Hi, me and someone else wants to be a ranger in the game we are about to start, neither of us want to do anything else but the rest of the party do not want 2 rangers, so is there a class that could be used to replace the ranger so it'll be different enough so that it's not two rangers in the party but it's not so the replacement is somthing like a sorcerer.

Any suggestions? links may prove to be useful

Not sure if this is on the right forum (unless you're requesting homebrew) but hey.

Scout from Complete Adventurer is kinda' nice.

An idea that I've also seen tossed around on these boards is replacing Favoured Enemy with Favoured Environment (basically applying the bonuses when you're in that environment, rather than against that enemy).

You could also just do a wilderness-themed rogue.

If you guys both really want to play a ranger, and you're willing to work together as you design your characters to avoid too much overlap, you can easily make two rangers who are quite different from each other. For example, if one of you plays an archery-focused ranger with a hawk companion and a focus on wilderness navigation and tracking, while the other plays a TWF-focused ranger with a horse (mount) companion and a focus on information-gathering, wizard spellcasting (via Sword of the Arcane Order), and takes the Urban Tracking feat, they'll really feel quite different from one another.

The Ranger Handbook (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=4621.0) and the Cityscape Web Enhancement (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/we/20070228a) are good places to start if you'd like to know what your options are.
