Minor continuity mistake

hey, i was just reading through some of the recent comics, and i noticed something. i don't know if this has been brought up before, but in strip 724 http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0724.html Gannji and Tarquin agree on the amount of 8 thousand to be paid for the bounty. but then later in strip 735 http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0735.html Gannji says that 12 thousand gold was exchanged. This is pretty minor, i know, but still a continuity error. has this been brought up before? if so, what was the explanation, if any?

It's all too possible that Gannji left the room and told Kilkil that the false-bounty compensation was settled at 12k without Tarquin there to tell Kilkil himself. When Tarquin found out, he told Kilkil to "conveniently lose the documents."

Nooo, the 8 was just for the expenses. They didn't actually capture Nale and co., so they don't get the bounty. Read 724 again.

Gannji is just trying to get more money at the courts.

No, he’s quite intelligent. And that’s a not-all-that-uncommon trick. Particularly for one that has used bluffs like Gannji has. I think it’s definitely the sort of thing he’d do (and probably has done in the past).

I'd say it's a continuity mistake. Happens to all authors sometimes.

Its clearly NOT a continuity mistake. The deal was for 8,000 but Ganjii tries to get 12,000 out of it later when KilKil loses the documents. Ganjii is a trickster. He isn't remembering wrong; he's being dishonest. Its a subtle joke but not a continuity error.
