Yes, he is just as obsessed with sword fighting as his father was. But Jason definately doesn't approve of Joel's habits, but he won't tell Joel why. In fact, Joel has no idea that his dad was a bada**. Jason tried to keep it on the downlow after he retired and the kids started to grow up.
Anyways, Joel yawns and wakes up, pulling himself off the bench and walking towards the beach. Note, he's about 13.

Y'see, my dad told me this story once of a guy named Morgan. Apparently he had been a real jerk to your mom, and when you were born, he promised he'd do everything in his power to protect you. But after your mom died he just... dissapeared. Pretty out there, huh?

If he continues at this rate, he'll be as good as his father was at the peak of his ability, if not better, by the time he's 19.
