So, my art has had certain... flaws.

I noticed that a lot of your drawing are rather.... fat. Is that a personal fetish/preference or something :smallbiggrin: ?
I decided today I'd try to prove I can do better. However, it's been about three months since the last post in my old thread, so here we are. :smalltongue:

Oops.

Well then, the arms look better, but I can't tell about the legs; skirts tend to cover that up. The torso looks better though; the flatter, thinner chest looks better than the stuff you have on deviantart. But it's tied with this one (http://prime32.deviantart.com/art/BleachITP-Mori-Natsuko-156403806).

Now you kinda get the hang of proportion, next, try to vary the line weight.

Just remember that limbs aren't thicker than head, and bodies are just about 1,5-2 heads thick sideways (except for spacemarines and such), and you'll be fine.

yes, as I said, keep the limbs at about half the head's width.

really, the head is the easiest way to keep track of proportion is simply to look at the head. height, torso width, length, all can be easily compared to the head.

Possibly pointless insert: Use a raw skeleton first to arange the pose and proportions of a body. It makes things a lot easier. :smallsmile:

Second insert: streamline the body first, then add definition (if necessary). Females tend to be more on the "soft and straight lines" side of things.

The ankles. I think the perceived fatness can be blamed on those. If the ankles were slimmer, the legs would look more muscled than fat. The ankle might be as slim as 50% the calves*. Your's are at 75% or so for Meling here and closer to 85% on the older pics.
Maybe extend the upper line of the arm to define the elbow more. Would make the arms look longer too.

Just from my point of view the feet look a bit too short, the shoe doesn't seem to have enough space for the toes. Might just be me, though :smallsmile:

I think the 'rakshasa hands' come from the 'bump' in the hand following the line from the elbow, makes it look like a thumb. Making it a smooth curve and maybe elongating the finger a bit could help? Also, wouldn't the thumb be hidden behind the fist, showing only four fingers to the viewer in that pose and angle?

The originals were monk/psions, monk/psychic warriors and monk/ardents with Tashalatora. One of them was a sorcerer with Ascetic Mage.

I had a concept for a Marisa-mech to go with the Patchy-mech, but I've had trouble drawing it. :smalltongue:

Basically, take the Zeta Plus C4 Gundam (http://gundam.wikia.com/wiki/MSZ-006C4_Zeta_Plus_C4), make its torso closer to the Zeong (http://gundam.wikia.com/wiki/MSN-02_Zeong) (the waist only flaring out in MS mode to make room for the legs), and give it MagiKing (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4oLEDrYZqtY)'s head (which forms the nosecone of waverider mode). Arm it with a beam glaive (http://gundam.wikia.com/wiki/XXXG-01S_Shenlong_Gundam) and a stomach-mounted beam cannon.

Anyway, I was trying to improve my technique on the tablet. Brush width 1 rather than 3. I did a rough sketch first, probably the most pencil-like I've ever done, before drawing over it on another layer. As you can see, I was doing some experimenting with folds. Also, DEM HANDS. Whose idea was it to give a finger three joints anyway?

Strangely enough, the sketch turned out too long and thin, so I had to make some adjustments at a later stage than I'd have liked. Plus the shape of the knees gave me some trouble.

Dryad wants to help, but can't come along because of Tree Dependency. Screw that, her tree is livewood and she has Str 20.

Also:
Vampire's familiar shapeshifts into a sparrow and flies out window.
Alchemist PC turns into a hawk and flies after sparrow.
Someone shouts "catch that bird!" as dryad is arriving.

Not sure if the player will go back to Helen or stick with playing the familiar once Helen's better. Both are pretty awesome so I don't mind either way. x3

Last session the party got two artifacts.
One is an alchemical gun powered by eyes that shoots lasers, with three settings going up to Wave Motion Gun level; inserting different eyes creates different effects, so we're now looking for a beholder. :smalltongue: Plans exist to combine it with Alveri's clockwork-rifle-that-turns-into-a-scythe. Also to give her a Homuhomu shield.
The other is the Sword of Hisou the Lance of Longinus Skyrender, a spearhead that can cut the fabric of space-time but drains lifeforce with each swing (and after we created a spatial bubble about three times in the same location, someone standing at the edge vanished for a few seconds and came back raving about tentacles).

But it's arguably more difficult to leave that plane alive than dead, and then there's the draw that plane has for all who have touched it before. :<:< But don't worry! :< Alveri's okay. Bit frustrated with her party, they've betrayed her a bit too much lately, but she's fine. Very 'happy' to be on the plane of her deity.

Haha, aw. :> Changed usernames but this is Alveri'seses player. She's recently been put through a great deal of emotional trauma so she's um, not doing that great, but she'll be okay. :< Was just a dream! A terrible, terrible dream, someone else's dream that she entered as part of the party's adventure through the Dream Plane. But it being a dream just made it worse, because she was powerless to fight against what assailed her, unable to take any revenge as she usually would.

By new character I assume you mean the one on the right? :3 She's Chiiruno, the Cirno-like character that's been in the party for a while now, but she's been semi-corrupted by a certain magic item we found so she now wields both ice and flame, often in equal measure.
