
It opens onto a 5-foot wide corridor filled with molten lava.

Floating above the lava are platforms of force, 5' square, with 5-foot gaps between each one.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 08:25 AM
I jump on the first one, than check what I can see.

Saph
2010-06-07, 08:28 AM
You step onto the first platform.

Three platforms south, the corridor meets a 4-way intersection.

Five platforms south from that, the corridor turns east.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 08:32 AM
I hop on the platforms until I reach a door or so. Going straight ahead as long as I can, after that I will go west (or if the only way is east I go east). If there's really no other way I go back.

Saph
2010-06-07, 08:34 AM
You hop platforms south for a bit until you reach the 4-way intersection.

One corridor goes north back the way you came.
One corridor goes south, then turns east.
One corridor goes west, then turns south.
One corridor goes east, then turns north.

Pick a direction.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 08:35 AM
The direction I was going to (south it was I think) and east after that.

Saph
2010-06-07, 08:39 AM
You hop platforms south, then east, then south.

You reach a door, set into the east wall. The platforms and corridor continue on southwards.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 08:55 AM
I open the door and peek in the room

Saph
2010-06-07, 09:03 AM
A short corridor going east before reaching a T-junction.

There are platforms of force in it, like before, but this time the platforms are moving.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 09:07 AM
I go back to the stillstanding nonmoving forceplatforms and go further south.

Saph
2010-06-07, 09:08 AM
You continue south.

You go south, west, south, east, north, east, south, west, north, east, and finally come to an empty room full of stationary platforms. There are no doors and you don't pass any turnings along the way.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 09:09 AM
Oke I go back towards the moving platforms, what do I need to do to get on them?

Saph
2010-06-07, 09:25 AM
One of them is travelling up and down the corridor, so as far as you can see you just need to step onto it.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 09:29 AM
Works for me I will step on it. And I will stay on the look out for any danger.

Saph
2010-06-07, 09:31 AM
It travels to the T-junction.

At the T-junction are two more moving platforms. One's going north, one's going south.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 09:32 AM
Going south again. and following the go left if possible rule from now on.

Saph
2010-06-07, 09:38 AM
The platform moves and stops. It reaches another moving platform.

Shall I assume you keep getting onto the moving platforms?

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 09:39 AM
Please do yes.

Saph
2010-06-07, 09:41 AM
Two platforms later, the corridor dead-ends in a door.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 09:41 AM
Open door and peek inside.

Saph
2010-06-07, 09:43 AM
You have found a safe room!

This room allows you to safely rest for eight hours, once and once only.

You do not have to use the safe room immediately. Offer void once this level of the dungeon has been completed. Limit one safe room per adventurer. Terms and conditions apply. Not valid with any other promotion.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 09:45 AM
I have no need for rest yet, so is there a door out of here, or should I leave the way I came in. If that's the case I go back and travel north from where I have travelled south before.

Saph
2010-06-07, 09:47 AM
OK, you go back to the T-junction and go north.

You get onto one floating platform.
You get onto another floating platform.

There's a stationary platform, and then a last floating platform which seems to lead to a door. Continue?

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 09:48 AM
Yes I continu and open the door.

Saph
2010-06-07, 09:50 AM
You step onto the stationary platform. It turns out to be an illusion.

Make a Reflex save or fall into the lava. :smalltongue:

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 09:51 AM
Reflexsave: [roll0]

Ah well, now to find out how to reach the door. If I live that is.

Saph
2010-06-07, 09:54 AM
Ooh. That was not a good time to fail a save.

You fall into the lava and take [roll0] fire damage.

I assume you probably do not survive it.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 09:56 AM
I couldn't take the minimum damage (or actually could, but barely) and yes start anew. Since Ivy is in the same startingroom as always I think I go out of the door at D7, stalk the wall while hiding and moving silently and than peek around the corner to see if somethings there.

Saph
2010-06-07, 09:58 AM
It leads to a beach, which drops off into water. You've been here before, in a past life anyway.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 10:01 AM
Actually Vladimir (her Nephew) has been here. One of the many. And all are called Vladimir. Anyways, I know the room and I know there's a beastie waiting for me.

