I've looked but I can't find a thread for this. Anybody know of a good way to give a Magic weapon Sapience? I'm trying to avoid Item familiar but I guess I'll use it if I can't find anything else and my DM lets me.

Try here (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/creatingMagicItems.htm#intelligentItemCreation).
It's core.

Thank you. The only limitation I can see is that it requires finding a 15th level caster. Should work fine though.

EDIT: is Deathwatch still evil when used by the item?

EDIT 2: So, if I spend 15,000 I get 4 random lesser and 3 random greater abilities?

Given that Deathwatch is on the spell list of some celestials, as well as on the spell list of some classes and PRCs that must be of good alignment, or Fall if they do an evil act, a case can be made that the PHB 3.5 made a mistake when it altered Deathwatch to give it the Evil subtype.

I wouldn't be surprised if DMs who know about it being on the class list of Good classes, simply remove the Evil subtype.
