Hello.

I didn't bother make an official linked sheet for the commoner, so just review the spoiler below once you post your own.

Mr Ridiculous, a commoner.
Water Halfling
[14, 18, 16, 12, 10, 8] Speed: 10 ft.
HP: 8 AC: 17 (+2 leather armor +1 size + 4 dex)
Proficient Weapon: Spear.
Feats: Pacifist, Chaos Devotion, Point Blank Shot
Flaws: Unreactive, Slow Reflexes
Traits: Slow

Skills: Handle animal (1R for +0) Ride (3R for +7) Craft:Armor Smithing (3R for +4) Craft: Weapon Smithing (3R for +4) Climb: (1R for +5) Jump: (1R for +5)

Mr Redicouls, the manager for Team PsiDog walked into the arena to assist the latest round champion out of the arena, when with a thud the doors shut behind him. That's never happened before... did I take a wrong turn? No, they told me plain enough "Meet at the Temple areana to serve before your champion..." Oh-no.

Clarification

I count 45 movement needed to go from p-16 to k-16. Unless you can go diagonally from p17 to o18, I thought you aren't able to due to the stairs but I could be mistaken. In which case I apologize for interrupting.

indeed. Stairs are at +5 feet, so count as a hard corner. The thought was to go to P17, from there onto the stairs on O17, then to K17 to K16, exactly 8 squares. Though there might be another problem with that, I'll ask in the open

do stairs count as only working in one direction or could you go from say Q11 to Q12 for 10 feet movement?

Disclaimer: I'm a player who can't wear the Big Hat for an official answer on this one, but below is my understanding.

Stairs are not "One Way" in that they can only be entered/left from fixed directions, but are rather at different elevations. R12 connects +10 to +15. Q12 connects +15 to +20.

So for a medium creature to move from Q-11 (+10 elevation) to Q-12 (+15 elevation) they would need to first climb 5 ft up and then pay double movement to enter. Even with accelerated climbing that would be 20ft of movement (10 for the climbing + 10 to enter the stair from the lower side).


Is it time for Mr Redicouls to act or is Commoner #354 still up?

Strange, even though I'm attacking with a natural weapon far as I can tell the damage is from an unarmed strike by RAW...

Yea sorry about that I did not know what to do about that. Can you tell me when I should of checked for LoS

@Sanity: Nothing wrong with when you checked, just the forgetting that Mr. R was 10ft tall when mounted.

@TheFallenOne: If you're attacking the lower bit then I think I'd get cover from the stairs, but it matters not. Even if you did have high ground bonus both attacks would still miss on the touch.

After all, it worked wonderfully against Xie :smalltongue:

It wasn't a ranged weapon. It's a two handed melee weapon that happens to have a range increment for throwing.

Well, you used it as a ranged weapon when I attempted the disarm, didn't you? This may very well become relevant, I knew from the start of the match that disarms are my best chance to keep alive

Honest? I'm not sure. Seems a bit much for a 8 GP mule. I guess their not supposed to be combat-trained at all, but well, no RAW forbidding it. But either way the attacks miss, narrowly

Ok, Mr. R isn't going to fight to escape (possibly hopeless).

Is the roll for Chaos Devotion hidden? I think it should at least be visible if it applies to AC or attack, after all the Law Devotion switching is done openly around here too

hm, interesting... You technically provoke an attack with the unarmed strike, but I don't threaten while grappling

Chaos Devotion doesn't apply on opposed check since Grapple Modifier is

Base attack bonus + Strength modifier + special size modifier

so no attack bonuses of other sorts

I thought it would be. I figured it was most like a spell where they see it activated initially if in LoS, and then the feat does it's own thing. It just happens with no action on my character's part regardless of if I like it or not. So unlike with Law where a character takes free action to change things Ridiculous does nothing.

switching Law Devotion is actually a non-action, which makes it all the more beautiful

anyway, if you don't beat the 21 grapple that's game, with admittedly a bit of luck on my side