Anyway I walk on and try to keep hidden for the beastie there.

Saph
2010-06-07, 10:03 AM
Well, you can keep hidden up to the corner, but once you get around the edge you won't have any cover.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 10:04 AM
I know I just want to see if I see it allready? Nothing else.

Saph
2010-06-07, 10:04 AM
You can see something in the water, yeah. Let's see if it sees you.

[roll0]
[roll1]

edit: Nope.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 10:06 AM
Can I move until he is in spitrange (30') and than spit in the surprise round? Or would that be impossible.

Saph
2010-06-07, 10:07 AM
You can spit at him from where you are, but he'll have a lot of cover from the water.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 10:09 AM
I draw my sword and shield and spit at him (counting 50% misschance 1 is hit: [roll0])

Spitattack (ranged touch): [roll1]
Damage if hits: [roll2]

If threat:

Confirm Spitattack (ranged touch): [roll3]
Additional damage if confirmed: [roll4]

Edit: You've gotta be kidding me with the 2 :(

Saph
2010-06-07, 10:13 AM
Well, you get him, even though the water.

Initiative time! [roll0]

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 10:14 AM
Initiative: [roll0] you win initiative by the way (autowin and such)

Saph
2010-06-07, 10:23 AM
The anguillian swims up and stabbities you with its spear.

Attack: [roll0]
Damage: [roll1]

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 10:26 AM
I hate him and stab him back with my shortsword, I will teach him not to do that kind of thing anymore.

Attack:[roll0]
Damage:[roll1]

In case of a 19/20

Confirm:[roll2]
Additional damage:[roll3]

Saph
2010-06-07, 10:30 AM

Full attack.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 10:31 AM
He misses and I attack again:

Attack:[roll0]
Damage:[roll1]

In case of threat:

Attack:[roll2]
Damage:[roll3]

By the way in the spoiler I rolled a natural 20  sad that one didn't count. And he missed  this round

Saph
2010-06-07, 10:45 AM
You hit.

Spear attack: [roll0]
Damage: [roll1]
Bite: [roll2]
Damage: [roll3] and attach

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 10:47 AM
Another attack from me:

Saph
2010-06-07, 10:50 AM
It's pretty wounded.

Spear attack: [roll0]
Damage: [roll1]
Bite: [roll2]
Damage: [roll3] and attach

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 10:51 AM
It needs to die, not being wounded.

Attack:[roll0]
Damage:[roll1]

Attack:[roll2]
Damage:[roll3]

Saph
2010-06-07, 10:54 AM
You'll need a better attack roll than that.

Spear attack: [roll0]
Damage: [roll1]
Bite: [roll2]
Damage: [roll3] and attach

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 11:22 AM
One hit and a counterattack:

Attack: [roll0]
Damage: [roll1]

Saph
2010-06-07, 11:23 AM
Fail.

Spear attack: [roll0]
Damage: [roll1]
Bite: [roll2]
Damage: [roll3] and attach

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 11:23 AM
So do you my dear opponent, so do you.

Attack: [roll0]
Damage: [roll1]

More like this so to speak

Saph
2010-06-07, 11:27 AM
Nearly dead.

Spear attack: [roll0]
Damage: [roll1]
Bite: [roll2]
Damage: [roll3] and attach

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 11:30 AM
Miss and attack (I love my 22 AC)

And now I remember: I activate my stance of clarity to get +2 AC against this anguillian.

And than I activate Burning blade boost combined with Steely strike:

Attack: [roll0]
Damage: [roll1] + [roll2] fire damage

Saph
2010-06-07, 11:35 AM
Dead. 300 xp and a spear.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 11:37 AM
I de activate my stance, and go and stand in my child of shadows stance. regain my Warblade manouever.
Taking a full round action to regain my Swordsage manouever.

Picking up the spear, stabbing the thing some more times to see if it's really dead. Than go towards the door and open it.

Saph
2010-06-07, 11:43 AM
Back in room 2 again.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 11:44 AM
I stay behind the door and yell: "Here horsie horsie horsie"

If something doesn't show up after 5 minutes of waiting I close the door.

