This discussion began over in the Iron Chef Optimization Challenge X thread.

For those not familiar: the Disciples of Legend are an organization introduced in Complete Champion. The are a group dedicated to studying the Six from Shadow, a disparate group of adventurers who stood together to battle Tharizdun, as well as other threats.

Just on a tangent, has anyone ever had a crack at statting out the Six in Shadow (Dardallion = Rogue, Imdastri = Cleric, Ktolmagne = Wizard, Orsos = Ranger, Raikhardt = Marshal, Sunyarta = Fighter)? AFB at the moment, but wasn't their fluff kinda linked to Greyhawk?

Tharizdun is a Greyhawk deity, unless I misremember, so that would make sense.

It'd be tough to stat them out in any way that claims to be accurate, though, since a group of people powerful enough to survive an encounter with a god but weak enough that they couldn't save the literally thousands of others that went in belongs to a very precise power band.

He's also in Lords of Madness as an Elder Evil

Couldn't save them...or chose not to...

And the gods they worshipped are hidden...perhaps because they were all actually servants of the Burning Hate! :smalleek::smallbiggrin:

Off the top of my mind:

Imdastri is supposed to have the Luck, Protection and Strength domains, but those rarely combine. Bahamut, Kord, and St. Cuthbert provide at least two of the three deities, but the fact that Imdastri has three domains means Imdastri must have gotten the third somewhere else. No Knowledge and focus on defense and strength means Imdastri couldn't have been a cloistered cleric, though perhaps a Contemplative might work. Given the Luck domain, Imdastri must be at least Chaotic, though Bahamut provides the Luck domain while being a lawful deity, so there's no specific focus. Of course, given their battle, and his domains, Imdastri couldn't have worshipped Tharizdun by any means. Probably NG or CG, given that the title of Imdastri is "of the Heavens", which would seem wrong for an Evil character.

Ktolemagne definitely was a Diviner. The ability to replace one spell to a diviner spell kinda focuses on that. As for which race...dunno.

Orsos definitely has at least 5 levels of ranger, since he had aberrations and chaotic outsiders. That would mean Orsos wasn't a chaotic character, through he might have been non-good either. The increase in speed and the casting ability quite probably made Orsos part-druid, perhaps a few levels to strengthen the animal companion and get the spells. 9 would be reasonable, since Orsos gets Air Walk. Yet, Ranger 5/Druid 9 does not make a focus on Ranger, and pure Ranger doesn't get Air Walk, so probably pure Ranger 10 with Air Devotion?

Reikhardt sounds to me like a Marshal 7/Bard X, likely because of his inspire courage and inspire greatness abilities. Notice that two of the builds in here have Marshal and Bard mixed (Geoffrey and Sandhya), and the class has some spellcasting progression. Quite probably Bard 7 or 10, since you need that to get Inspire Greatness and Dominate Person. However, that would make his Bard levels greater than his Marshal levels, and that isn't a choice. The Marshal 7/Bard 7 is a throwback to one of the various archetypes from the Dungeon Master's Guide II, specifically the Mastermind.

Sunyartra...sounds to me like a Dungeon Crasher Fighter with Inspire Courage. While Sunyartra sounds like a half-orc or savage creature given the description, she sounds to me a bit more like a half-giant.

As for Dardallion....quite a hard choice. Blink and Greater Invisibility would suggest a few levels in magic and Arcane Trickster, or perhaps a Gnome (to fill the idea of illusion magic) who had a high UMD check. Then again, the Blinking, Invisibility and Etherealness probably really meant a Hide check of "I'm not here, not even a box", so the abilities may be actually exaggerations of the actual ability of the character.

Aside from that...no idea whatsoever. Maybe they're pure characters, around level 10-11 much like Order of the Stick, and the abilities you get are exaggerations of the abilities they got?

I would've posted this up sooner, but been unable to get on-line for a couple of days...modem/router issues...

Orsos would probably have a few Abolisher levels (LOM)

Ktolemagne Focused Specialist Diviner, Master Specialist, Unseen Seer.

Unseen Seer would imply Ktolemagne was more stealthy, which I don't think is the case. Focused Specialist Diviner/Master Diviner fits, as would perhaps some Loremaster.

Sunyarta sounds to me like s/he'd be Goliath Fighter/Barbarian, with the Goliath Barbarian substitution levels, at least the first for Mountain Rage.

Beyond that, I think Oskar and WinWin are on the right track.
