[Private Plot] The Last War

[Quinsar]

In the world of Verenoth an explosion of technology has lead into a new age of peace. Or so everyone though. With the invention of guns groups of people began to believe that anything magic or gods could do, technology could do better. Over time they formed a small, technology based nation on a group of islands off the mainland. They called it Talia. Two years ago, a war started. Talian forces struck the mainland with great force, and left an unprepared populace easily defeated in their wake. Soon, the forces of the gods organized, and began to push them back. Today, the enemy stands almost defeated, huddled against weak barricades and trenches where this war began.

The players start here. This is there first battle of the war,a s they have just finished training. They're in the first mages brigade, under the service of Arashi, the blood god. They have light red robes, and anything they need for their low level spells.
Right now, they sit in a war room, a general going over maps of the battlefield.

[Viera Champion]

Leicia Frezant is there. She sighs, th people around her shivering from the aura of cold she lets off.

[Volug]

A little character backstory before I start... Not really backstory but... Blah, you'll see.

Rurik Adleburn

A mage who has trained mostly in hexes and chaotic magic. He originally did so he could best any sort of mage he went up against. The magic he studied would eventually be quite affective against mages he went up against with his illusions and mind targeting spells. When the war came up, he still hasn't master much concerning it and only has recently focused more on illusions and chaotic magic.

Not one of high skill, but the path he's starting on could end to make him quite formidable.

He also has looked somewhat into acting, and tries to make witty comments on occasion. He fails formidably at this however.

Rurik will be sitting down if there is a place to sit. If he is forced to stand he'll be mumbling about how his feet hurt quietly. He'll listen and shutup once the general starts talking.

[Quinsar]

There's three hundred netted between this village an the beach they're hloled up on. In those two hundred meters ar pile and swords men are open to their fire. Your jobb will be to break open the front line of the enemies before we get there. Our intelligence indicates they have a secret weapon, so watch out for that.

This is it boys! We win this and we send them back to their money islands!
Report back to your party's dorms for supper.

[Volug]

Rurik will raise his eyes at the sound of a "secret weapon", his expression turns into a smile as he mentions supper. He hopes it's not mystery meat or any other nasties.

I also take it he and Leicia are in the same "party" right?

[Viera Champion]

Leicia nods.
Secret weapon huh?

[Quinsar]

They are in the same party! Party 4.
They're getting a new Partly leader today.
They're in bunk seven.


note on techology level of the enemy: In war they have developed guns capable of single shot, bolt action. No tanks, no machine guns, no planes. They do have shotguns.

[Volug]

Blunderbuss shotguns? :D

Rurik will step away from the meeting table and go to his dorm, one hand in his pocket.

[Viera Champion]

Leicia walks up beside him.

[Quinsar]

Sort of, yes.
They're room is a an old abandoned brothel. It's pry now. But there a nice beds, even if the lower levels are burnt.
Out front is standing a... New Mage. Probably their party leader.

[Volug]

Rurik will step up and offer the new mage a handshake.

Haven't seen you here yet, my name's Rurik.

He keeps up a slightly goofy smile.

[Quinsar]

He's a tall, Elven man. He has brown hair and green eye.
Judibg by thins on his uniform he's a first lieutenant, named Windal. He's a summoner.
Hello. I'm Windal, I'm the new squadleader. Nice to meet you.

[Volug]

The pleasure's mine. Is there... Going to be another meeting here before dinner? Duties? Or such?

I'm ah... Well I'm not sure what my specialization title would be. I've been getting into some hexes, illusion magic, and some chaotic ones as well.

[Viera Champion]

Leicia just frowns and looks at the new guy.

[Quinsar]

Just fod then sleep.
But we are..
Double bunking, a group of paladins* have occupied the top floor.
And you are?
He looks at Leicia.




*Paladins in this universe aren't holy warriors, they're special higly trained units of a certain god. THey can be mages, warriors, clerics, anything.

[Viera Champion]

Leicia. Ice Mage. People tell me my personality matches my powers.

[Volug]

Rurik will blink, twice.

Double bunking? I... Actually I don't think I'd sleep on the floor in this sort of place.

[Quinsar]

Yes. Now hurry in. I hear the chef is making grilled chicken and roast potatoes b

[Viera Champion]

She's a vegetarian. So she'll just eat da potatoes.

[Volug]

Rurik will have both, occasionally glancing up at random people in his "party".

Leicia forces a smile back at him.

[Quinsar]

They're both really good. The chef was nice ad made Leica a special salad.

[Volug]

That was a lot better then I was first expecting.

He's finished with his dinner.

[Viera Champion]

Leicia smiles for real this time.
I can always count on the chef.

[Quinsar]

The paladins ar eating nearby. They have steaks. And beer.

[Volug]

Rurik tries to not pay much attention to the paladins. He just... Doesn't want to bother with them right now. He'll stand up and go to the door.

If Leicia does at the same time, he'll offer his hand for a handshake and such.

[Viera Champion]

Leicia accepts the handshake, then heads over to the paladins, interested in them.

[Volug]

He almost opens his mouth to talk... Then sees her walk away... Oh well... He'll head to the dorms.

[Quinsar]

The paladins wear light red leather armor, and make a good deal of nois.

[Viera Champion]

She pulls up a chair and sits down silent.

[Quinsar]

One looks at her. A human cleric.
Hello child of Arashi.

[Viera Champion]

She looks back.
Hello.

[Quinsar]

What is your name?

[Viera Champion]

Leicia. And you?

[Quinsar]

I am Jar. It is nice to meet you.
May Arahi bless you.

[Viera Champion]

Leicia nods.

[Quinsar]

Would you like a drink?

