Ok, homebrewers, I am working on a homebrew setting and could use some help bending the gamerules to make it do what I want.
Ok, setting. D20 past (a subset of d20 modern) that is a gaslight victorian era world, except with mad science. Basicly I am allowing most stuff from d20 future so long as it is flavored as mad science and sutibly steampunk or such, based on the science specialty of your character.
So, here is where the homebrew and alternate rules starts. First as it is a mostly social game I intend to use 3d6 in place of 1d20 during non combat. Then I intend to let a mad scientist roll 3d8 for science related rolls, upgradeable to 3d10 and 3d12 with a feat line.
Mad science is a feat that can be taken at character creation by the way.
There will be more feats allowed to allow characters to really define themselves sooner and do more at low levels. So characters gain 1 feat per level.
Thoughts? Any sugestions or past experence?
