I'm debating swapping out Improved Familiar, but like the idea of rockin' a bad-arse Imp. (That's my goal.) I'll truly be coming at either level 9 or 10 as well. As far as my Domains, I'm thinking Gain: Divination, Lose: Enchantment.

Any thoughts or tweaks?

Thanks all for the help.

-J.

EDIT: Forgot to finish my train of thought on the Improved Familiar. I'd swap it out for Deadeye Shot and fill my missing early level feat w/ Point Blank Shot.

Extend Spell > Persistant Spell is a pretty good investment for USS type characters. A lot of your really good buffs are 1st and 2nd level like Hunter's Eye, Cloud of Knives, Sniper's Shot, etc. Being able to persist a few of them as 7th-8th level slots is a HUGE boost to your action economy.

Also, if you are gonna focus on SWSed Fireballs, I'd recommend Split Ray. Double damage for a +2 MM adjustment!

I was thinking of doing Extend Spell/Persist Spell as well. And Split Ray is indeed in there. ;)

Oi! My bad. Yea, there it is. I glazed over it. Try using the {table] tags to make things easier to read! :smallcool:

There are halfling wizard substitution levels in Dragon Magazine 337 you may want to check out.

At wizard level 3 you can learn a 1st level spell from any class list, and treat it as a 2nd level spell if its not on the wizard list.... in place of learning two wizard spells as normal for that level.

I personally am a big fan of Spellthief over Rogue. Useen Seer also gives you more bang for your buck than Spellwarp Sniper, but the Sniper is a feasible capstone. Not my personal pick, but that's neither here nor there.

Build stub would be Spellthief 1/Wizard 4/USS 10/Filler 5, where Filler 5 is your pick of Abjurant Champion, Arcane Trickster, and Spellwarp Sniper, depending on what you want. If you go melee, you'll want Hunter's Eye, Healer's Vision, and Grave Strike for your divination spells from USS's Advanced Learnings. Actually, you'll probably want those three spells even if you stick to ranged, too.

For feats, Persistent Spell is a gimme. Craven is also solid for moar sneak attack. Master Spellthief also bypasses the penalty to non-divination spells by setting your CL to Spellthief+Arcane Class levels after the penalty. If Dragon is on the table, Easy Metamagic might be worth it for easing Persistent Spell. Two-Weapon Fighting may be worth it, but you can honestly just grab that entire feat tree with Heroics at later levels.

School specialization should be conjuration for abrupt jaunt, acid splash'd sneak attacks, and dex-denial.
