Need help, if anyone can

Hi, I have decided that I want to make a video game in an effort to figure out what I want to do with my life. I have found this (http://www.stormthecastle.com/mainpages/videogametutorial/tutorial_videogame2.htm) but I was wondering if anyone has found anything easier to use. I have no experience with anything remotely like making a game, so if anyone can help I would be very greatly appreciative, thank you for your time.

My kids use this (http://www.mygamebuilder.com) to build some simple ones. Not sure how complex of a game you're planning on creating.

Not to complex at first, maybe a "demo" of an fps that I may work on for a year or so, I have no idea honestly.

I would start by creating a level of an FPS or RTS. The tools are out there, and you'll get instant feedback (usually quite harsh) about how good your ideas are. Nothing will make you more happy than seeing your mod or level out there getting used because it's fun.

Try it with Star Craft 2! It just came out!

Update: The file that I downloaded didn't work, it said that it was corrupted, unstable, or sized wrong.
