It's that time of the month again.... yeah, that's a terrible joke.

Anyhow, moving on, let's get voting! Voting is open from today to August 8th at midnight (Central time)! We've got a lot of good entries (and a couple rather odd ones) and some of them are really strong. Vote for the ONE class you think should win!

Alright!

Last minute voting helps DragoonWraith pull it out in the end with Shadow of a Murder winning narrowly! Honorable mentions to Samb's Fate Blessed and Doctor Acula's Shadowpath Trader!

Votes!

Are we still doing three vote ?

No, I do that when we've got 20+ entries. Vote for one.

Fate's Blessed by Samb. Always liked the idea behind luck rerolls, but the execution fell flat. Samb made the system workable and add some flair. I love that the class gives you benefits for both using your luck and storing it.

Can we vote for ourselves?

Only if you honestly think yours is the absolute best.

Okay.

Not and easy choice this time, I think I'll go with the Mindbreak Stalker for using a very rare subsysteme and for doing it well.

I really like the X-Factor, I really do but my vote goes for the Shadowpath Trader by the doctor. I love its fluff so much.

I need to go through those classes I haven't PEACHed, and go over the ones I have again, before I can vote. Merk, thanks for the vote, heh, but I don't think I'll be voting for myself - and not out of distaste for doing so, so much as because I'm not entirely satisfied with it.

I have to give my vote to the Shadow Hand Assassin. I like the fluff and the crunch..

Tough call. I really like the Ghost Wyrm, the Mindbreak Stalker and the Shadow of Murder. However, of the three the Mindbreak seems to be the best overall.

My vote go to : Mindbreak Stalker (Merk)

But it was really close to be Ghost Wyrm (Hyooz), good job !

I vote for Fate's Blessed

Personally it would be the class I'd most like to play.

Shadow of a Murder is very nicely done as well, great presentation.

Tiny Thief is top notch, I really enjoyed reading it and might play it some day.

Shadowpath Trader would make an amazing returning NPC, I might use it in my campaigns!

Lots of cool classes, as usual. I'm going to have to go with Fate's Blessed. Shadowpath Trader and Ghost Wyrm were also very flavorful, but I can't see myself playing either of them in a game, and that tipped the balance.

I'll cast my vote for the Dissembler. Unique as all get out, and monsters deserve more nice things class-wise.

Plus, I like the idea of springing like, 5 of these on a higher-level party.

"You push the heavy door slowly open, and your torch casts light over a floor strewn with what appears to be the remnant of a massacre. Limbs and heads scattered all around you, nary a torso left with an extremity still attached."

I'm down to either the Shadow Hand Assassin, which grew on me after I PEACHed it, the Dissembler, or DW's Shadow of Murder for all the work he has put into it, but after seeing Hyooz's idea, I've got to go with the Dissember.

X Factor for me. Since the fluff is pretty good for pretty much everything, it boiled down to mechanics and operability. X Factor works off the most solid and versatile power base in maneuvers (if I had another vote, I might go Shadow Hand Assassin as well), but also adds on to that versatility with the abilities that allow you to adapt to whatever you are fighting.

Usually the problem with shadow-based things IMO is that they straightjacket you into one way of fighting, and if someone deciphers a weakness you face being shafted. And as much as I like the Shadowpath Trader, 3d6 points of skirmish isn't enough to get it done. As much as I would not like to be the person who says that D&D is mostly built on combat, I've found that this maxim generally holds true. Then the thieves are all have their own weaknesses in combat (a la anything that's immune to critical hits or, in the case of the tiny thief, anything that can grapple). In terms of combat efficacy, mindbreak would be number 2, but it suffers from the same problems stated above about shoehorning people into one fighting style. So X Factor it is.

I've reread the entries, and though there are many vying for my vote here (so many great options), I have to vote for the Master Thief. I just love the way it is a true high-level alternative for a Rogue, that doesn't advance Sneak Attack but gives an alternative to it. I really, really like it.

Honorable mentions have to go to the Fate's Blessed, for turning a mechanic I don't find very interesting (Luck rerolls) into something very cool, and to the Shadow Hand Assassin, for a class that I'm going to ask my DM about allowing.

As I read through the entries I quickly realize just how...underwhelming mine is in comparison.

Dissembler however, truly shines above else.

Master Thief is a wonderful high-level alternative for thief-types, the Dissembler is simply hilarious, the Shadow Hand Assassin is a really cool and flavorful take on the assassin, and the Shadowpath Merchants are officially the shopkeepers of the next world I DM, but my vote goes to:
The Fate Blessed for not only making luck feats actually worthwhile and interesting, but also coming up with some really fun fluff. And while initially I was confused by the fact that the class was only seven levels long, after I got it I thought it was a really nice touch.

P.S.-Sorry for the spoiler, but I couldn't resist adding to the suspense:smallbiggrin:

Thank you very much, all who voted for me; I appreciate it, though I am surprised. I'd be very interested in any feedback you have on the class, please see the thread I made for it.
