Jagged Alliance 2 is a tactical role playing game in which you recruit some mercenaries and liberate the country Arulco. Sounds simple enough, right ? Well, we'll see !

Disclaimer: My voice sucks so much ass, please bear with it. After all, you are the ones who requested comments...

Hum, never played this before, so should be interesting to observe.

(Needs a lot higher video quality, though.)

Booyah. If this doesn't get going I'm making my own LP of JA2; the game really deserves it and offers a lot of possibilities for LPing. Go for it!

Why not 1.13???

Well, because i have 2 copies of Jagged Alliance 2, and 0 copies of Jagged Alliance 2 Gold version. And it costs 20 euros on Steam, money I dont have unfortunately.

1.13 would have been awesome to LP. Unlimited custom mercs meant viewers could make their own mercs. Plus, so many gun versions for the truly gun obsessed people

BTW, do you guys want me to comment on the game while playing it ?

Yeah, I was messing around with different recording settings to find out the best quality to record it. The game apparently is stuck on an 800X600 resolution so that might cause some issues, but hopefully Movie Maker will be able to fix it into a nice 16:9 format to be viewed on YouTube.

You can check out these 2 videos which use the settings that I think look the best. Also, you get a preview of what game modes I selected...

Quality test 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sYUfRLiQCA)

Edit: for some reason, the second one still shows up blurry on YouTube. Halp ?

Edit2: Never mind, it took a while to process the video. The 480 option fixes the quality of the image.

Yeah, those videos look pretty good, even at 480p. Should go well.

(Also, commentary? Definitely.)

Well fine, commentary is a go. I must warn you though, my voice is kinda awful and I have a big problem pronouncing R's.

Until tomorrow, check out this awesome video of Shadow pwning everybody all alone: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_A7DnriBeGA&feature=related

For a Let's Play, Red simply must be on the team.

So should Igor and/or Ivan.

Yeah, I'll recruit him, but after getting Drassen. Barry will do as an explosive expert until then...

So should Igor and/or Ivan.

Igor is most certainly in the first team. His uncle will most surely join up as soon as the cash'll start rolling in.

True dat. Ice and Magic, the dream team.

Edit: And we started ! This is the game's intro. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8rf34JPcPQ) Next time, will do a psicology profiling to determine what mental problems my in-game ass kicker suffers from and recruit a couple of walking killing machines to help us kill stuff.

Barry *and* Igor, eh? Reminds me of the time I played Team Sacrifice -- in other words, hire as many mercs as possible for one week, starting with the cheapest, and try to conquer Drassen and get enough money from its mine to pay to re-hire everyone.

MD was the biggest liability of the bunch -- and next to low-level Ira, that was certainly saying something. She got better, though (If memory serves, she has somewhere in the region of 80 Wisdom, meaning she becomes a monster faster than almost every other merc), while I think I left him training militia in Drassen where his terrible aim -- or was it my terrible luck? -- couldn't sabotage any more raids.

Are you going for any specific psychiatric result -- and special skills -- ahead of time, or just picking what looks good?

Well, I heard that the best cure for romanian dictators are romanian gun slinging psychopaths...so I'll aim for that

But also don't forget to explain things for those of us who haven't played this game. :smallwink:

If Bayar doesn't explain something you want to know about, just ask and the rest of us can answer your question.

At least the plot's easy enough to understand. It's just a backdrop for the real stars of the show -- the characters, and how much they hate one another and gleefully take any chance they get to "miss" a shot and end up "accidentally" putting a bullet through a teammate's skull.

Or at least, that's how it seems whenever I put certain characters together -- like Biff and *anybody*.
