I was going to be a Barbarian, but another member of my party is being a Barbarian and I don't want to step on his toes. I'm leaning towards Ranger, but any other suggestions people have are most welcome, or ideas of how to play a good Darfellan Ranger. We are a low-optimisation group, and will probably be starting at around ECL 4.

Since they have appropriate stats and a bite attack, Darfellans make good Totemists.

Do you have a link to Totemist? I can't recall what they're like.

Basically, like a Druid/Barb (except not a caster).

My DM isn't allowing Magic of Incarnum stuff, unfortunately.

Have a Handbook (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=2943.0). If you want to kill stuff with your bare hands/teeth/claws/spines, you'll like Totemist.

What about a binder (Tome of Magic) or shameless plug playtest my druid rewrite (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=164574)?

I like the Druid rewrite, and I'm going to suggest it to a friend of mine who was thinking about playing Spirit Shaman, but neither Binder nor the Druid fit, I don't think.

neither Binder nor the Druid fit, I don't think.Fit what? You might want to tell us what you are looking for in the class, otherwise we'll just be playing battleship.

(I'll shoot to Psywarr.)