Saph
2010-06-07, 11:48 AM
No horsie.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 11:52 AM
Now Ivy is sad, look what you did to her. She closes the door, and is sad that she couldn't kill the stupid hippocampus. She is not in the mood for a grappling game.

She moves back to the south door, where she met her demise the last time. But she does not go in. On the east of the map you gave me there's a big white spot where something should be, that's the place where she goes (the door there). And she opens it.
She should be able to reach it by walking over the sand.

Saph
2010-06-07, 11:54 AM
You mean the NE door?

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 11:57 AM
Nope, south east. I went first into the south door. If I go north east I know for sure that horsie is waiting for me.

But a little bit to the south I think that I saw a door on the map. It's almost directly under the door where I shouted for horsie:smallbiggrin:

Thelas
2010-06-07, 12:03 PM
Saph

With TS's permission, I switched the location of the horsie and the other R2 encounter, so if we want to keep it consistant for Dusk....
But you can do whatever you want, since I can't really DM for a while.

Saph
2010-06-07, 12:03 PM
OK, southeast it is.

You open the door and see pitch darkness.

Thelas
I'm just waiting to jump him with it.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 12:10 PM
I come back to this, I do not like darkness. I go towards the startroom by the way that I came here. Than I sell the spear and buy a potion of ebon eyes.

The spear gives me 1 gp and the potion of Ebon Eyes cost 50 gp. One of the machines is useless after this action.

Than I go back to the darkness door, drink the potion and look inside. What do I see now?

Saph
2010-06-07, 12:11 PM
By "one" I think you mean "all of them" . . .

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 12:15 PM
Wait what, I thought I could use every one of them once. Not once just once. Because in that case I will make my step void, and leave the dark room for what it is. Instead I go to the door where I yelled horsie (after going back to where I killed my first opponent) and yell for him again.

Saph
2010-06-07, 12:16 PM
No, you get one use of the vending machines and that's it. It would be a bit pointless otherwise.

You yell for the horsie. It doesn't come out to play.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 12:19 PM
I step outside the door, 5' and get in my sneak and hide mode. I look around and will try to reach the north-east door as sneakily as I can.

Saph
2010-06-07, 12:20 PM
You're there already. That's the darkness one.

freaking edits . . .

You reach the NE door.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 12:21 PM
I open the door.

Edit: sorry for my edits.

Saph
2010-06-07, 12:26 PM
lol.

You see a room 15' wide and 50' long.

The floor extends only 10' on this side and 5' on the other. Between is a chasm. There's a notecard to the SE and a button with writing on it to the NE.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 12:26 PM
I go towards the button and push it.

Saph
2010-06-07, 12:27 PM
Nothing happens.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 12:28 PM
I read the note, and how broad is the chasm?

Saph
2010-06-07, 12:30 PM
Chasm is 40'.

The note says: “Take the leap of faith for great glory and greater reward.”

The button says “Push me if you're afraid to jump.”

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 12:30 PM
I push the button again.

Saph
2010-06-07, 12:31 PM
Nothing happens.
That you can see.

Thelas
2010-06-07, 12:31 PM
Saph

??????
What are you doing here?
Did you alter the room or something?
Oh wait.
I didn't even realize Wall Of Force was invisible until right now, I always thought it was just see-through.
I'm an idiot.
Leaving this here for the paranoia value.
But thank you for showing me that before one of my players pushed it when I was DMing.
EDIT: And after I post this, I find the white text. You are being mean. And that is why you are awesome. Here, have a cookie. *hands one cookie*

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 12:32 PM
I keep bashing the button. Until it dies (she has anger issues).

Saph
2010-06-07, 12:33 PM
You bash the button repeatedly.
It does not die.
Yay cookie!

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 12:34 PM
I tried the button, I will jump now. I will never make it, but since the button doesn't die, she has nothing to do anyway.

Jump:[roll0] maximum is 24 so I will die anyway.

Saph
2010-06-07, 12:35 PM
Where do you want to jump? North, south, or straight down the middle?

