The roosters begin their morning call as the sun rises up over the horizon. Farmers look on the sunrise, counting it as their second hour up, and continue their diligent work to keep thousands fed and supplied. Artisans who have spent the night thinking and pondering and working are falling asleep, and those who had their night of fulfillment early, are starting to wake up. Blacksmiths stoke their fires, Potters make their molds, Painters set up their next piece. Librarians finish their tea, Parents wake up to look at their children, and the Town Guard switches shifts.

It is morning in Baelnosh, and what a fine morning it is.

Herenyonnen wakes to the sun and the fresh air, and the slight irritation itching for his attention remains. It has been there to greet him each and every morning these past few days. And, frankly, it has been quite irritating to Hereny, almost to the point where he just might do something about it.

Alas, that desire to act falls short, and Herenyonnen sighs as he wakes and begins his morning routine. He attempts to enter into meditation, and almost surprised himself that he was able to enter the prayerful state so immediately.

Prayer completed, he seeks out his mentor, who simply waves him off and tells him he's free until evening, when he is to return for a lesson.

"But, master...nevermind."

With a sigh, he gears up and grabs a bit of change, and heads to the market, looking for a bit of diversion to help him pass the day.

William Delnas

As the bright pre-dawn light breaking through his uncovered window falls upon William Delnas' face, he awakes with a soft moan. Clumsily, he brings up one hand up to shield his still closed eyes from the light. As he regains more consciousness, it fully dawns on him that it is sunrise and snaps awake, bolting upright and looking out the window. He breathes a sigh of relief as he realizes the sun hasn't fully risen, then sweeps the covers from his body and stands, stretching hurriedly.

He then does a rather unusual thing. Without bothering to dress, William strides over to his window and quietly shoves it open, then leans out. Twisting around, he grabs the outside wall above his window and seemingly without effort pulls himself up and out. He quickly ascends the side of his family's manor. When he reaches the top, William hauls himself over the side and sits back against the sloped roof. He continues to watch until the sun has fully broken the horizon, as he has done for the past few days.

Damn, another strange sunrise. What's going on?

Perplexed, the young noble descends back to his room just as easily. Pulling himself back inside and putting the continued oddities of the dawns out of his mind, William quickly dresses, checking himself in the mirror to ensure his personal appearance is up to his high standards, then steps through his door and out into the morning. Heading downstairs, he eats breakfast quickly, most of the house still in the throws of sleep. When he finishes he soon departs; last night his father had promised a firm tongue-lashing over William's most recent escapade (this one involving the honor of a young lady, a rather stuck up lad from a prominent noble house, an unkind exchange of words, rotten eggs, and a rather suspect duel), and William is in no hurry to receive it. Once he is a fair distance from the family manor, William slows and contemplates the coming day.

Well. What do I want to do now?

Winston

Being a farmer for most of his life, Winston woke up before the sunrise and was unable to sleep any more. Old habits died hard.

He shoke the cobwebs from his head and was half finished his 'breakfast' as the light came up. Breakfast consisted of leftovers from the night before- the inn's cook was never up this early.

Winston had sold the family farmland and moved into the inn after his parents were killed recently. Their loss still weighted on him.

"Winston!" A loud voice in his head called out. He dropped the mutton he was chewing on, startled by the sudden distraction.

Winston groaned loudly. The voices in his head were a boon at times but were also a curse. The voices never answered his direct questions. Where they came from or how they knew his name was a complete mystery to him.

The voices dronned on, occasinally fading out or being interrupted by other voices- all in different languages - some unknown to Winston.

One insistant and urgent voice rose to the top of the ding and clutter in his mind and spoke to him clearly in Elven. Why the voices wanted Winston to know the average rainfall for the last thirty years in an Elvish forest two continents away, he couldn't be sure.

"Madness.." Winston muttered, not for the first time this week. "No rhyme or reason to it."

"Beware the evil death!" A voice shouted out in his head in draconic.

"Umm yup, gotta watch out for the 'evil death'..will do....thanks!" Winston muttered flippantly as he rolled his eyes at the incredibly vague advice.

It was going to be a long day.

