I recently wanted to create a new RPG and call it Swords & Spells. Only to discover that this ingenious idea is in fact forty years old (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swords_&_Spells). So, to save me from further disappointments, I've compiled a list.

A

A&E (well, at least they tried): Aces & Eights (2007) -- Civil war RPG

B

B&B: Bunnies & Burrows (1976/1992) -- Watership down based rabbit RPG

C

C&C: Castles & Crusades (2004) -- streamlined D&D
CoC (close enough): Call of Cthulhu -- Horror
CC: Cyborg Commando (1987) -- d10x SciFi RPG

D

D&D: Darths & Droids (2007) -- Web comic
D&D: Dungeons & Dragons (1974) -- The original (?)
DoD: Drakar och Demoner (1982) -- Actually not a D&D clone

F

FF: Forgotten Futures (1993) -- Steampunk RPG
FF: Fighting Fantasy (1980) -- Fantasy gamebooks by Livingstone/Jackson (not this one (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Jackson_(US_game_designer)))

G

G&G: Gunslingers and Gamblers (2006) -- Indie Wild West RPG

K

K&K: Kevin & Kell (2005) -- furry role-playing game

L

LL: Labyrinth Lord (2006?) -- Classic D&D clone

M

M&M: Mazes & Minotaurs (1987) -- "First ever-published" fantasy roleplaying game (?)
M&M: Mutants & Masterminds (2002) -- superhero RPG
M&M: Mecha & Manga (2009?) -- M&M supplement

N

N&S (now did they completely miss the point!): Ninjas and Superspies (1988) -- as the name suggests

P

P&P: Papers & Paychecks (1979) -- does this actually exist?
P&P: Powers & Perils (1983) -- rather short-lived clone
PP&P: Plüsch, Power & Plunder (1997?) -- German furry RPG

S

S&S: Serpents and Sewers (2009??) -- Homebrewing collection for D&D
S&S: Spells & Swords (1976) -- D&D supplementary
S&S: Sword & Sorcery -- not a game, but a sub-genre (and an imprint used by White Wolf for OGL material)
S&S: Starships & Spacemen (1978) -- One of the earliest Sci-Fi RPGs

T

T&T: Tunnels & Trolls (1975) -- Vintage D&D competitor

V

Villains & Vigilantes (1979) -- Superhero RPG

W

Weird Wars (2001) -- Horror RPG
Warlocks & Warriors (1970) -- Anthology of fantasy short stories
Wizards & Warriors (1983) -- Actually a television series
WoW: Worlds of Wonder -- 1982 multi-genre RPG
WoW: World of Warcraft -- Online RPG

Did I miss anything (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MagicAmpersand)?

Also, FF for Fighting Fantasy -- Steve Jackson Games.

You could include the M&M supplements, which all follow that naming format. Like Warlocks & Warriors (or the other way round, I'm not sure) or Mecha & Manga.

Well, you missed Papers & Paychecks (1979)
There's the obvious 3 "games" (which have 4 initials between them; any 2 consecutive of which merit an ampersand)
Serpents and Sewers deserves a mention.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Other Strangeness

Bunnies and Burrows, GURPS supplement.

No, Bunnies and Burrows, loosely based on Watership Down, is one of the oldest RPGs on the marketplace, and probably the first that lets you play a non-human, suggests running away as proper strategy, and have detailed rules for martial combat (called Bun Fu). Only about a decade later, when it was out of print, was it bought up by SJ to make into a GURPS supplement.

Also, for the list: Might & Magic, one of the four classic computer RPGs.

Weeell... if you include German stuff, then you might also include DoD (Drakar och Demoner) from Sweden. Despite the name it is actually not a D&D clone (though the inspiration is clearly there) but a Basic Roleplaying derivation.

I don't know if they're still in print, but both Starships and Spacemen and Villains and Vigilantes are/were RPGs. They're sci-fi and superhero games, respectively.

As well as being a genre term, Sword and Sorcery is an OGL D&D supplement series setting by White Wolf.

There is also D&D, meaning Dots & Disciplines. Oh, wait, I think that was called Vampire.