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 12:36 PM
Straight down the middle in style, While waving

Saph
2010-06-07, 12:38 PM
You jump.

You clear a pitiful distance, and it's immediately obvious that you're not going to make it.

And then you land with a splat on an invisible platform right in the middle of the chasm.

Your leg goes over the edge, and you pull it back quickly. You realise this platform is only 5' wide. You are suddenly VERY glad you jumped down the middle.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 12:40 PM
Does the platform move, is it standing still?

If it stands still I jump forward right through the middle, while I can't see anything.

Saph
2010-06-07, 12:44 PM
It's standing still.

You take another jump and land on more invisible platform.

You realise it's actually a bridge, 5' wide.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 12:46 PM
In that case I walk over it and arrive hopefully at the other end.

I use my wand for faith healing to heal 9 hp. And look for a door on this side.

Saph
2010-06-07, 12:47 PM
There's a door. How are you using the wand, though?

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 12:49 PM
Good question I thought you could use it if you knew the command word. But else it's useless. Useless means no healing and a worthless item.

Saph
2010-06-07, 12:52 PM
Well, you can trade it in for potions instead, if you like.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 12:54 PM
I have a wand with only 10 charges. So that's not enough to get 10 potions. Foolish me. Well, anyhow, I go on without being healed.

Saph
2010-06-07, 12:59 PM
Well, that's equivalent to 3 potions, so just write that down on your sheet instead.

Opening the next door?

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 01:03 PM
Nope can do. Since it's according to my calculations equivalent of 1,5 potion.

Anyway yes to opening the other door.

Saph
2010-06-07, 01:05 PM
10-charge wand costs 150.
Potion costs 50.

150 = 3 x 50.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 01:07 PM
Than I also calculated that wrong . I really need to get my head together. Stupid defense. Sorry I have a 5 charge wand in that case. No one that has checked me has seen my mistake.

Saph
2010-06-07, 01:10 PM
It opens into this room:

http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/2674/room6.jpg (http://img42.imageshack.us/i/room6.jpg/)

The yellow dot on this side of the white wall is a stormcloud with a face.

The white wall is opaque.

Ps are platforms.

Initiative: [roll0]

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 01:12 PM
Let me guess the green dot am I.

Initiative: [roll0] (I auto-Win)

If possible I spit at the cloudy thing.

Ranged touch: [roll1]
Damage: [roll2]

If not I need more info.

Thelas
2010-06-07, 01:16 PM
Hello, Saph.
Just popping in to say hi to Dusk.

Hello, Dusk. Have you had fun getting killed, tortured, and taking 20d6 fire? Yes? Good -- ooh, there's a shiny thing. I wonder why it's a green dot on my map, though. Oh well, I'll leave that (and the shiny thing) for you to figure out.
I like shiny things. Oh course, you're at the left, so you have to get to the shiny thing first.

Saph

If you have time, I'd like an answer to that PM.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 01:17 PM
And I do not really understand it. Where am I, where is the yellow thing, what do I see further. I need options before I can begin my turn.

And Thelas yes I do enjoy getting my chars killed. I only missed the horsie

Saph
2010-06-07, 01:20 PM
Sorry.

You're just outside the left side of the map. At the moment you're 50' from the yellow dot.

The side of the map with the green dot is currently behind an opaque wall.

Thelas
2010-06-07, 01:21 PM
[LEGEND DELETED BECAUSE IT'S USELESS NOW THAT SAPH NINJAED ME.]
Swordsaged? Maybe.

And who SAYS you missed the horsie? I heard there's a marine biology relocation project going on in here...

Saph

Sorry to kinda intrude on your fun, but I feel like doing something. I won't actually run the fight or anything, just giving the legend and adding minor commentary.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 01:22 PM
And I guess you mean F's are platforms because there are no P's.

Oke I move to the fourth F (east). And ready an action to spit on something that comes within 30'.

Saph
2010-06-07, 01:31 PM
The little glowy stormcloud bobs up 5 feet and unleashes THUNDER AND LIGHTNING!

You take [roll0] sonic damage, Fort DC 12 for half damage
and [roll1] lightning damage, Fort DC 12 for half damage.