=====================================

Winston packed up his gear for the day to visit the local library. They had several ancient records regarding magic items of power that were used against dragons. A great green Wyrm had killed his family, that debt would be repaid one day.

He crossed through the busy marketplace on his way, keeping one eye out for anything worth buying and the other eye on his pockets.

Nathan Wall

Nathan had been instilled with a great amount of discipline, even to the point that his sleeping position was heavily regulated, designed for maximum recuperation and easiest transfer from waking state to sleep and back again, ensuring a productive, attentive day and restful night.

Therefore, Nathan was very confused and somewhat afraid when he woke up on his stomach with his head hanging half over the edge of the bed, a wet trail of drool making its way to the floor and his brain feeling too big for his skull.

"Urgh" he articulated as he perused through his recent memory in an attempt to solve this mystery, and found his account of last night abnormally fuzzy. For all the discipline his masters had taught him and he diligently mastered, they had never briefed him on the dangers of alcohol, except one single time when his tutor told him "Don't. Just don't." He had arrived in Baelnosh yesterday evening, minutes before the gates closed for the night, and sought out an inn to stay in. There he had been approached by a gregarious dwarf who insisted that he drink with him. Out of politeness, he had acquiesced, and then events get progressively more fuzzy. Images of wrestling dwarves, a tap-dancing goat and a burly man who smiled too much and kept feeling up his arms flashed through his mind.

Nathan made a mental note to stay away from anything alcoholic, silently taking pride in having learned his lesson. With more difficulty than he anticipated, he lifted himself off the bed and wobbled to his feet. A peek out the window revealed that the sun was just barely rising above the horizon. He must have fallen asleep early despite the drink, or maybe because of it? After his morning routine, consisting of a short period of meditation and a shave(the latter being a necessity he was very proud of), he ventured down to break his fast, catching a glimpse of someone that tickled his memory exiting the door just as he descended the stairs to the common room.

As he finished his lackluster meal, he was about to ask the innkeeper where he should go next, but when he looked up, he spotted the overly-friendly man from last night descending the stairs. Nathan quickly decided that it was in his interest to go out and explore the city for himself, grabbed his pack, left his payment and inconspicuously fled the inn.

Out in the streets, he wanders along, taking in the sights, marveling at the city, having never seen one before.

Emily Crest
Emily awoke in a rather comfortable bed, in the inn known as the Sleeping Dragon.
In all honesty, this town was starting to bore her. She hadn't found anything interesting to do, no skilled masters she could bother until they'd teach her something, and no interesting mysteries to spend her time failing to unravel.

Nonetheless, she'd better get up. With a sigh, she did just that, rolling out of the bed, getting dressed and gathering her things together. She looked out the window for a moment at the rising sun.

She paused in thought, and then shook the idea from her head. The sun was the sun was the sun was the sun. It didn't change, it didn't 'go wrong' and she wasn't going to worry about it.

She practically ran down the stairs for breakfast, enjoying a simple but rather delicious meal-She'd chosen this place primarily for the comfort of the beds and the quality of the food, not to mention a name involving dragons. She bade the patron farewell, saying she'd see him later. She still had about a week's stay paid for.

She left the inn, looking left or right, finally confronted with the question she'd been trying to avoid.
What in the name of the gods was she going to do today?

You walk on the High Palace grounds, silently taking note of everyone who looks at you with disbelief and admiration. You are William Delnas, a rightful Demon in his own right, without listening to any of the... rumors. And you are damn proud of it. Which you don't pay any mind. Your family? Demon Summoners? Hah! You're just better with your mind and your tongue. But... still... there were rumors. Maybe some searching in you the Libraries of the High Palace would provide some clue or hint as to the validation to these rumors.

The grounds are the same like any other day. Polished stone tiles, with a high rising pillar occupying four panels every eighteen. They grid out the High Palace area, which is precisely thirty-seven of these measurements long. They were large and spacious and contained every Noble and member of Royalty inside. It was a boundary. A boundary which constantly challenged you to break or lash out, but still retain your noble appearance. It was a challenge, a constant one, but what's life without a little challenge?

