That's right, playgrounders!
I'm an UNCLE!!!!

My cousin gave birth to a lovely girl, and I'm dying to go meet her!
I was sound asleep yesterday, and never knew about it, it happened around 8 o' clock yesterday, GMT -6.

Isn't that a second cousin? A niece is when your sibling has a daughter.
Regardless, I give you Congo Rats.

Some people feel close enough to their cousins that they can refer to their offspring as nieces and nephews. Or even to the offspring of people with no blood relations.

And RD keeps making the precise statement for the precise moment.
That's right, here in Mexico, whenever somebody has a baby, and that somebody is the son/daughter of your mother/aunt/uncle, then it is considered your niece/nephew.

@Rose: No, I don't have pics, but soon...:smallsmile: :smallbiggrin:

@NL: Thankee!

Correct. But anyways:

Congratulations! You're now a uncle (or whatever you call it for a second cousin)! *Gives cake and hugs*

Heh, nice.

Congratulations, Crimmy. I trust your cousin is none the worse for her ordeal?

It's really a first cousin once removed (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cousin). If your cousin and you both had a child (and not with each other ewwww), then those two children would be second cousins.

But all that "removed" nonsense is lame because it doesn't say which one of the two people is of the older generation. I give Crimmy full license to be an uncle, with all of the spoiling and bad influence aspects that come along with it. Grats!

What? You expect me to congratulate you? Cause I'm totally going to! Congatulations man!
(Though your cousin deserves them even more since she was the one doing the hard job, you know? Delivering a baby and all. :smalltongue:)

Yessir!

@Coplantor:
Dude... She totally had the baby in half an hour. She started having contractions at 4, but she was in he hospital by 8, and at 8:30, the baby was out and fine.

@Scorpina:
She's fine and happy. She couldn't move much yesterday, but my guess is she's fine right now.

@Emerald:
Thankee kindly!

And specifically for all of ye... The Niece Of Crimmy, Best Known As Frida Maria: (Warning, big pics)
The sleepy Frida is quite small, but she was born with 3.12 kilos. Healthy.
