I am sure there is a way to get from self only spells to chained spells so you can buff the entire party with the self only spell...

A level of archmage gives you the ability to:

Arcane Reach (Su)

The archmage can use spells with a range of touch on a target up to 30 feet away. The archmage must make a ranged touch attack. Arcane reach can be selected a second time as a special ability, in which case the range increases to 60 feet. This ability costs one 7th-level spell slot.

And the chain spell feat obviously would be required to chain the spell.

This leaves me needing to change a target of self to a target of touch. How do you go about doing that?

Ocular Spell and/or Reach Spell I think can do it.

Spellguard of Silverymoon has an ability that allows you to cast any protective buffs or buffs that grant temp HP on allies as a touch spell. I forget exactly the book, but its in one of the Faerun books (obviously).

Spellguard of Silverymoon is from Player's Guide to Faerun, Keld.

Acorn of Far Travel (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/fw/20040710a) and Magic of the Land (Races of the Wild) complete the Spellguard combo.

You only need that combo for a couple spells though. Divine Power, the ultimate personal spell you'd want to chain, already grants temp HP. Alter Self typically grants natural armor, so it qualifies.

If you're an Abjurer, 10 levels in Master Specialist gives you the ability to turn Personal into Touch 3/day.

That's a pretty big If though. :smallconfused:

Or take 10 levels of master specialist as an abjurer. If memory serves that bumps self/touch spells up to 30ft ranged touch or some such.

But, y'know, 10 levels as an uber-specialist wizard.

Damn ninjas.