But you wander around the grounds, taking in as usual, the smells and sights and sounds of Baelnosh from this vantage point. Roasted bread from the Dragon Inn, which was better than the High Palace Royal Baker's, though no one really wanted to admit it out of pride. The smell of roasted meats that somehow made it to the High Palace edge from the Marketplace stew pots. The looks of the common girls, who were on par with the Noble Women you took part of. The street fights you could to take part in, but almost never did. Your city. Your town. Your life. Your Baelnosh.

What else could you ask for?

VinGoodman
You travel in between the guarding walls of the city, where the marketplace is located. It is abundant with overjoyed faces of little folk; the Halflings. Caravans of different hued-clothes have innumerable merchants squawking and harking and screaming that their wares are the best. Their wares are the cheapest. Their wares might be over-priced, but you get what you pay for. As you walk past, you can see little pickpockets darting back and forth behind you. You're a newcomer, and a strange one. They do not approach you, as you notice them whenever they come too close.

As you travel along, you see a small theater troupe performing some act of tragedy, a puppet-show for kids and even a performing dog. This is the Halfling tier of the Caravans in the walls; what else would you expect? You know this to be the usual for this time of the month, when the Halflings are making their last visit to Baelnosh for an entire month before traveling to the Sand Lands of the West, the Mystic Palaces of the East or even the Highlands of the North. Their wares are what they cannot sell in the other locations, but what they can sell easiest in your home. Your town. Your Baelnosh.

Ragnarok'n'Roll
The marketplace! The wonders! The deals! The bustling growth and life blood of Baelnosh! What items you can buy, what food you could take delight in, what objects of pleasure you could own! If you, of course, have the coin for it. All around you, smoke from meats arise and the spices from them change the air to something exotic and foreign. Small people... Halflings... yell out to you, claiming these britches would go well with your eyes, these rings would go with your skin, these items will cure your sickness or these herbs will make anyone fall for you.

You notice some smaller people, kids by the looks of it, eying you from a distance. When you notice them, they realize you're aware of their presence, and scatter, only to reform again to watch the Green Man. You can hardly blame them: You're out of the ordinary, even for a town like Baelnosh. Perhaps they hadn't seen the Dragon Man who had taken residence earlier this month? No matter. They didn't try and take your gold, and thus they were just having a fun time following the Green Man.

Read First
You may switch this up as you wish, to see which ones you go to last. It will affect how you play into the story. You must say in this thread which one you go to first, which one second and which one last.

Artisan Section
You had heard of the wonders of Baelnosh, on how its people were some of the finest Artisans that money could buy but... this broke your interpretation. As you walk into this section of the city, you see children making dirt drawings using sticks and colored water, turning the ground into muddy art in mere minutes, before sweeping it all up to start a new one. They're playing a game, you realize, and what a game it is; to make art at the drop of a hat over and over, and at such a young age. Old men who have lost half their sight make vases you had not seen in your previous travels. On them, birds of prey made of fire encircle suns and beasts of burden carry off the heavenly bodies. And are sold by the dozen. Young men with nothing but a dull carving tool and a hammer make life-size stone ballerinas in walls, later to be sold to the High Palace Nobles for their home decor. And this is in your first ten minutes!

Workers Section
The monks who had imprinted some discipline into you are on par with the men you see training here. Men, in their late teens, move in battle formations faster than any normal 'Guard' you have seen. Men, now old and tired, move with such force in their blows as to knock grown Men off of their feat in two hits: Which you only know because they move as fast as they hurt, so only one single strike is seen. You see Town Guards, sleeping before taking on another ten hour shift and you see the Town Army, sitting and playing games to calm their nerves; cards, dice, chess, etc.. Who could challenge these men in combat, and hope to win?

High Palace
Now you see where most of the Art of Baelnosh goes to. High rising pillars seem to touch the sky, all the while showing family lineage. The stone tiles are engraved with networks of knot designs, weaving and unweaving and going in any direction they so choose. Noble Houses are spread out into semi-circle groups, five to a group, around the grounds. And in the middle rests the High Palace. It looks of gold, even though they say it is merely polished stone, and the roof looks like it is made of jade, though it said to be wood. People, dressed in finery you have seen only badly reproduced in plays you have seen earlier in your life, move diligently and hurriedly form building to building to group to group, talking, squawking, hawking and laughing with each other. Nobody seems to pay you any mind.

