ok so I was considering a wacky idea for a construct when I suddenly noticed that it was eerily similar in terms of mechanics to psionics. unfortunately psionics is one of those topics that I never invested much time, or any money in so I decided to ask rather than stumble around blindly in the srd. what is the equivalent power point cost of the various levels of spells
like :
0level spells equivalents cost X points
1 level spells equivalents cost y points
2 level spells equivalents cost z points
ect.

note that I know that spell level and psyonics weren't meant to be mixed but I am talking in magical equivalents not actuals

iirc 1,3,5,7,9,etc. with no level 0.

One way of looking at it is to assume that a power costing X points is equivalent to a higher-level spell cast by a traditional caster of level X, and vice versa.

So a 20-point psionic power is broadly equivalent to a 6th, 7th, 8th, or 9th level spell cast by a 20th level caster.

It's generally easier to convert spells to psionic powers, because you can simply assume that the cost is the same as the minimum level required.

There are no 0-level psionics.

The cost of a power (when converted from a spell) would be (spell level x 2) - 1.

1: 1
2: 3
3: 5
etc.

however, psionics involves a lot of "spend extra pp to make X better". And spells are way more broken than psionics, IMO, so converting certain spells (celerity, slay living, etc.) might be a bad idea.

so just clarifying
spell strength increases exponentially
cost linearly
and by spending it all on higher level spells one gets more spell power for the same pp?

Pretty much, yes. You also get a lot more power points at higher levels. Note that it's still less broken than a wizard.

There are somewhat official rules for it here:
