So essentially, in our house we have a cd-thing that you put five disks in, and it'll shuffle between all of them. However, my parents only have four in there currently. So I've been thinking of burning a joke cd and putting that in, for a laugh.
To the point, can anyone recommend me some metal covers of pop songs, or covers of other genres that shouldn't work in metal?

For context, I've already got Laibach's Final Countdown and Jesus Christ Superstar ready, as well as Gothminister's Thriller. Does anyone know any more?

Try some Ten Masked Men :D (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXvQ94Z1oDM)
Louis Armstrong could help you, too, I think. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ItUk-5FI0Ek)

Not pure metal, but jazz/funk/metal:

Pink Panther (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7w85EmjMlU)
Thunderstruck (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOfs8tjN_QM)
The Simpsons Theme (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CgKzkriPQk)

Everything by Black Ingvars (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haMb8nsI04A), as long as you can get past them singing mostly in Swedish.

If you're looking for something that sounds even remotely serious, I've found that ABBA works surprisingly well as metal. There's Beseech's cover of Gimme Gimme Gimme (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zn93UwAYpow&feature=related), Therion's cover of Summer Night City (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPqVFfT4Kck), and a couple of others I can't remember at the moment.

I believe some punk band has done a cover of "Over the Rainbow" (at least, I don't think it was just those guys in high school...).

I could kiss you, except you're just an arrangement of pixels on a screen from where I'm sitting. So I won't.

Korpiklaani. Metal covers of traditional Finnish drinking music and songs about booze. Good times.

Korpiklaani. Metal covers of traditional Finnish drinking music and songs about booze. Good times.Speaking of Finnish folk metal: Turisas - Rasputin (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldva3dA8yGc) (the actual song starts around 3.20, but it's worth the waiting).

Ah, I didn't realise Korpiklaani songs were covers of traditional music. I just thought they had a large proportion of drink-themed music, and that made me a fan.

Another suggestion...

What about Home Grown's cover of Barbie Girl (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jm1x1YtAyo&feature=related)? The video incorrectly says it's by The Offspring

as much as I despise his music, did marilyn manson not make a few covers? I seem to remember sweet dreams and a couple others..
