Sailing rules? [3.5]

Are there any comprehensive rules for how to sail a boat? And if so, what book are they in? I intend to have 2 PCs sail a small boat, but don't know how to go about it without simply asking them to make Profession (Sailor) checks.

Stormwrack has a lot of stuff on winds, speeds, water hazards, etc- probably the best 3.5 source.

Profession (sailor) checks do play a part though.
