The small village of Running River fades into the background as the caravan heads out along the trade road. The horses pull the wagons along at a good steady pace. You walk alongside the wagons with the other elven rebels, who quickly and carefully remove the fake shackles.

Triys, the elven leader, speaks softly to his comrades who move swiftly to mount the wagons and keep watch. The wagon drives increase the horses' pace, with you walking along fairly easily to keep up.

After several hours of passing trees alongside you, the caraven comes to a wooded area where Triys stops the caraven to rest. He calls for the drivers to dismount. The caravan moves into a semi-circle and the elves (there are 5 of them) bring out rations for you all to eat.

Triys assigns two of the elves to watch the road, while they eat. He seems to be quite unsettled, hoping to continue on your journey.

(You can use this time to interact with the other members in your party.

The caraven has 4 wagons. Triys rides in the front wagon with another elf. Elves drive each of the other caravens. There are two other guards, one half-orc and a human besides you. Both wear very simple clothing and weapons)

"*Pothoc* vaecaesini, sventari vur virlymi. Si tuor ekess ocuir astahi *xoal* ekess gixustrat ve vur ner vethimolik ekess vi dos." Arytevaeri hisses. She jumps off the wagon, as sure-footed and strong as the days when she was but a juvenile, hanging on the tails of the sorcerers around her. Her beady eyes, set under two golden ridges, dart around the clearing. "Ach! How much longer musst we wander this accurssed forest?" she says, a slight Draconic accent to her words.

The words in bold with the asterisks are Draconic. I'm using this site (http://draconic.twilightrealm.com/) for some words, guessing for others, extrapolating from existing words as much as possible. Asterisks mean she's emphasizing it.

Translation (words in () are the actual translation): *Stupid* elves, killers and thieves. I want (I'd like) to see them *try* to disembowel (gut) me and spear (pin) my hide to the wall.

Indeed, we could travel a little faster, and rest less. We are in no vacation trip. Gorm replies, following the Kobold out of the Wagon, holding his Ugrosh with one hand and letting the other side rest in his shoulder.
We have not seen battle in quite some time. I'm sick of pretending to be a prisoner, that is not the life of a warrior. In any case, I'm not comfortable with this stop. Call me paranoid, but that guard in Running River was way too interested in our business. It might not be safe to stay around.

Arytevaeri shakes her head in confusion. "What iss a...what did you call is? Vah-cay-shun? But you are right. I feel no need to stay here any longer than necesssary. I want to ssee good solid rock again. These endlesss trees are no place for a kobold, or for you, dwarf."

Vacations... a costume in degenerated societies in where people take pride in acting as leeches, producing nothing, and consuming twice as they'd actually need. In any case, what is a Kobold of your age doing out of your clan? Asks Gorm.

"A waste then. As for what I am doing here, we, that is, the elders of my tribe, decided that these elves must be dealt with. The young ones are too impetuous sometimes, and I decided that I would go. Besides, there is always the chance of finding space for another mine. Ours is close to bursting, but a journey now is too hazardous, what with those drow not even a league away, the dwarves two leagues down, and elves coating the surface world like gravel on the floor of a mine."

Gorgimera sits quietly eating his ration, then speaks "The more patient we are the sooner we get to kill elves" then goes back to quietly eating

"Thisss is no time for patience!" Arytevaeri hisses at the spellscale. "We waste our time here. Can we not eat on the move?"

You make a seen you blow the cover, you blow the cover we get killed, and i personally dont want to die til i've killed many more elves, if you want to do something be my guest, i'll sit quietly for now

Arytevaeri barely touches the bread in her hands, nibbling at it only half-heartedly. "Your kind eats too much." she says, stowing the bread in a pocket. "The food one of you eats in a day would sustain four kobolds for three."

"In no rush, huh? Why are you on the job? Nothing personal, I'd bet." The dwarven barbarian asks, resting his ugrosh in the ground and taking a piece of dried meat. "Perhaps it's the fine menu we are offered what caught your interest?" Says Grom grinning and taking a bite of the hard and salty beef.

we will be where we need to be when we need to be there, and when we get there, I will show you why I am here, unless you want to see what i'm capable yourself. turns toward the kobold As for how much I eat, maybe if you kobolds weren't tiny frail little things you'd eat more, but me, I like to have the energy to accomplish things

Shadow stood off to the side, quietly eating. Only one word had left his mouth in the midst of this arguing: "idiots." It was spoken under his breath so that only he and a few others might hear it.

