I had some free time, so I decided to start making a new DND character. I was looking at a base class and decided on a spellcaster. I settled on Duskblade. Then I decided to start building the character (classes, feats, etc...) I decided to go with Green Star Adept, the indestructible mage. Duskblade 5/Green Star Adept 10/? 5

After I decided this I wanted to find a FULL CASTING class so that I could get more Duskblade spells. But I couldn't find a good one that complimented the others. I was wondering what you guys could come up with. I do want the Duskblade class but not necessarily as many as I already had, but the 10 levels of Green Star Adept are required in this build. If you guys could help me it would be great.

Abjurant Champion

I would strongly discourage you from going with Green Star Adept. It loses a lot more than it gains.

Abjurant Champion, as suggested, and Initiate of the Sevenfold Veil are good options. IOT7V is generally considered overpowered, but entering as a Duskblade rather than Wizard would tone it down to fair levels.

Could you possibly list what books these classes are in?

complete mage and complete arcane for most of these.

IotSFV would be increasingly less broken on a duskblade. fit in some levels of unseen seer and you will be amazingly amazing. you can make the fullcaster next to you very happy that walls of magic exist

EDIT also, fit in one level of spellthief and get the feat Master Spellthief (i believe it is in complete scoundrel) and give youself much happiness

Could you possibly just use warforged? It gets a lot of what green star adept does for no cost that I'm aware of.

No I can not.

More duskblade levels aren't bad. If you want a PrC, abjurant champion (CMag).

(This build (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showpost.php?p=4168583&postcount=64) might give you some ideas. Not duskblade-based though.)

Duskblade 13/Wyrm Wizard 7.

Duskblade 13 is GOOD.

Can you elaborate on why?

I echo the sentiment that you should stay away from Green Star Adept. It's just not very good.

Do note that Green Star Adept is more fragile than 10 levels of Wizard, both in HP and in Fort saves (due to losing the Con bonus). It's about as far from 'indestructible' as you can get.

We can help you make a Green Star Adept. We can help you make a good spellcaster, Duskblade or otherwise. We cannot help you do both, because they are mutually exclusive.

Sir, you are one Disintegrate away from being a very expensive pile of green powder. Which another hapless GSA will scrape off the ground to stir into his canteen. And the cycle continues.

Ok, I should stay away from GSA. In that case a Duckblade character would be nice.

Note to self. Play a Duckblade.

You fool, you should know never to pick up a Duck(blade) in a dungeon! Lose 2 levels!

Anyone know of a good duskblade handbook?

Dictum Mortuum has one (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=525.0). Of particular note is the following, which you might miss at the end.

Let me save everyone a bunch of time: your first four feats (or 4 of your first 5 if you're human) will be power attack, knowledge devotion, obtain familiar, and arcane strike. Don't argue it, don't question it, just accept it.

I've read that but when I did I still wanted to do GSA. The Feat Arcane Disciple was mentioned in the handbook. If I were to take this feat which Domain should I choose? I was thinking Sun or Healing.

For beatdown, I'd probably choose Pestilence,Death or Destruction in that order.

For buffing, probably Strength.

Nah, more likely to get melted down into the raw material for some ubercharger's primary weapon (like adamant, but you hurt extraplanars too).

Though now that you mention it, I guess that's pretty true though. The first wizard to reach 10 levels in GSA becomes the target of every other GSA in existence. And once you kill him, you get what, 200+ pounds of the metal because his entire body was made of it. Now just lock him in a vault until you need to level again.

Other options: If you can finagle haste somehow, Swiftblade. Zhentarim skymage gains you a mount and further spellcasting. Lords of darkness. But spellcasting requirements might be difficult, I'm not sure of the duskblade spell-list.