Edit: Yeah, F's are platforms.

Duskranger
2010-06-07, 01:33 PM
Fort: [roll0]
Fort: [roll1]

Move action to get within 30' and spit:

Attack: [roll2]
Damage: [roll3]

Saph
2010-06-07, 01:38 PM
It partial charges you for one last attack:

Attack: [roll0]
Damage: [roll1] physical and [roll2] electricity

then disintegrates. You gain 300 xp.

Duskranger
2010-06-08, 02:33 AM
Good I hate clouds.

Can I see through the wall? Because if I can I want to know if the yellow dot is another cload.

Saph
2010-06-08, 04:14 AM
Nope. Wall's opaque. What do you want to do?

Duskranger
2010-06-08, 04:25 AM
Why did thelas say something about a shiny than? Anyway, I go to as close as the wal as I can. Nevermind I go back.

Saph
2010-06-08, 04:32 AM
. . . and the wall vanishes. Stormcloud fight number two!

Initiative: [roll0]

Duskranger
2010-06-08, 04:35 AM
Initiative autowin for me.

I move within 30' and spit at the thing:

ranged touch: [roll0]
for [roll1]

Saph
2010-06-08, 04:38 AM
Take a closer look at the map . . . getting within 30 feet will require some jumping. :smallamused:

Duskranger
2010-06-08, 04:41 AM
I will try a jumpcheck, but according to me (while i jump on the rum that is) I only need to throw a 5. Since I only need to jump once. According to my calculations that is.

Jumpcheck: [roll0] If I need to jump more say it and I will throw in another check.

Saph
2010-06-08, 04:44 AM
You're missing the fact that the DC is doubled for not having a full run-up, so the DC is 10.

You just make it, jumping onto the southmost single platform.

You hit and hurt it badly. It floats SE and up 5', and unleashes THUNDER AND LIGHTNING!

[roll0] sonic damage, Fort DC 12 for half.
[roll1] lightning damage, Fort DC 12 for half.

It's 35' away.

Duskranger
2010-06-08, 04:48 AM
Even halved I die. I only have 3 hp left. And no rage claws. So I died. Sadly. Well I am going to tinker a little bit with the char. I am going to lose the wand, since I can't use that one. And I am going to change the vambraces feat to Rageclaws just in case.

I had 81 gp left, + the 75 gp of my 5 charge wand that makes 156, I will buy 1 potion of ebon eyes and 2 potions of faith healing.

If these changes can be made without any sheet check I will start again immediatly, if not, well than I let my sheet be checked first.

Saph
2010-06-08, 04:50 AM
Yeah, you can start immediately.

Duskranger
2010-06-08, 04:54 AM
In that case, I move silently and hide out of door D7, stalk the wall and look if i can see the anguillian. Before I take a looksy I draw my sword and I grab the shield too.

If it's there I spit on it with 50% misschance:

[roll0] 2 is a miss, 1 is a hit.

ranged touch [roll1]
for [roll2] acidy damage

And I miss heavily, anyway, now it knows I'm there I guess

Thelas
2010-06-08, 07:31 AM
Are you in the water or on the sandy tile next to the water?

And hey Saph, I'll be taking Dusk back, please... You've gotten two kills on him already, I need to get more before you get another, since I don't need you to have killed even the PC I'm DMing more times than I have...

Saph
2010-06-08, 08:30 AM
Go for it. I'm supposed to be running Terran and Jarian as well at the moment, and they post enough as it is. :smallwink:

Duskranger
2010-06-08, 12:10 PM
I'm on the water, walking there. I am hugging the wall from door D7 I am: 1 tile east, 3 south (map on page 1 post 24).

Thelas
2010-06-09, 06:00 AM
You don't see any anguillian.

Saph and TS and you know what all the Level 2 DMs

Because it's at -20 ft.

Duskranger
2010-06-09, 10:38 AM
I look again and if there's nothing I move toward there where it used to be.

