Welcome to Elm StreetITP! A free-form roleplaying experience based on the Nightmare on Elm Street series (particularly part 3).

It's 1999 and once again, sleepy suburban town of Springwood is revisited by the abhorred Freddy Krueger, stalking the most recent batch who have entered the town since his last appearance. The adults all want to sweep Freddy under the rug, close their eyes and hope he goes away but as more kids drop like flies a small group of them band together.

This group, called the Dream Champions battle an increasingly powerful Krueger in his own realm using their vast array of Dream powers. But Freddy is a crafty guy... perhaps even the Dream Champions aren't immune!

Rules:
1. No godmodding, of other PCs or Freddy (controlled by me for the time being)
2. Remember to include if your character is awake or asleep at the top of a post
3. Be sure you have an approved character posted on the above thread
4. Respect other players, your chracters are allowed to disrespect other characters in-game but in the real world, try to keep it civil
5. Don't fall asleep!

They're just like superpowers, except they only work in dreams. Pretty simple really.

What X2 said. We accept powers on a general basis, though the power level in the last game ranged from something so simple and unpowerful as creating telekenetic shields (my character's power) to being able to summon such things as the vorpal sword and the Jabberwocky just by reading Lewis Carol's the Jabberwock, and other poems.

Can I have telekinesis? Pyrokinesis is prettier but it's either too powerful or not very useful, sometimes both.

Telekinesis gives me so many fun opportunities :smallbiggrin:

It's not telekinesis! It's weird puppety controlly stuff! He can't, say, pick up something with it.
If you think it's too similar and you want telekinesis, I'll change it. You posted your desire for telekinesis first, after all.:smallbiggrin:

Gender: Male
Age: 14
Equipment: Pointy stick and plush bunny
Appearance: Lukas is relatively short with jet black hair and amber eyes. He tends to wear mostly black, contradicting completely with his personality.
Dream Power: Lukas can transform into any animal between the size of a golden retriever and that of a mouse, he retains his human intellect but only few forms allow for speak.
Skills: Fast reader, excellent balance and good at getting around where he shouldn't.
Other: Very curious and easily distracted.

Comments? Harsh criticism?


Hm... do you guys have any ideas for dream powers concerning books, but not too similar to that other character's' dream power? (The jabberwock thing..)

Getting the skills of the main character? Summoning a construct made of pages that has the shape and skills of a character? Mind reading? Animated books?

Actually, the Jabberwock porn was actually "able to make any passage of text become real by reading it".

I still remember Quuiiinnttoonnn! But I'm gonna expand his power to be more than just telekenetic shields, maybe shooting telekentic spikes. That good stuff. And um X2? Could you play Freddy again. I'm horrible with villains.

In this one though, Quinton will be the original who gets to find and bring everyone's starting characters to help him.

Gender Male
Age 18
Equipment Two flick knives
Appearance Shady stands at 6' 1". He has pale skin and short blonde hair. His attire usually consists of a tough guy leather jacket, torn jeans and sneakers that have obviously seen better days. He has an eagle tattoo on his right shoulder and a jagged scar on his torso from one of his fights.
Dream Power Shady can summon any handheld weapon he can imagine into the game. The catch is he can only summon one at a time and if he doesnt know how to properly use the weapon in real life he does not know how to use it in his dreams.
Skills What Shady lacks in intelligence he makes up for in physical prowess. He is a terrific fighter either with his knives or hand to hand. He also has a pretty good understanding of most of Springwood's slums and back alleys (where he spends most of his time).
Other Despite his appearance and tendancy to get into fights Shady is not as agressive as some would have you believe. He is laid back and mellow to the point where has been described as 'the laziest kid in all of Springwood'. He rarely attends school.

Gender: Female
Age: 15
Equipment: Book bag, with a copy each of The Wizard of Oz, all three Lord of the Rings books, The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, and Prince Caspian.
Appearance: Julia has long and wavy brown hair, usually tied back in a ponytail. She has dark green eyes, and usually wears jeans and a brown sweater, with an emerald necklace hanging from her neck.
Dream Power: To activate her dream power, she must merely speak a passage aloud and touch a printed word for pages to fly out of the book, forming themselves into whatever the word described. For example, say Julia read a passage from the Wizard of Oz involving the Flying Monkeys, and touches the words "Flying Monkeys", several pages will fly out of the book and form themselves into a few flying monkeys, which act like they would in the book. Also, even though they are made of paper, they are as dense and hard to defeat as the creature they are based off. To kill a paper-creature, one must kill it in a way that would kill the creature from the book; one cannot simply swat the creature and expect it to dissolve. Once the creature is killed, the pages fly back into the book.
Skills: Julia is very intelligent and witty, and only likes to use her Dream Power when necessary. She is a fast reader, and can enunciate words well; things that her power would be useless without.
Other: Julia is a bit of a pacifist and doesn't carry any weapons with her besides a pocketknife.

Fine, fine. I'm willing to join in this, but I'm using the same powers as my last character. Maybe with a little extra oomph.

Appearance: Short, brown hair, light skin, one or two freckles, and brown eyes. About 6'1", and thin.
Equipment: A pair of retro-black sunglasses (think John Lennon), a guitar, and flowers in his hair.
Powers: The ability to turn into a moose. That can fly.
Skills: Good at playing the tambourine, but not the guitar. Also can drive pretty well. Is adept with machinery, though his appearance might not signify it.
Other: A fan of Earth, Wind, and Fire, Parliment, and The Beatles.

Dream Power: Telekenetic shields. He can also create platforms, walls, etc. Obviously, as more and more damage is inflicted upon the shield the harder it is to keep up yadda yadda yadda
Skills: He is awesome when it comes to throwing cards
Other: Founder of the dream team and "leader" etc.

Ok, we're gonna start soon, and when we do, none of your characters will know what's going on, they won't know they're are dreaming i the beginning, it is up to you whether or not the believe Freddy is a myth, but none of them will have seen him before. Yeah, in the beginning, Quinton will be the only one who really knows anything.


Um, when X2 isn't on, I'll RP Freddy. I'll also RP his first appearance no matter what.

Powers: An ability to conjure explosions, varying in color, severity but never bigger than a firecracker. It is shot as a compacted burst of light.
