Who here knows Evan Dahm?

http://www.rice-boy.com/

He has just finished his second long webcomic, Order of Tales (http://www.rice-boy.com/order/index.php?c=001), at 744 pages.
If you haven't heard about him, here's a 14-page mini-story (http://www.rice-boy.com/shortstories.php?surya=1) that is a great introduction to the world, especially as presented in his first comic Rice Boy.

He has created a really weird world, some interesting characters, and the stories are rather charming too. The colored art of Rice Boy is fabulous, the black-and-white of Order Of Tales is still good but I didn't like it as much. However, Order of Tales is a slightly darker tale so the bright, naive colors of Rice Boy would be out of place. He has also done four shorter stories, 10 to 16 pages in length, that tell small side-stories about his world.

His next long-format comic will start July 26th. I don't know about you, but I'm really eager to see what he's going to do next.

That was an excellent ending of OoT.

I agree that it's a very different kind of story than Rice Boy, and in some ways less good. I missed the occasional silly/surreal moments that made Rice Boy so great.

Interested to see what his new project, Vattu, will be about.

Read through Rice Boy and it's... odd. Pretty cool though. Not sure. More pondering may be required. :|

Imaginative art and an odd storytelling style that I can't help but like. These are comics that I would recommend only rarely, but they are some of my favorites. OOT was odd, but both stories are great examples of how to do fresh takes on archetypes that are old, worn, and played completely straight.
