Hi everyone,

The text of the Pathfinder version of Animate Rope (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells---final/animate-rope) is very similar to the 3.5 version. It says the rope can be used as a trip line. It seems to treat this separately from using it to entangle someone.

But it gives no CMB.

If I order my animated rope to trip an opponent, what do I roll? How would you rule it?

Perhaps treat it as a trip you can attempt at a distance (thus no attacks provoked), using your key casting ability (such as Int or Cha) in place of your Strength or Dexterity.
