Name: Nicholae
Race: Human
Age: 19
Height: 6'0''
Weight: 109 lbms.
Role: Wandering Swordsman (Adventurer)
History: Nicholae is an orphan who was raised in an orphanage in (city place that I don't know). When he turned 16, per the rules of the orphanage, he was kicked out. After some work as a cook, he bought equipment and set out into the world. He has been wandering across the world since then. He goes under the pretense of enjoying the sights of the world, but deep down he hopes that one day he'll find his family, or at least find out who they were.
Personallity: For an orphan, Nicholae is suprisingly social and optimistic. He figures that after a childhood like his, things couldn't get much worse. He laughs more than anything else, and tries to make as many social connections as he can, hoping one of them has a clue as to who his parents are.
Appearance: Nicholae has finely toned muscles, covered by a huge hooded coat most of the time, which covers thin, opaque, and loose pants and a shirt. When he doesn't have his hood up, he wears a turban over his stark white hair. He also wraps thin bandages over the majority of his face with small slits cut under his mose and over his mouth. His eyes are the only part of his face he does not bandage, and those he covers with a tinted pair of goggles. His clothes are all tan. He has slightly tan skin, and bright blue eyes.
Skills: Nicholae is a profiecent cook, for he had to cook for other orphans because of the lack of staff at the orphanage as a child, and the fact that he cooked as a profession after he got kicked out of the orphanage. Because of his wanderings and the creatures he has encountered, Nicholae has become a near master swordsman.
Equipment: His clothing, described above, a pair of katanas, powered by magicells (Sol is limited to fire empowerment and Nox is limited to ice empowerment. Stupid cheap magicells.), that he straps to his waist, (which he calls Sol and Nox, because one has a gold tinted glade, the other a near black one.), a long, single-edged knife, and a backpack full of survival gear, food, and a large white sheet.

Ramza Belacqua

Age: 19
Gender: Male
Rank: Fifth-In-Line to the Throne.

Appearance:
Ramza has faded brown hair, and dark green eyes. At social occasions he wears a simple tunic and pants, as well as a cape and circlet, but most of the time he's seen walking around wearing a black platebody with gold trim, a set of Mage Gloves, and some MagiCell Enhanced Boots, with a pair of wellworn pants.

Personality:
Ramza is kind of sarcastic, and he's usually mildly amused by things around him.

History:
Ramza is the adopted son of the Toralis, and has several connections in the Residential District. At the age of ten, he entered the Mage Academy, and learned extremely quickly, which caught the attention of the Toralis, and after he graduated, they adopted him as their own. Unfortunately, most of the family doesn't accept him, so he spends most of the time trekking around the mountains with a small group of skilled Mercenaries, who routinely accept requests from the Asonia and Tathuli.

Skills:
Ramza has quite a lot of skill with magic, due to his training, and has control of a small but incredibly useful array of spells. Most of these spells are highly destructive, and he didn't have the skill required for summoning. He can cut the chant for Second Grade destructive spells, and can cast First Grade without a chant at all.

Equipment:
Ramza carries around a longsword that he usually wields with two hands, and it has a half silver half black blade, as well as a hilt made of MagiCell. He also has a Black Chocobo, named Rochen, or "Roch" for short.

Azura Venturi

Age: 22
Gender: Female
Race: Teveran
Rank/Job: Divine Crusader

Appearance:
Azura has green hair, as is one of the normal colors for the Teveran. She has dark blue eyes, and is of an average build. Her hair is about neck length, and various strands of it are braided. She usually wears a metal cuirass and greaves (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:OB-Crusader_Relics.jpg), and has slightly pointed ears. She has a tattoo of a Black Wolf head on the back of her shoulder, and the head is slightly tilted towards her neck.

Personality:
Azura is fun-loving, and she enjoys adventures. She is often mistaken for a human, as her hair and eyes aren't as noticeable as most Teveran, but that just adds to her happy and upbeat personality.

History:
Azura was born and raised in a forest, but she left at her 'Coming Of Age' ceremony, and traveled for a time. Shortly afterwards, she met Jimena, and the two became friends, and she now travels with the Caller.

Skills:
Azura is a straight-out melee fighter, and she uses her sword's magicell crystal to empower it with Fire, Lightning, Ice, or Wind. She's incredibly skilled with a blade, but she's not a magic user.

Equipment:
Azura carries a longsword with a magicell crystal in the hilt, as well as a kite shield. None of her armor is enchanted or magicell enhanced, which explains it's battered look.

Humans:

Background:

The humans are a far-spread people, and those who desire to live in the grand city of Alestre must have very close relations with the noble family, or be noble themselves. The current ruling power is the "Toralis"s, who came into power several hundred years ago, and have remained in power ever since, a remarkably long time for the Humans. Unfortunately, the Toralis have skewered relations with the dwarves and Asonia, but have become close enough to the Tathuli to permit them to live in the city. Will these bad relations continue, or will the city mutiny...?

There are Three Tiers of Nobility in Alestre.

