Hi everyone I was just wondering if anyone can give me some thoughts on a character I plan on building. We're playing a campaign starting from first level that will be about 4 players, and we will all be gestalt characters. We'll be using the E6 style system of d&d http://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?t=352719. I would like to play a something/wizard. I was thinking either warblade(if dm allows it)/wizard or monk/wizard with the kung fu genius feat.

My main question is about the warblade at low levels. I've never actually played a tome of battle character, but I the refreshable abilities would work nicely when I run out of wizard spells. The problem is I don't really know how to make a decent low level warblade, mainly what stances and maneuvers would be fun or useful.

Also, we'll probably have fairly competent damage dealers in melee, so I probably won't really be swordmaging it up, probably more sleep/web/fireballin. The monk would give me better maneuverability, and probably a better AC (dex, int for spells and ac, mage armor). The int to ac would go even more, because I think we get 1 point to put in a stat at each of the first six levels. So a monk would give me, without magic items an ac of 25 by 6th level (mage armor 4, int of 24 (base 18) 7, and dex of 16 - 3, one for monk evels). I figure a warblade will only have somewhere around 17. Anyway, I would appreciate any thoughts or advise on this somewhat rambling question.

Check out Factotum in Dungeonscape, along with the Font of Inspiration (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/frcc/20070606) feat. That's usually regarded as the 'best' class to gestalt with Wizard, though you'd need a custom made E6 capstone feat to get Cunning Surge.

For mostly spellcasting, consider taking Beguiler with it. With the feat Versatile Spellcaster from Races of the Dragon you could spend your Beguiler spell slots to spontaneously cast any Wizard spell you've learned. You could even go something like Beguiler 6// Wizard 2/ Master Specialist 3/ Mindbender 1, even if Enchantment is a prohibited school. I'd specialize in Conjuration to get Abrupt Jaunt, or you could get Rapid Summoning and take the fourth Master Specialist level instead of Mindbender. I'd also use this variant (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/variantCharacterClasses.htm#wizard) from UA to get Improved Initiative instead of Scribe Scroll.

If you use Warblade, consider going something like Warblade 1/ Fighter 2/ Warblade 3 and use the Armored Mage ACF from Complete Mage. That will allow you to cast spells of up to 3rd level in light armor without a chance of spell failure, or in medium armor if you spend a feat on Battle Caster. For your Warblade maneuvers and stances, assuming you take the two Fighter levels, I'd go with the following:
1st level (initiator level 1): Steel Wind, Sudden Leap, Leading the Attack, and either Bolstering Voice or Hunter's Sense.
4th level (initiator level 3): Action Before Thought.
5th level (initiator level 4): Battle Leader's Charge.
6th level (initiator level 5): replace Leading the Attack with Iron Heart Surge, Absolute Steel Stance.
It may be worth it to spend a feat on Iron Heart Aura at 6th, especially if your DM agrees that you gain the benefit from it as well.

thanks for the help! Especially the mention of factotum. I think that it will be pretty dang helpful. It will let me cover the skill monkey and wizard roll pretty well, plus have enough hp to bash things a bit once my spells run low. Just have to see if the dm will allow it though.
