View Full Version : [3.5] Custom Spell needs a level

My DM and I came up with this spell, but we cannot decide on a level. I said 2nd or 3rd because it can only affect allies and has a limited application. He said 5th or 6th because, according to him, it's more powerful than Dimension Door and Teleport. We both decided to throw it to the Playground for advice. What do you guys (and gals) think? If it is unclear, let me know and I will reword it.

Tactical Insertion
Conjuration (Teleportation)
Level: Sor/Wiz X
Components: V, M
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: (10 ft./level)
Target: Designated allies within range (1/caster level)
Duration: Instantaneous or 1 round/2 caster levels
Saving Throw: Harmless
Spell Resistance: Harmless

You can designate up to one ally per caster level to ready a charge attack against a foe of your choosing. Either instantaneously, or within 1 round per 2 caster levels (caster's choice), the target is teleported within 10 ft per caster level of the caster. If the target is unable to make the charge attack at that time, the spell fails. The target can remain outside the range of the spell after the initial casting without repercussions.
