I'm thinking about a one-shot set in The Matrix, system is irrelevant here. What I'm looking for are Freemind character concepts, from which to make pregens.

For something by way of a structure:

Hacker name: Usually a snappy one- or two-word name that sums them up.
Previous life in the Matrix: Who they were before they were free.
Life in the real world: Who they are since being freed. How have they changed form their old life?
Role on the ship: What is their job on the hovercraft crew? Are they in the command team?
Preferred combat style: How do they like to fight? Do they prefer to use martial arts, guns, improvised weapons, evasion, demolitions, etc?
Specialist skillset: Often related in some way to their old life, what unique skills do they bring to the team?

If it helps at all, this is a game set pre-Neo in all likelihood, so we don't need to consider how things might be if the One has touched their lives.

I'm hoping to get about ten or so to give the players lots of choice.

Here's an example of the sort of thing I'm looking for:

Here's a concept for a wheelman.

Hacker Name: Crash
Previous Life: Race car driver and thrillseeker extraordinaire. Crash is one of the few Freeminds who doesn't come from a technical or scientific background. Genius-level intelligence but slacker-level motivation. Crash was freed and recruited by the Resistance because of his casual disregard for all laws, including the laws of physics - even when he was a coppertop, Crash had an innate talent of bending the Matrix's rules.
Life In The Real World: Crash is content with his new life in the 'Desert of the Real.' The structured, safe life of the Matrix was always at odds with his nature. He's been Free for over a year now, and as far as he's concerned, it hasn't stopped being an adventure yet.
Role On the Ship: Crash is the junior co-pilot for his hovership. Though his flying skills are superb, the crew is a little nervous about promoting Crash to the main pilot position. Because he flies like an insane person.
Preferred fighting style: Hyperkinetic and hyperviolent. Crash prefers to fight with his hands, but he will break out a pair of HK MP5Ks.
Specialist skillset: Crash is usually the driver for his team when they are inserted into the Matrix on a mission. He is also usually the point man for high-risk missions because he is willing to do the absolutely insane and suicidal things needed to pull them off.

Hacker name: Malky
Previous life in the Matrix: Malky was a conartist, a gambler, traveler and jack-of-all-trades. Not thriving away from things like a small robery or stealing he was often in trouble but allways found his way out..
Life in the real world: Malky hasn't really found his way in real world. He feeled the need for freedom but know he has to live in a world where there are no rich people to steal from. The unity of mankind gives him safety but boredom
Role on the ship: Kings had Jesters, Hovercrafts have Malky. Someone has to think differently and lighten the mood in this deprassing world. If needed he mans the guns.
Preferred combat style: Malky isn't that great of a fighter and usualy prefers to run away. If he has to fight the draws out one (or two) UZIs (or something like that) and mows down everyone while laughing manicaly
Specialist skillset: Malky has all the skills needed to be the face of the group. be it in the Matrix or on the ship. If needed he can be used in espionage missions where stealth is mandatory.

One more to hopefully tempt some more ideas out:

Hacker name: Saint
Previous life in the Matrix: Under the Matrix name of Michael StClaire, he used to be a real low-life, hustling money in pool and pushing drugs although never having made it big because he was an addict himself. At one point, he managed to turn his life around, and during cold turkey he glimpsed briefly what was beyond the Matrix.
Life in the real world: Invigorated by the sobering effects of reality, Saint was inspired to play things straight and get involved in Zion's politics. He's no big fish yet, but aspiring, ambitious, and interested in the freedom and well-being of mankind in the real world.
Role on the ship: He's the crew's medic and assistant technician. On dives, he's usually accompanying others as heavy back-up.
Preferred combat style: Anything but fancy. Saint is a heavy hitter if he needs to resort to unarmed combat. Other than that, he's packing really big guns and blasting away. He typically wields two heavy pistols for their precision to minimize collateral casualties, but if anybody on the team is bringing a gatling gun or a grenade launcher to a shoot-out, it'll be Saint.
Specialist skillset: The lingo and "etiquette" of organized crime is something well known to him. He knows how to push his weight around there in the Matrix, and has become a pretty intimidating fellow. This has provided him with connections not only to shady people but also to rogue programs still operating in the shadows of the Matrix.