Lix Lorn
As you look left, you can see the Marketplace edge, and can hear the sound of plays, children, merchants and market-goers arguing, yelling, laughing and performing. Smells drift to you that make your mouth water. Was that some kind of spice? Maybe it was a kind of Lamb. Was that a vegetable or some kind of magic? It smelled better than any oil or flower you have smelled before. And it's the marketplace; there'd be clothes there too.

As you look right, you can see a street brawl breaking out. Two men are punching each other, but they look like young men, not yet out of schooling. You can, however, see weapons on them. But what are the chances they'd break them out?

Everyone
Aside from VinGoodman and Dorizzit, and this is only because they might know each other as Nobles, none of your characters know each other.

The young monk's face was a mask of glowing awe as he made his journey through the city. Everything seemed magically opulent to his eyes as he wandered through the city, following the crowd, his gut or curiosity, whichever struck his fancy at the time. And he wondered about his fate in the city.

He soon found himself in the Artisan Section and entertained himself by watching the artwork of the children in the mud, ever changing, moving almost like a lifeform. Was there some deep wisdom hidden behind the mud-drawing games? Or did his Path lie in taking up one of the crafts he saw practised around him? Delaying judgement until he had more information, Nathan continued his journey.

The Workers Section held a different lesson. Nathan had come to believe he was some sort of prodigy in the martial arts. No true master, but very skilled for his age. Now he saw the numerous guards and militiamen displaying strength, agility and skill on par with himself, and was humbled. He realized how arrogant he had been, and silently chastised himself. But now he was wiser, and that comforted him. He moved on, for it was not in the field of martial arts where his masters expected him to find his final education.

Finally, Nathan arrived at the High Palace section, and was blown away by the wealth of art and finery displayed before him. He felt as if he had wandered into a tall tale, such as he would normally scoff at for its exaggeration. But here he was, and so were the nobles, in their silk and jewelry, ignoring the young pilgrim. Nathan made his way to stand in front of the Palace itself and gazed upon its splendor. He felt both diminished and encouraged at the same time, humbled by the majesty of the building yet proud that he had been here to see it. Maybe one day, he wondered, he would be invited to walk those halls?

Herenyonnen takes in the sight, and finds himself amused by the likely pickpockets roaming about. It's a good thing he came with but pocket change this day. He takes a look at the various wares available. Their wares appear likely to be what they cannot sell in the other locations, but what they can sell easiest in Hereny's home. Hereny's town. Hereny's Baelnosh.

The thought jolts Herenyonnen. When did Baelnosh become his home? The transition was so subtle, he has no collection of when he stopped feeling like a visitor, and became a local.

Hereny decides this is a good day. His mind is active and thinking. Hopefully it'll lead somewhere. It has to. Eventually. Herenyonnen lets his mind roam as he continues his visit in the market.

William Delnas

William taps his chin as he walks, looking around at the familiar architecture of the noble compound. Smiling slightly, he reaches into his pocket and withdraws a coin from his pocket. Flipping the golden disk around in his fingers, he slides it into place on top of his thumb, then ducks out of sight looks around furtively.

Alright. Heads, I stay here, tails I head into the city proper.

Casting one more careful look around to ensure that he isn't being observed, William flips the coin into the air, then jabs one finger out and blasts it with a thin line of Eldritch energy. He smiles in a self-satisfied way as the ray connects, launching the coin far away. He strides unhurriedly to the mangled gold that remains, then plucks it from the ground. He examines it closely, squinting at the melted sides.

Looks like tails. I think.

Ever since he had first developed his new powers, William has been sneaking out less often. It used to be an exciting proposition; while he wasn't confined to the quarters of the nobles, it often reflected badly on his family if he was seen leaving, due to his...colorful reputation. Now, a combination of his ability to turn invisible and effortlessly scale sheer surfaces, it was pathetically easy to get out unseen. In fact, in the time it had taken to ponder this change of circumstance, William was already out and in the streets of the city. Returning himself to visibility in an empty alley, William strides out into the streets and thinks for a second.