Third-Tier: Merchant-Class. You can be granted this by any Second-Tier noble. There has to be a reason that all those adventurers didn't attack you...

Second-Tier: 'Noble'. You are either a relative or friend of the Royal Family.

First-Tier: You are the immediate Royal Family.

Alestre
Alestre is a large city, and it has recently become so massive that the only way to get around now is via the fairly large MagiCell(TM) Train System, which goes to the Residential, Industrial, Business, Merchant, and Royal Districts. Alestre is mainly built using the Magicell Tech, and thus has several various groups in the Residential districts. There are those who use Magicell, and those who don't. While most other Districts are fine with each other, in the Residential, it's a full out turf-war.

Sun:

The humans protect themselves from the sun mainly by wearing layers of clothing, or in the case of the royal family, taking only trains.

Spell Chants:

When you're a mage, you have to access your abilities somehow. The most common one is a "Spell Chant", which allows you to access various spells. If you are powerful enough, you can "Cut" the Chant, allowing you to use the spell at double it's power, but it takes a lot more out of you. A "Cut" Chant is where you just say the spell's name, whereas an "Uncut" Chant requires a phrase to unleash the spell.

For example, the chant for Fire is:

Pinh Du Ycrac, Vaam Dra Bufan, Fire! (Burn To Ashes, Feel The Power, Fire)

And Firaja:

Ouin Tacdnildeuh ec Y Halaccedo, Ouin Taydr Naxienat, Firaja. (Your Destruction is A Necessity, Your Death Required, Firaja.)

And so on and so forth.

I used Al Bhed (http://www.pixelscapes.com/twoflower/albhed.html) as a chant creator.

Summons, on the other hand, require a full on chant no matter what, as you're binding an Immortal to the realm of the living. Ifrit's chant is:

Unus Quisnam Eram Partum In Lava , Consurgo quod Debello Meus Foes Per Vox Of Incendia. Operor Non Tergum Down , Vos Must Increbresco Obviam Illa Miserabilis Animus, Ifrit! (The One Who Was Created In Lava, Rise Up and Vanquish My Foes With The Powers Of Fire. Do Not Back Down, You Must Prevail Against These Wretched Souls, Ifrit!)

I used Latin (http://www.translation-guide.com/free_online_translators.php?from=English&to=Latin) for the summon.

Chant Grades

Grade One: Fire, Thunder, Blizzard, and the like. These are usually six to ten word chants, and require less energy.

Grade Two: Fira, Thundara, Blizzara, Cura, Aero, and the like. These are usually ten to fifteen word chants, and require moderate energy.

Grade Three: Firaga, Thundaga, Blizzaga, Curaga, Esuna, and the like. These are usually one sentence chants, and require great energy.

Grade Four: Firaja, Thundaja, Blizzaja, Curaja, Revive, and the like. These are usually one or two sentence chants, and require great energy.

Summon Grade: Ifrit, Shiva, Odin and the like. These are usually three to five sentence chants, and require massive energy.

Teveran:

Summary:

A well known race, the Teveran are the balanced fighters of the world. They can all use melee and magic equally, if they can use magic at all, and they take all sorts of jobs. The common slang for a Teveran is an "Elf", and this is what they are called in Alestre, where some of them live. Others, who live in the forests, have various ceremonies for the younglings. When a Teveran is born, they go through a short ceremony, blessing the child, and giving it a name. Then, when the child turns twelve, comes the "Spirit Chant Ceremony", which requires three days of chanting. When the chanting is done, the child has a magic enfused tattoo put on a part of their body. The final ceremony is the "Coming Of Age" ceremony, which happens when the child turns twenty. The child must choose if they wish to kill another Teveran in battle, or leave the village, never to return.

Appearance:

The Teveran's appearance don't really vary. They usually have blue, green, or very rarely, golden eyes, and green, blue, or white hair.

Beliefs:

The Teveran worship the Five Summons, which are the Five most powerful creatures a summoner can hope to obtain.

Bahamut
Odin
Zodiac
Iris
Charon

While the Teveran are fine with Humans and the Tathuli, they detest the Sven'gals, solely because of the abnormal looks, the constant fighting, and much more. However, as with all races, there are a few exceptions.

Location:

The Teveran live in a combination of cities and forests. In the forests, the trees are so dense that barely any sunlight will get through. If they live in the cities, they operate mostly with other Teveran, and rarely involve themselves in other races lives.

Sun:

The Teveran are especially susceptible to the Scorch, due to the fact that they live in forests most of the time. The Exiles protect themselves from the Scorch with a combination of travelling only at night, and only then until they find shelter, and using various layers of clothing to stop the sun's beams from touching them. The few Teveran who survive the Scorch for more then a few days often join groups of adventurers or go to the city.

Jimena

Age: 23
Gender: Female
Role: Caller
Appearance:
http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20070921182539/finalfantasy/images/f/f4/A2vieraelemntalist.jpg
As seen in the picture above, Jimena is a young Tathuli woman, who has long, white hair, green eyes, and white tattoos in a circular pattern. She wears a blue two-piece garment, as well as blue fingerless gloves, boots and carries a wooden staff.