Triys stalks up to angerily. He glares at you then speak. "What? You think you can run this caravan better than me and my comrades? What, after knowing the requirements for this job here and agreeing to them, you are complaining? If so, why I don't just continue on and explain to Krisa how you were unwillingly to do your jobs. Do you see the other guards complaining?(points to the half-orc and human, who are deep in conversation)See them? they are doing their jobs for this task properly. I can leave you behind, if you are going to be such ungrateful sods." Triys finishes angerily. You get the impression he heard and understood everything you said.

Shadow smiles gleefully at Triys's tirade against his comrades. It's clear the assassin agree with his employer.

Dang, I started writing this before the last 2 posts.

"What a charming group of fellas..." Grom thinks while munching "This should be a blast". After clearing his throat with a sip of his bottle's content, he speaks again: "Well, let's calm down gentlemen, before heads start rolling. One little piece of advise: don't start threatening your colleagues or someone will end up fertilizing this land. And none of you wants to be the one. As for introductions, I am Grom, son of Karrag, and I'm here because either my clan thought this was a suicide mission, or because nobody else had the guts to accept it. I didn't really ask too many questions. Well, not a single one, actually, after I heard I would be able to kill elves." After the general announcement, the dwarf faces the pale human in dark clothes and talks to him: "Let me guess, your reasons are also too secret to be shared, right?"

So, not to double post and to answer Triys:

"Fair enough" Grom grumbles. "Damn elves".

Woodsman
2010-07-25, 10:52 PM
Shadow raises an eyebrow, frowning. "My reasons are mine and mine alone, dwarf," he states, purposely not using his name. "Rest assured, though, that I wish to see the elves fall as badly as you do."

Triys pays each of you one final malice filled look, then stalks off back to the wagon he was on. He does not turn to look at you again.

The elves assigned to guard return and report to Triys. After a brief conversation, they go to their assigned places.

Triys waves his hand. the other two guards move quickly into position. the elven drivers mount their wagons.

The caravan moves out...

The tree huggers surely have keen ears, comments Grom in a low tone, to the group, to avoid being heard by the elves.

"Charming young things, aren't they?" Arytevaeri remarks to no one in particular. "Squabbling worse than any wyrmlings I know." She hops on a wagon, wincing slightly as her twisted left wing hits someone.

The caravan continues its journey. Several more hours of traveling alongside the forest then some plains continues until it gets dark and Triys decides to stop to camp for the night. The wagons are gathered together in a circle around a fire that the elves get going. One elf starts cooking food, while the others unroll bedrolls for sleeping. Triys watching from atop a wagon.

The elves finish setting up camp and wait for the food to finish.

"Why are you lighting a fire, leafblood?" Arytevaeri asks, ripping a piece of hard, oversalted, beef off of the lump in her pocket and snapping it up. "It seemss like a very good way for us to be found and killed."

OOC: Wow, lots of impatientness from you lot.

IC:

The night passes unevently. When it starts being twilight, Triys rouses everyone up and gets the caravan moving. He sets a fairly fast pace. The caravan continues on without stopping until nightfall again, some 25 miles from where it started.

When the caravan finally stops, the halforc and human plop down exhausted. Triys, deeply angered by your complaints, has severely pushed the animals. Almost all the elves simply pass out sortof. A couple take up guard, and they walk around, trying to relieve their stiff muscles. Triys studies a map, that he covers up if anyone of you come close to him.

Anders Celsius

OOC: Nah, it's only my character who is impatient. :smallwink:

Ajadea
2010-08-05, 07:13 PM
OOC: My character isn't big on waiting.

IC:

Arytevaeri wakes when they stop once more, trying to peek at the map. When that fails, she goes over and sits down by the exhausted elves, spear at the ready. Idly, she runs a claw over the exposed neck of a nearby elf. If I was closer in temperament to my kin, I could kill them. she muses idly.

russdm
2010-08-05, 11:28 PM
OOC: How do you mean you run your claw? Do you touch the elf?

Ajadea
2010-08-06, 12:00 AM
OOC: Yes. Not damaging anything...but yes, my character's claw is tracing lines on the throat of a trancing elf.

russdm
2010-08-12, 05:38 PM
As soon as your claw touchs the elf's flesh, things happen. The elves all snap awake and pop up and draw weapons and aim them at each of you. The other two nonelves cring back unsure on what said to join in on.