Hm. I think I'll head to the market. I can always find interesting things there.

Having learned from experience, William keeps his hand on the money pouch in his coat pocket as he makes his way to the central market of Baelnosh.

Hiya. Sorry I haven't posted or responded for a week, but I've been in Paris without internet access. I should've notified Cardea and all of you before going, but it slipped my mind with the pre-trip stress involved with packing, planning etc. and I apologise.

Waking to the absolute silence of pre-dawn unnerved Zerrod deeply.

Damn... If this keeps up I'll have to see what I can find out about it. If it makes me this uneasy, I don't even want to thing of the discomfort it must cause to all the beautiful ladies in Baelnosh.

Slipping out of bed and into his waiting slippers and gown, he descended from his room and into the dining room. His parents weren't there, but that was nothing unusual. Lurhan and Leryia enjoyed sleeping in, especially if they had no particular appointments before noon. Ringing the servants bell as he sat down, Zerrod was attended by a servant just seconds after having made himself comfortable.

"Shall we serve you breakfast, young master?" an elderly servant named Jeston who, from what Zerrod understood, had been with them for a generation.

"Yes, and bring some coffee and a book on Baelnoshian history while you're at it," Zerrod replied.

"Certainly, m'lord."

After just a few moments, a full breakfast was but on the table and Zerrod smiled. Father does have a skilled chef.
Having finished breakfast and found nothing of use in the history book, Zerrod climbed the stairs to the second floor and his room. Before dressing himself, he picked up a piece of chalk and drew an intricate seal on the floor and called out for the entity known as Paimon. After bargaining with it, they struck a pact that gave Zerrod powers beyond most mortal men. This particular pact was a very advantageous one to Zerrod and Paimon agreed to his every demand. As soon as he could feel Paimon's power in his veins, he could also feel the left side of his mouth drooping. With a small act of will, he suppressed the sign of Paimon's presence and started getting dressed.

Ten minutes later, Zerrod was walking down the streets of Baelnosh, heading towards the market, dressed in some very expensive and finely cut clothes of the latest fashion, out-swaggering pretty much every noble he passed. Entering the market, Zerrod took a deep breath and mumbled to himself: "'Tis a fine day in dear Baelnosh."

Winston looked up and down the marketplace, enjoying the sights and sounds. Occasionally a voice inside his head would offer some insight:

"Those britches actually would go good with your eyes....Those rings are obviously crude fakes...Those herbs will actually give someone incredible diarrea, not make anyone fall in love. Those in retrospect one might not be able to tell the difference..."
The voice prattled on.

Winston shakes his head in disapproval at both the offers and at the voice in his head. Nothing seemed to be striking his fancy today. He bought a small loaf of bread to snack on as he walked. He continued on his journey to the library, ripping off a piece and chewing it absently as he went.

"This is better than farming." He said to himself. He hurried his step as the library was just around the corner. What secrets he would unveil today.

You traverse the Marketplace and walk its streets, smells and sounds reaching your nose and ears, merchants assaulting your eyes with clothes that may or may not be silk, claiming its magic or from far off lands. It is neither. You know for a fact that its just what needs to be sold. It's all the same, it's all under your watch. As you meander the marketplace, you find yourself drifting into the theater area. While it isn't as glorious or as grand as the Royal Ampitheatre, the shows here are well performed, or at least performed with enthusiasm. Puppet shows, small children shows and the occasional book show. As you walk, you find yourself irresistibly drawn to one play in the area; "The King in Yellow."

You approach the building, and know it's name is the Library of Hindruil, forged by some of the first Dwarves to inhabit the city of Baelnosh. There are, to date, and according to the Mage who owns and runs it, 17,380,110 books to date, with more than half of them being either Magic-Wrought, Forbidden or Teaching Magic itself. They are kept in the stacks behind the Librarian's office, and only those who can shape magic can both see and enter through the gateway.

