I wanna make space D&D without changing a lot up, so I propose...
new skills:
knowledge:
Space, computers, physics, etc. Vague really, since a space game would have so many different kinds of knowledge.
piloting (dex): starfighters, aircraft, capitol ships, starships (between starfighter and capitol ship, the most common type).
Craft: computers, firearms, energy weapons, etc.
ride: also works for motorcycles and hovercraft and the like
shields: operate starcraft shields
stealth systems: use vehicles stealthily, duh
power suit operation
sensors: spot, listen, search and all that while in a vehicle or power suit or while using a scanner
new feats:
ace pilot: +2 to all piloting starfighters and starships
any feat that increases a knowledge skill by +2 (i'm too lazy to think of names for them all)
rapid fire for firearms and energy weapons
classes: call fighter class soldier, ranger class marksman or elite soldier or something like that, sorcerer class is sci-child (some scientific doowhatta gave them powers), and wizards are scientists who instead of using magic, manipulate the laws of science (though they can do it only a certain number of times per day, lest they risk destroying the galaxy). Clerics can be combat medics, druids can be biologists, there won't be paladins, rogues will still be rogues, barbarians would be stim-soldiers (they use special chemicals to induce the rage), I can't think of what to call monks, and I think that's all of em. I'll worry about the items. Also, minotaurs would be medium sized, to help them fit on spacecraft, though they'd still be quite large.

Have you considered the Star Wars RPG out there? How about d20 Future (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=d20/article/msrd) (scroll down)?

You should really consider formatting this in a way that makes it readable. It's one giant block of text.

I REALLY don't wanna download all that...

I REALLY don't wanna download all that...

It's a bunch of word documents, and thus takes up next to no space. You can also grab the d20 Modern SRD, which contains d20 Modern, Urban Arcana, and d20 Future in a single download.

shhh. be nice.

Alternately, RE:Insanity, you could join TableTopNuke with his work on Breakdown!, a sci-fi (+ magic?) D&D era set IN SPAAAAAACE.

If you really want it to be D&D in space and not something that's completely different (ie. d20 future, GURPS or star wars RPG), then you should check out the thread 'D&D, now with Sci Fi flavor'. Granted, it's taken slightly more seriously then 'D&D in space' (which could already be interpreted as spelljammer).

Realistic application of technology to the game makes things more interesting on so many levels, I think.

set IN SPAAAAAACE.

Did you never see The Muppets?! Oh, I feel so old now....

http://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/Pigs_in_Space and YouTube probably has a clip or two.

However, if you want Spelljammer, Spelljammer.org is the place to go. Specifically for 3e there is this: http://www.spelljammer.org/sj3e and this is useful for finding converted creatures from Spelljammer: http://lost.spelljammer.org/ShatteredFractine/critters.

Spelljammer came out for 2e but WotC never officially brought it into the fold of 3e other than as a nod in Dragon Magazine. It's space opera with lots of humor. You've got with guns, gnome spaceships run by giant space hamsters and so forth.
