In what must be my Nth attempt at the subject, (where N is a worrisomely large arbitrary number,) I finally came up with a version of Miko that I can stand to look at. The face is actually a blended composite of 5 or 6 different drawings, which I think worked out okay-

EDIT: Some tweaks to costume.

NB: I will do V and Haley at some point! Honest! ...Though that point might well be measured across geological timescales.

She doesn't sear shortshorts. Also, give here some samurai armor (http://www.crsponseller.com/images/portfolio/nwn2clothing/samurai_sheet.jpg).

Gundam like? What? That's Samurai armour from ancient japan. Miko is a samurai. (Or enough of one to be confused for one)

Well, strictly speaking, going by War and XPs' bonus strips she does wear short-shorts. :p
I've gone with a black-velvet ninja-tights approach for now. Any better?

I considered realistic samurai armour (and the armour does need work,) but I couldn't really reconcile it with how her armour looks in the strip. She doesn't have an ornamented helmet, and clearly has prominent, spiky pauldrons. I tried to make her 'skirt' faintly reminiscent of a samurai's, though...