Personality:
Jimena is a curious young woman, who is generally willing to trust others to a certain degree. She also has a tough core, not suprising for one who has made the journey all the way from her homeland.

Backstory:
Jimena was born in the canyon-cities of the Tathuli, and at an early age, started her training as a Caller.

Abilities:
As a Caller, Jimena is capable of summoning various creatures, or at least their spirit, to fight for her in battle. At the moment, however, the only summon she has access to is a creature named Yojimbo (http://zawa.ani.mu/cgl/cgl/src/cgl811_q-yojimbo.jpg)
Yojimbo and his dog, Daigoro, encountered Jimena once when she was very young. Remarkably, they were not defeated by her, and instead offered her their service- and although Jimena finds it incredibly easy to summon Yojimbo, the power he uses is directly related to how much power she has at the time- when she first gained access to him, he was quite a weak summon, but now he is quite respectable in combat. Jimena is not sure why this is so, and if Yojimbo himself knows, he isn't telling.

She is also able to use her staff as a close-combat weapon.

Backstory to be expanded.

The Tathuli
http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20070630165003/finalfantasy/images/f/f6/Ffta2-viera.jpg

The Tathuli are a humanoid race that often travel across the surface of the planet, being one of the few races that have reliable methods of doing so. Physically, they are very much like humans, with a similar size, and all the features that humans have. However, the most obvious differences is their skin color- a light grey in female Tathuli, and a darker grey in the males- and the fact that their ears are rabbit-like, sticking upwards in the case of females, and slanting downwards in the case of males. Their limbs are also quite slender, and their physiology, on the whole, is more agile than strong.

The Tathuli are widely considered the foremost magical race on the planet, being extremely good at finding and training those who have the ability to channel magic, leading to a much higher concentration of Mages, Healers and Callers than the other races. This is because the Tathuli spellcasters who have been trained all have the ability to cast a spell that forms a black dome that blocks the rays of the sun, meaning that travel with a Tathuli spellcaster is much quicker, due to the lack of a need to find a place to shelter from the sun's deadly rays.

The Tathuli homeland is a series of canyons, which has a cave network which the Tathuli live in during the days, although some Tathuli have moved to Hume cities- the Tathuli as a whole do not mind interspecies contact. Indeed, while romance between a Hume and a Tathuli is not common, it is not looked down upon by Tathuli culture, either.

Arquero

Species: Tathuli
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Role: Archer
Appearance:
As all male Tathuli Arguero have dark grey skin and long rabbit-like ears going down toward his back.

His hair is of ordinary light brown and his clothes are equally unremarkable to anyone that have seen an archer before; A sturdy leather shirt, pants, boots, a thick dark-green cloak, two large quivers and a longbow on his back and a pair of magicell goggles.
Those last details might surprise some people not used to heavily armed people but the truly odd detail about him is his eyes.

Namely that one is grey while the other is amber in colour.

Personality:
More serious than most, Aquero is usually cold and almost indifferent in combat, relying on instincts and logic instead of wild emotions and berserking to defeat his opponents.

Outside of combat he is less serious and shows a quite friendly, if not prone to small-talk, personality and a passion for travelling and the wonders of the world.

Backstory:
Long story short: Arquero was born to parents living among the Humes and learnt archery among them.

When he was eighteen he decided to travel the world and see the wonders of it and suchwhat.

Abilities:
Being an archer, Arquero is of course skilled at ranged combat using his longbow and have worked up quite good reflexes and speed as a result of being a ranged combatant.
His years of travel have also provided him with some skill in tracking and navigation.

Name: Ishamel A'tuin
Gender: Male
Race: Human (Zombie)
Age: Almost a thousand years by now
Height: 5'6
Weight: 100 lbs
Job: Soldier
History:
Long ago in ancient days a war was fought between two kingdoms that no longer exist. The king of Ishammel's nation was losing the war and being the vain man he was, did not wish to surrender it to anyone. Since he owned the Gran Girimore, a book of some of the most powerful spells in the world, he cast a spell from it which wiped both his people and the enemy; and then he cast another which brought his subjects back into unlife. For an unkown amount of time he patroled the outskirts of this underground kingdom, maintaing a semblance of free thought; then one day the cave ceiling broke through and the lake above drained into the caverns below, flooding the castle and freeing Ishamel from the mad king's control. He escaped the flood thanks to being on a higher level than the rest of the place. Since then he fled and walks the surface, wishing to see the new world.
Appearance: His eyes lack pupils, his hair rotted out long ago, his flesh is brown and decaying, he wears stained garmets that used to be white, wields a bland iron sword, a spear, and an iron round shield.
Personality:
Quite friendly and lively (duh duh dah), he's pretty curious about how the world has changed since he lived in it. Doesn't actually like to kill people, and sometimes refers to things in his old tongue.
Abilities:
Quite a competent fighter considering all the time he's had to practice, uses mostly military tactics when fighting. Knows one spell, Death, which he casts on himself as a method of healing. Has typical undead weaknesses.
