My friend has some sort of obsession with angels and whatnot and has recently gotten himself into a PbP. Does anyone know of any celestial races other than Half celestial and aasimar?

Lesser Aasimar? :smalltongue:

Alternatively, just take any race and fluff celestial blood.

Well... they're not celestial per se, but the Lumi from MM3 are native to the Positive Energy Plane. Would that be close enough?

Savage species has rules for playing celestials such as the astral deva (with errors), trumpet archon and ghaele.

They're also evil...er, it totally isn't evil to want to kill thousands of people because of fairly minor things that don't fit into your worldview!

...Right.

Anyways, you could play one of the Upper Planes creatures in the MM, but most of them have piles of LA and RHD.

I suppose being Aasimar with Alter Self/Polymorph for Good Outsider forms is insufficient?

If he can get homebrew by the DM there's always this (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showpost.php?p=8029656&postcount=154)

...Right.

He said his friend wants to be an angel, not necessarily that he wants to be Good. Angels are fully capable of either position. (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/LightIsNotGood)

Lumi are Usually Lawful Neutral anyways.

There's the goat-centaur people from Ysgard in the Planar Handbook.

There's the Winged template (from Savage Species? I forget...), if all he wants is to look like an angel. :smallwink:

Which gaming system is it?
In 3.5, Eladrin were celestial (along with another similar race, which the name escapes me).
Fundementals were cool too.

What are Fundementals?

If it's a reference to Inevitables, they aren't a celestial race, but a race of constructs from Mechanus- which is not an Upper Plane.

If its a reference to something else, I'm not sure what.

Guardinals, eladrin, and archons, were the three main celestial races typifying the Good alignments (NG, CG, LG). There are a few others, in various splatbooks, like the Arcadian Avenger in MMV (Arcadia) or the Valkyrie in ToB (Ysgard).

I've made a few homebrew ones, in my signature. Some of them are from the upper planes.

Bariaurs? Yes, they are from Elysium (I think.)

Come to think of it, a lot of Guardinals make decent "celestials" while breaking away from the standard halos and feathers bit.

Yeah. Especially if you take how they looked in Planescape, instead of the half-animal people of the BoED.

The Celestial Creature template (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/celestialCreature.htm) provides a celestial race for every corporeal aberration, animal, dragon, fey, giant, humanoid, magical beast, monstrous humanoid, plant, and vermin there is (assuming that each of those races is capable of having non-Evil members).

... Is that enough? :smalltongue:

Be a Greater Lantern Archon (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=114321&highlight=lantern+archon).

I was, and for the 1 page that game lasted it was epic

How did they look in Planescape?
I do like the animal looks in BoED, and Leonals are nine kinds of badass.

I can't find a picture online, but mostly like people with small animal features, instead of half-animals. I preferred that look.
