I'm reading up on Truename magic for an individual project of mine, and I just can't seem to find where the DCs for the Lexicon of the Perfected Map are. Do they even have these? The other two Lexicons' Utterances all affect items and creatures with a specific DC that is made very clear under the Truespeak skill on page 195, but that's not the case for surroundings-affecting Utterances as the third Lexicon does. Anyone know where I can find these missing DCs?

They forgot to include it. It's in the errata (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/er/20040125a)

To speak an area’s truename (using the Lexicon of the
Perfected Map), you must succeed on a Truespeak check
with a DC equal to 25 + 5 per level of the utterance. If
the area is a magical location, increase the DC by an
additional 5.

Just in case you were thinking that this is a fluke, and that it's not indicative of how much attention they paid to the Truenamer chapter as a whole... yeah, no. It's all that bad. See the link in my sig for a bit more analysis.

Thanks for the replies. This helps. And since I saw it mentioned in that thread of Zaq's... I don't suppose anyone could provide links to Truenamer fixes on this or other boards?

Kellus's (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=90961) and Kyeudo's (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=120488) are the most popular. I rather like Kellus's, but Kyeudo's stays truer to Tome of Magic.

Here (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=120488)'s one. Doesn't seem to be well play tested yet though.

-Swordsaged, this is Kyeudo's-

I'm using it and it's going well. I'm only level 3 and a couple of PbP pages in though so I can't really report yet.

Definitely recommend it though.
