Quick question. I was reading the description for the Metamagic School Focus feat (I think it's in Complete Mage ) and found myself very confused. It says that the only prerequisites for the feat are Spell Focus or school specialization. Does that mean that a character needn't have a metamagic feat in order to make use of Metamagic School Focus? Or must a character have a metamagic feat in order to apply metamagic to a spell, in which case MSF merely reduces the cost of the application of the metamagic granted by the feat?

I don't think you're allowed to link to sites that use non-OGL material, due to that being illegal. I think you have to have a specific metamagic feat to use this on it.

He's right. You don't need a MM feat to TAKE MMSF, but you DO need a MM feat to USE MMSF.

And there are even (rare) cases where you would want to take the MSF feat even while you don't yet have any metamagic feats -- for example, if you will soon get a metamagic feat as a class feature, and want to be able to use it with MSF right away.

I wonder if you can heighten the same spell three times using this feat if you have both feats of course.

No, you can't.
