Warforged don't heal naturally, right?

However, I distinctly remember them being able to repair themselves over time, without magic spells or items.

Where are the rules for this again?

Isn't it 10g per point of damage, with a Craft (armor smith) check?

I believe in the campaign setting for eberron in the race section on warforged

edit: its on page 46 under craft skill

Aha. Excellent.

Next question: what's the cost/source on a custom item of +skill, for improving Craft? It's not in the MiC, as far as I can tell.

Well, Masterwork Artisan's Tools (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/equipment/goodsAndServices.htm#artisansToolsMasterwork) will get you a simple +2. And they're Core.

Bonus^2*100 (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/creatingMagicItems.htm#tableEstimatingMagicItemGol dPieceValues) for a competence bonus.

Bonus^2*100 (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/creatingMagicItems.htm#tableEstimatingMagicItemGol dPieceValues) for a competence bonus.Do note, however, that the table you're linking to is "Estimating", is originally in the Dungeon Master's Guide (not inherently intended for PC use), and the explanatory text includes such things as "Not all items adhere to these formulas directly. The reasons for this are several. First and foremost, these few formulas aren’t enough to truly gauge the exact differences between items. The price of a magic item may be modified based on its actual worth."

AKA, "Ask your DM first".

I assumed he knew that since he was looking for the cost of a custom item, but yeah.