Thelas
2010-06-10, 11:24 AM
Roll a spot check, two listen checks, three fort saves, four will saves, five concentration checks, six CHA checks, seven reflex saves, eight sets of 3d6x6 [roll 3d6 6 times, put a line, repeat], nine attack rolls with the weapon of your choice, and ten d%s (separately).

Duskranger
2010-06-10, 11:29 AM
What happens after I done that.
I mean I need a good reason to do so much work.

Thelas
2010-06-10, 12:20 PM
What happens after I done that.
I mean I need a good reason to do so much work.

I can't tell you that, sorry. However, to prove that the checks aren't a giant waste of your time, I'll tell TS and Saph, and whoever drops in from those two first can confirm that there actually is some effect to your rolls.

TS and Saph

Because you're the ones most likely to take over if I disappear temporarily...
Only the spot check is actually important.
Hide check, with applicable bonus that I'll decide on if I feel it actually will end up matter (somewhere from +4 to +10, I'm not sure quite how much..)
[roll0] (awarding the racial bonus, not sure if I should...)

Duskranger
2010-06-10, 01:40 PM
Since I never done them before I feel they are a waste of my time so if you need them, you know where my sheet is I would say go ahead and make those rolls.

Thelas
2010-06-10, 02:07 PM
*groans, grabs nearest dice bag and starts rolling a bunch of stuff*

DMs: roll results

Spot Check: 2 after modifiers
Everything else: an attempt for paranoia dusk's refusing to do
Duskranger: being annoying and refusing to do stuff
TS (Saph and L3 DMs may read, but only TS is really needed)
TS, may I have permission to hit him with some minor penalties that will probably have no effect (like say -1 to all his odd ability scores and a funny feeling? oh wait, they're all even. -2 to CHA, -1 to flat-footed AC, -1 to grapple checks rolled on one's own turn, -7 to Handle Animal checks, and +1 to his armor check penalty when not in combat, maybe?)

You see a grand total of 0 anguillian. Which square are you moving onto? Map from first page reposted for convenience...

http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/9449/nedfloor2room2.jpg

Also, you are aware angering the DM might not be the best tactic, I presume?
Before we do anything other than you answering this, though, I need a ruling from TS on some stuff in the spoiler above.

Duskranger
2010-06-10, 02:15 PM
Sure, I know that. On the other hand I am not really happy with how it goes on the second floor. This floor reeks. Sadly I must go on and conquer this floor before I can go to another one. But I think that I will take a break from this, sorry to bother you with this, but this break will be so I can think over more stuff.

For TS:
I still go and DM my part, but playing will be on a very very very low amount.

Thelas
2010-06-10, 02:18 PM
But I think that I will take a break from this, sorry to bother you with this, but this break will be so I can think over more stuff.
That's fine, I can wait.
*begins plotting evil plans to add another character to the death count*

Duskranger
2010-06-10, 02:19 PM
You may kill this one, I know the anguilluian is there it's just a question of time before it appears. That's why I posted in the last post that I walked carefully where the anguillian was.

Thelas
2010-06-10, 02:25 PM
And I asked you which tile exactly and posted a map (don't know if you missed that or only feel like answering after your break.)

Duskranger
2010-06-10, 02:27 PM
Let me be on the dot exactly. Since that's where I encoutered the critter before this all. My char does by the way do nothing, because when I come again I start with a new char, so kill away if it's there.

Thelas
2010-06-10, 02:30 PM
And despite the fact you expect the monster, he still gets a surprise round for you failing a spot check and him being directly under you...
So partial charge directly up, and take a spear attack since I realize this actually does have a spear, apparently.
[roll0] [roll1]

And initiative: [roll2]

Duskranger
2010-06-10, 02:31 PM
Ivy looks at the spear.

[roll0]

Thelas
2010-06-10, 02:57 PM
It's moderately shiny. Is that your whole action, or are you actually doing something?

Duskranger
2010-06-10, 03:02 PM
I do further nothing, I will notify the NED when I will start playing again.

Thelas
2010-06-10, 03:08 PM
If you really want the character dead, then rocks fall, Ivy dies, come back with your new character when you're ready.
(If you don't want that, then just say so, I suppose.)
