View Full Version : What's you theme music?

Darklord Xavez

In response to the YOU! thread, I made this one. The purpose is to choose some music (as generic or specific as you like) to describe you. My theme music is as follows:

Anything from Doctor Who+Clockwork Orange+"Space Suit" by They Might Be Giants+Mannheim Steamroller+Kraftwerk+Parliament+EVERYTHING by the Gorillaz+Benny Hill theme (search it on youtube)

The "+" separates different things.

What's you music?

I've got a lot of it. Right now, it's "Boot Up" by Paul Harknell and/or "Feel Good Inc." by Gorillaz.

Recently this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-lN7V4_Gx0). For me, theme songs are always about lyrics, and choruses are for shouting even with people in earshot.

My favorite thing by the Gorillaz is "Fire coming out of the Monkey's Head", but "Feel Good Inc." is pretty cool.

A bizarre combination of:

Nightquest - Nightwish
Dark Chest of Wonders - Nightwish
Hard Rock Hallelujah - Lordi
Neurotica - Rush
Division Bell - Pink Floyd
Anyway - Genesis
Holding out for a Hero - Bonnie Tyler
*shudder* Anything but Ordinary - Avril Lavigne

Mostly I'd say Dark Chest of Wonders or Anything But Ordinary are the most applicable to me. I'll say Dark Chest of Wonders because I am busily trying to forget my dark music tastes of the past when I was not enlightened.

I'm insane. Though Boot Up is my go-to driving song when I feel the need for speed, and Feel Good Inc is my go-to song when I need cheering up, only one song truly is the song that represents me fully and wholly: Rodeo Clowns (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rK0LWsEcSjM), that specific recording. It's the first song they play, you can't miss it.

Death - Misanthrope (Symbolic album, 1995) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0u0_moxCvw&feature=related)

Phenomenal artist (Chuck Schuldiner), who almost singlehandedly defined a complete genre, and managed to gather the best of the best musicians around him (seriously, if you can bear listening through it, try to pay attention to the utter craftmanship displayed by each individual instrumentalist: epic). Most importantly, he completely shook the foundations of my musical life (I am a musician) and, as a bonus, the title of the track somewhat reflects my personality.

"Santeria" or "What I've Got", By Sublime can describe most of my most recent days. At times it's "Rooftops" by Lost Prophets. Sometimes even "Awake and Alive" by Skillet. With my very mercurial personality, and this being a time of change in my life (starting college and what-not), my theme song keeps changing.

I. Jethro Tull - My God (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dh0woT7NkKI). Yes, a live version, to account for the meanderings from profundity to gibbering and back again.
II. Donna Summer - I Feel Love (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8TBmeK9Abg). Swoop and soar on the music, endeavor to be pretty and tidy, and good.
III. Thomas Dolby - Hyperactive! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zelVvrgcK_g). Zombie Jamboree plays too slow, an' nobody's done what's better which is record the newer, better, funner, more zombified nursery rhymes!
IV. Renaissance - Trip to the Fair (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKh4kqMiV-I). Close but not perfect--would it have killed them to contract a poet instead of a fly-by-night lyricist?

. . .ok, when I was but a sperm, I also got irradiated by song.

Somebody once told me that they thought the song "Everybody's Got A Story" (or something to that effect, I forget the exact name) by Amanda Marshall fit me really well. I associate "Hey Soul Sister" by Train with my boyfriend and me. I'm really laid back, so anything upbeat and equally laid back with chill lyrics is good.