Triys comes over from somewhere and looks at you, with angry glances. He turns away, putting his back to you, then turns around again. His face is hard and grim. He seems to odd to himself. Triys speaks to the other elves, who nod. They put away their weapons and get the caravan moving on. One of the elves helps Triys get on a horse. He watches the caravan disappear on ahead with the other two nonelves.

After the caravan has disappeared long enough into the darkness, Triys speaks to you.

Triys, "As you seem more than willing to complain and whine and do such, then you can find your own way to the outpost. You can deal with the troubles you may encounter. I have no time for unruly types who can't get their jobs done! You don't seem at all willing to work with us, so may you find whatever it is you are looking for." He says with a final bit of malice, then rides off.

You are alone around a fire that is still going. The caravan is gone and its not likely you could find it until morning, which is in 7 hours. As you have no idea where to find the outpost, you will have to go elsewhere or try to find the outpost.

Ajadea
2010-08-12, 06:47 PM
"Most wyrmlings in my tribe have better manners than our former alliess." Arytevaeri hisses darkly. "We musst make a plan. I suggest that we leave the caravan tracks as far behind as posssible. The Running River guards were far too interested in us, and I have no dessire for my hide to be turned into an elven wall hanging."

Anders Celsius
2010-08-14, 02:54 PM
"Well, well, things are getting interesting now." Says Grom, grinning, "Yet I feel this was not our smartest move. We'll have some trouble traveling this lands without their escort, may their company have been as unpleasant as it was, they were still our free pass tickets.
On the plus side, I won't have to stain my kin's reputation anymore showing off as a slave. I'd prefer to follow the caravan and keep working with them to get to the said outpost, but I feel that is no longer an option. How about we get moving now and try to find it by ourselves?"

Ajadea
2010-08-16, 03:36 AM
"I am no tracker, and I do not believe you are either." Arytevaeri points out. "Unless we have a speedy, well-trained, tracker, it is far too likely that we will become lost. I do not attempt to understand that elf in command. He seems far too willing to hold grudges. Who is to say that if we return, he will not order our former comrades to murder us in our sleep?"

Anders Celsius
2010-08-18, 03:56 PM
"We have no option, in that case, to move on, and see what we find". Grom sighs, in total uncertainty of what his future will hold.

Anders Celsius

Shadow ***** his head. "Are we really going to follow a group of people who's already abandoned us?"

(Life.)

Anders Celsius
2010-08-25, 09:19 AM
"We are not following them in hopes to meet them again, but just to leave this forest. Unless you've got another suggestion on where to go, of course", replied Grom.

Ajadea
2010-08-25, 09:41 AM
"If we meet them again, I will attempt to understand why they abandoned us. If they attack us, I have no qualms about slaying them." Arytevaeri grins. "At the least, the leader will provide several days of food."

I'll go with that idea-I was a guard on the caravan. Why I was there... I'll think of something. DXD If that's okay?

Anders Celsius

Lix Lorn

"Well... we got two choices, right? We catch up with them and throw ourselves back on eleven mercy." she said with quite some sarcasm. "Or we try to get away."

Anders Celsius
2010-08-27, 01:59 PM
"Then lets move on, those elves surely know how to leave this forest, and if they are smart, they'll be moving fast so we don't catch them. For if we do..."

Ajadea
2010-08-28, 05:58 AM
"If we are all in agreement, let us be off." Arytevaeri says. "Someone douse the fire."

Rumel
2010-09-09, 08:17 AM
You folks want to follow them elves I saw a while back?

Ajadea
2010-09-09, 10:03 AM
"I sincerely doubt that would be wise. Unless you have some sort of death wish?" Arytevaeri says, ignoring the wolf sniffing her. "Apparently, they did not wish to move any faster than absolutely necessary, despite the fact there may very well have been elven guards who suspected them."

Rumel
2010-09-09, 04:48 PM
So where would you like to go. I'm a traveler and don't know of any big towns so any ideas?

Anders Celsius
2010-09-16, 04:55 PM
What do you think about north, to the mines. We could try to free some slaves. I have special interest because of my race, but we might grab some valuables from the guards and their profit, which might interest you people.

Rumel

Alright, let me just go grab my wolf. and shouts for titan in the distance.

Lix Lorn