[Viera Champion]

Yes please. Non-alcoholic, and more ice than liquid.

[Quinsar]

A drink is delivered to her! Ust what she asked for.

So tell me about yourself.

[Quinsar]

I'm a man devoted to Arashi.

[Volug]

Rurik will be looking for a good bed... If there's anything else. Otherwise he'd fall asleep right there. Alternatively, something on Demi plane.

[Viera Champion]

I would've never guessed.
She says with bored sarcasm.

[Quinsar]

There's an empty bed. It marked with names.
Rurik and Leicia.




You should sleep. Soon there will be battle.

[Volug]

His mind rewinds a little while back... Almost literally, to the point where he hears Leicia introduce herself to the party leader.

How big is the bed? His main concern is how uncomfortable it would be for her to sleep with a guy she just met, er... Sleep as in actually sleep not... nevermind.

[Quinsar]

It's king six. Brothels have big beds.

[Viera Champion]

He nods and heads to her... Place. She doesn't mind sleeping with a guy at all.

[Volug]

By that time he's sitting on one end of the bed reading a random book, one focusing on magic studies of course.

[Quinsar]

They can interat a bit.

[Volug]

He'll turn towards Leicia, behind him, still with the book in his hand.

Pleased to meet you again, Miss.

[Viera Champion]

Leicia begins to strip right there so she can change into her night clothes. She looks at him, mid-changing.
Nice to meet you too.

[Volug]

He'll go back to his book, so he doesn't accidentally stare.

She gets her night gown on again, and sits down on the bed.
Yep.
And I mist deadtime already. Sorry.

Just "yup"? Hm... Well I'm not sure how exactly this will go, I want to say easy however I haven't really seen any of their weapons yet so I can't form an opinion on that. Magic itself can do pretty much anything however.

[Viera Champion]

She looks over at him.
Those fools created technology that couldn't even do as much as the lowest Mage. They can't do anything to us.

[Volug]

Maybe it's just me overestimating everything. My name is Rurik by the way, I see I failed to properly introduce myself.

[Viera Champion]

Leicia. I guess we're partners now.

[Volug]

That we are.

He smiles and shuts his book.

[Viera Champion]

You might want to get some extra blankets. Sleeping with me will be cold.

[Volug]

He blinks.
I'll see if I can do that then.

[Viera Champion]

She nods.
ProbabLy a good idea.

[Volug]

He'll try to get more blankets and head off to sleep afterwords.

[Viera Champion]

She goes beddy bye too.

[Quinsar]

They'll be awoken in about four hours, by there part leader.
Get up you two.
It's time.

[Volug]

He'll sit up rubbing his eyes. He's starting to get used to being woken up. He'll quickly get dressed.

[Viera Champion]

Leicia is already awake.

[Quinsar]

The rest of their part is getting assembled outside.

[Volug]

Rurik will go out to meet them when he's ready, he's also carrying a spell book. (Which he'll need if he has to cast one of the more tougher spells for him).

[Viera Champion]

Leicia heads outside with him. She carries her frost staff that she needs for any spells not ice related.

[Quinsar]

Pikemen and swordsmen are assembled in front of them, ready to charge.
There's a strange...
Whirring sound coming from enemy lines.
Okay men, and lady.
We're going to be launching as large of spells at them as we can, trying to break open their defences.

[Volug]

Rurik is already currently casting a blurred vision spell, it'll take a moment for him to cast it though. He'll aim it at the gun-men if any are visible. All it does is well, blur their vision so they become very in-accurate.

[Viera Champion]

Leicia blows out a puff of breath, and it freezes into a protective ice wall in front of her and Rurik.

[Quinsar]

Soldiers are ducked in the trench. Mire whirring.



A horn blows, signaling the charge.
First there is several shots from single shot rifles.
Several of the now charging soldiers fall. The whirring is louder.

[Volug]

Rurik cast's the vision bluring spell on the riflemen. Then sets to work on a chaos storm, which again will take just as long to cast. As in, next post.

[Viera Champion]

Leicia blows another puff of icey breath. This one sends spikes of ice at the soldiers.

[Quinsar]

They are blurred, but the harmful magic doesn't seem to be makin much of a dent.
The whirring suddenly stops, then there is several loud bangs and several continuous bullets begin to rip through the soldiers.
It seems the technoscientists have developed a machine gun, and it us destroying the magic infantry.

[Viera Champion]

Leicia frowns. She aims at the machine gun, and let's a blast of magic at it. Trying to freeze it up so it won't work anymore.

[Volug]

Rurik casts his chaos storm into a group of enemies. It'll just damage guys in an area, it'll hurt yes, but not a whole lot, the biggest deal is that it will suck energy from them too. It'll last for 10 seconds, and they can get away from it.

Think you can take care of that big thing they have?

[Quinsar]

The ice freezes it, bit the heat from firing quickly lets it fire again.
Another machine gun begins to fire... Then another.
Magic Men are falling in huge numbers.


The storm disables a small group.

[Viera Champion]

She sighs.
I can try, but I'll need to get closer. Can you cover me?

[Volug]

Stay out of the line of fire, can't protect you from a stray bullet.

He'll use an illusion enchantment spell on Leicia. Which will distort everyone's vision around her to make her 97% invisible, kinda like the Predator.

[Quinsar]

She is made invisible!
More machine guns are starting up.
Six now...

[Viera Champion]

She nods, and begins crawling over to the nearest machine gun. Invisible!

[Volug]

Rurik has to concentrate on the enchantments to keep Leicia mostly invisible. He'll be behind some cover as he continues the spell.

Anyone in the mood for the Demi plane? We can start up the new Mansion thingie as well whenever.

She can advance on a gun.
About six men are manning the alrge gun.