On the outside, there are images of hundreds of unraveled scrolls, complete with engraved runes, all around the walls. On each corner there stands a pillar, and at the top of each floats a stone elemental symbol. One for air, one for fire, one for water and one for earth. It is unknown what powers each half-ton block of stone, or if the engraved writings of the scrolls are magic or not. None have been detected, but rumors are rumors...

Scholars go in and out of the building, along with tourists and High Mages and even a Dragon-looking man, who looks like he's employed here. Inside, at the front, is a help desk, and after that are a few dozen rows of tables where scholars study, and then the columns and rows of books.

The marketplace assaults you. Spices and herbs and meats and vegetables not normally seen inside the Noble Class, wares not seen in the Artisan Quarter, or even weapons forged using some new method of forging. Such were the wonders held by the Marketplace. At least, on the surface. You know that what they hold now is merely what they can't sell in the lands to the East, and that they move out in the next month or so, so everything must be sold. They will tell you sweet nothings like a cheap lover in exchange for you taking their junk. But sometimes? But sometimes there were true beauties in the Marketplace. And that is the main reason you went, some days.

VinGoodman
You know these markets. You know these wares. You know these Halfling Caravans, where they'll sell next, and why they sell what they sell. You know they'll head East, then North, back to Baelnosh, south, west and then finally back to Baelnosh, forming a very, very large eight. You know the pick pockets who trail around anyone, such as yourself, wearing anything that isn't worn for durability of aesthetics. You know these marketplaces.

As you walk around, you find yourself walking in the performing district of the Marketplace. There, smaller shows than the one in the Grand Amphitheater are shown. Puppet shows, kid shows and.... a play which, for some reason, catches your attention above all others. On a sign nearby, you can see the title of the play; "The King in Yellow."

William stretches lazily and looks around. Another busy day at the market. A place where even a noble dressed as such can disappear and remain unnoticed, usually. He soaks up the sounds and smells, but gently brushes off any attempts to sell things to him. He chuckles quietly after he is offered fake "magic" by one of the merchants, his own innate abilities allowing him to determine the truth of these claims. There is almost always none.

On a whim, William heads over to the theater area, as he finds the enthusiasm if not skill of the actors to be charming. Passing over several puppet shows (Calling a show "Poppy Street?" They were really getting desperate), William finally settles on a play called the King In Yellow, something about the play attracting him to it. He doesn't sit, but instead elects to stand towards the back of the seating area, leaning against a handy wall.

The performers seem better than usual or the audience seems into it or the set just looks so much better... you know that they are performing a part of the play called 'Cassilda's Song'.

Along the shore the cloud waves break,
The twin suns sink beneath the lake,

Strange is the night where black stars rise,

But stranger still is

As you inquiry about a book on Dragon Slaying, a Draconic-featured Man looks at you, while moving large stacks of books. "Why do you need a book on 'disposing of dragons', huh?" He sounds annoyed, but as he talks, you can... 'feel', an aura around him. It doesn't feel hostile or bad or good... it just... feels heavy. Like there's something powerful about him. A man behind the desk shoots him a sharp glance, and the Dragon-Man stalks away. The man at the desk looks at you: "Ah, don't mind him none. He just be a little on edge after his rituals, ja. The books you lookin' for be in the far back section, next to Kids."

As you step closer to the Young Men who are brawling, they turn towards you, and smile apologetically. One of them stands apart from the rest of them, hands raised with palms towards you, "Hello there, Ma'am. It's uhm... there's the Marketplace down the street, don't you think you should go there, instead? We're just... you know, 'Being young men', right guys?" At this he turns to his 'friends', the one he was fighting with nodding shakily.

William grows totally still against the wall he is leaning against, enthralled by the play. It's not that its particularly well acted, but there's something about it that just...draws him in. The same thing that first lead him to watch it in the first place. It has an almost...magical quality.

Then, William's supernatural senses scream a warning at him, snapping him into awareness of an insidious mental assault coming from the play itself. His eyes widen and he grits his teeth as he tries to resist, perhaps too late. One hand flies up to clutch his forehead as he feels himself start to fully succumb.

