Geonosis

(Provided by Gamgee)You come swooping in on the LAAT/i Gunship low to the ground at high speed seeing rock formations blur past us. Looking through the window slats or open door we can see heat waves and dust being kicked up from the craft. Ahead is the landing zone where we were told Mace Windu was awaiting clone commandos for a highly sensitive mission.

As the gunship nears the target zone it slows down and the figure of Mace and his troopers can be seen hiding near a rock outcropping just in case unwanted eyes look over this patch of the dessert. As you open the door he finally decides to step out of cover to greet you. His face is stern and serious, and his robes show signs of battle. The landing zone is briefly washed in dust and wind as the Gunship takes off just as fast as it came.

"Welcome to Geonosis!" The clone pilot flying the gunship calls out.

You disembark the gunship, quickly gathering over to where several other groups of clone commandos are waiting.

RC-6543 bounded out of the gunship, eyes and longblaster sweeping his assigned sector as per the drill. Seeing nothing, he double-timed over to the staging area. "Greetings, vode," he said.

Sesseck was nervous, it was his first mission without his master. He looked at the soldiers inside the transport, all already in armor. Very difficult to read them when you couldn't see their faces. What kind of soldiers would they be? They could be ruthlessly efficient, needlessly cruel, or maybe just people doing their jobs. Then arrival, a vast area of dust and sand. Sesseck got out lightsaber already out and activated, having been told that you might get shot at as soon as you got out. "Hello squad."

RC-2090 gingerly walked out of the Laat/i, surveying the dirt and dust whipping about. It certainly was different from Kamino, where everything was sterile, pristine, white, and wet. It would take some getting used to, but he was sure he could manage.

Leaning his DC-17m in the nook of his shoulder, he gave a quick nod to his new Jedi commander, before walking over to the other group of clone commandos.

RC-1609 rides in the Laat/i holding onto the roof straps. He appears to stand at ease from the outside. The armoured suit is sealed and the T-visor presents an impersonal front but the sealed suit contains noise as well as appearance. Inside the squad can have all kinds of chatter on the secure com frequency, from the outside there is silence. Going into real battle for the first time however, the squad frequency has been pretty quiet.

RC-1609 spend his time going over protocols in his mind, and running diagnostics on his equipment. He gives the jedi on the gunship an appraising look, so this is our new boss. He gives a curt and respectful, "Commander," in response to his tentative greeting right before the doors open.

He scrambles into the dusty desert, his DC-17 swinging to cover his quadrant in unison to RC-6543's movement.

RC-2222 "Lucky"
Despite easily being the most heavily laden commando on the gunship Lucky was standing with his packs of gear and bandoilers full. The bulk of his equipment made him look larger than the other clone troopers. The big missile launcher the most intimidating thing strapped to his back.

Lucky watches the others get out of the gunship one at a time and makes his way out in last position. He lands with a more audible thud, but his packs were secure enough not to make much noise. He checks to make sure his rifle is in blaster mode and loaded, and he checks his pistol.

When the Jedi speaks up he says nothing. Just looks at him and his helmet shakes in dismay wordless and soundless from com silence.

Mace Windu walks up to the Jedi. "Sesseck! Take you squad to Sector G-7 and gain entry into the Tower there. You will find Sun Fac inside; take him out! I will be transmitting further orders to you via comlink." He says, then runs off with his lightsaber lit and being followed by some of the other commandos. The clones move off to complete their missions.

Looking at your datapad gives you the location designated Sector G-7.

Checking and double-checking his rifle and making sure a full energy cell is inside, he moves beside Lucky, scanning hills and rock formations for any possible threat. "This'll be fun," he says sarcasticly.

Sesseck didn't expect to be addressed by a member of the high council for his mission, what an honor. "Yes Master Windu." Some of the commandos look at him, awaiting orders. "Lets move out."

RC-1609

"Yes Sir." The trooper marked by, well, nothing different from the others, replies to Sesseck's order and turns to fall into the running formation of commandos. His helmet's T visor and rifle sweep the left flank as they hurry to their designated target area.

Wordlessly, RC-6543 falls into formation with his brothers as the squad moves, lifting the hood of his comouflage poncho up to cover his helmet and covering his assigned sectro with the longblaster.

He checks his datapad for the specific information on the mission. "All right, it's all here, Lt. Sun Fac is a Geonosian. We're on our own, it says there will be Geonosians, B1 and B2 battle droids, maybe even destroyer droids"

Sesseck holds his ignited lightsaber in one hand, and navigates toward the assigned sector using the directions in his datapad that he carries in the other.

"Understood Sir." RC-1609 tries to recall his imprinted training on the capabilities of the B1, B2 and destroyer droids. Formidable opponents, but no match for a coordinated squad of clone commandos. Geonosians are insectile and are able to fly, we'll have to keep up 360 visual scanning.

You move through the battlefield towards your assigned target. You pass a number of firefights between clones and battle droids. You continue on your way though.

You make it to a large tower that has your target inside. Outside the entrance you can see is a squad of battle droids. They have not seen you yet.

RC-6543, seeing the droids go down and it looking unlikely they would not get back up, went back to "sweep" mode as he moved up to the tower. He stacked up to the left side of the door and stakced up, waiting for the signal to go.

RC-1609

In checking out the door RC-1609 looks to see what it is made off, what the opening mechanism seems to be and whether there are any automated controls. Is this a metal blast door that can be sliced? Is it a stone door that would have a mechanical mechanism? Is it a wooden door with a convenient handle that can be opened by hand?

Do I need a perception check? [roll0]

The door appears to be made of metal. It also appears to be locked. It appears to have a control box on the side by the door.

RC-1609

RC-1609 slings his rifle and pulls out a hyrdo-driver from his tool kit. He quickly opens up the face of the control pad and pulls the control board out of position. Reaching into his security kit he attached several leads and turns on the communications monitoring to detect any signals sent by the door. He then attempts to bypass the lock command to open the door.

Mechanics to bypass the lock [roll0]

russdm
2010-07-14, 07:57 PM
You are able to bypass the locking mechanism. You hear it whirr and click. Your communications monitoring equipment pickup a signal indicating that an alarm has been triggered.

The doors slide open to reveal....