The Draconic lady, as you term her, looks scathingly at her friends, hushing them. She approaches you, and as you can tell, she's around the age where young women should marry. She looks up at you, her reptilian eyes unblinking. Her head is around your shoulder in height.

In your side vision, you see something else that... disturbs you. Its form is massive, its color a dark blue, and is moving to the city. You can make out a few banners, tall and purple in hue, on it a half circle with lines coming from it.

Dorizzit
Your vision ruptures, and your mind falters, as you see the world around you stop. The color fades from it as well. You can hear deep footsteps approaching you, heavy and many. You hear bells, like from a church. And you can hear... slow strings playing, heavy and low in tone and sound, but still audible. You look up towards the stage, and you see... and you can hardly believe it... an entity you know, mentally and spiritually and deep down in you core as... The King in Yellow. He steps short of you, and kneels down to look at you at eye level. He dresses in dirty golden robes, his neck adorned with holy... or unholy... religious symbols. A hood shadows his face, and a crown is on top of his head. His voice comes out slow and deliberate, and grating. "William Delnas. Answer me, boy."

VinGoodman
The world around you slows down. The color fades and the sounds quiet and eventually it stops. From the stage, you hear footsteps, accompanied by bells and strings. The footsteps are slow and deliberate, and you can hear they're approaching you. But in an instant, the world is back as it should be. The show continues on.

On one stand is the skull of a wyrmling, on another is the claw of a Great Wyrm. 1. Emily cuts and flays one of the beasts, rendering its body cold and lifeless, the white sparks of energy slowly starting to dwindle.
2. Winston breaths out a breath of energy, after being sliced by one of the creatures claws. Both beasts are caught in the blast, and only one is still standing, although it looks heavily injured.
3. Nathan's fist hits into the beasts shoulder, and its howl is cut short as it falls to the ground in a slump.
4. Herenyonnen runs to Nathan's side, and cuts into the Beast that stands on the stage. He screams as electricity courses up into his body from his sword.
5. William disappears from view, but the creature looks around suspiciously, and after growling, has its fur stand on end as it shoots bolts of electricity all around it. [Make a reflex save. 14 damage. Save for Half.]
6. The beast on stage bites at Herenyonnen, but misses as he dodges the attack.
7. A beast charges at Winston, and hits him straight in the chest, knocking him back. Its eyes are now glowing, and the white bolts in its body appear to be moving faster. [Take 18 points of damage.]

William jumps in surprise as the beast lashes out with an electrical discharge, but manages to avoid yelping out and giving away his position. He does his best to dodge the electricity, but is still given a nasty shock. Gritting his teeth against the pain, he turns and begins climbing the wall behind him, using his powers to adhere to the surface.

1. Emily's blade cuts into the beast, but is knocked backwards from the jolt of electricity that surges into her body. [You are knocked back to F10. Take 23 points of Damage. You are on the ground.]
2. Winston shoots out a breathe of energy, and the beast cringes at the assault. [I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. You got up, then used your weapon.]
3. Nathan's fist misses the beast by a fraction, and before the beast retaliates, Herenyonnen cuts into its neck with his sword.
4. As you climb the wall, the beast's eyes go wild with energy, and it begins to claw at the wall, looking at the area you occupy.
5. The beast, now changed in size, crouches, and lines of energy prick off of it to the ground, creating a small area around it that is alive with lightning.

The creature is hit again by both the conjured weapon and the eldritch blast, and falls to the ground in a slump. Its body rots away to nothing but what looks to be an unconscious woman dressed in strange clothing, who holds a very large hooked dagger in one hand, and a dark blue book in the other.

William breathes a sigh of relief as the last sparking beast collapses and dies. As discreetly as possible (not very), he slides down the sheer wall he is clinging to until his feet are once again on solid ground. Looking around carefully, he strides over to the center of the square, more specifically to the creature he had helped kill that had transformed into a woman. He ignores the other fighters; the more it seemed like he knew what he was doing, the less likely it was that they would bother him. Kneeling down next to her, he examines her carefully. Assuming nothing strange happens, he will take the dagger, check her vitals, take the book, and then go through her pockets.
