It appears to be a plain old arena, once. However, a garden has completely overrun it. In the middle of the arena, opposite Argus, is a coalescence of shadows, vaguely humanoid in form. It appears to wear a cloak. It giggles, as if a little girl of no more than eight, but when the figure speaks, it is with the bass of a grown man. Welcome, envoy, to my latest garden! I am The Gardener, Exarch of the Forbidden One and wielder of the strongest knights in the Forbidden One's army. Good luck, worthy foe! He giggles again.

((I know, right? :smallsigh: They're probably experimenting with ways to stop things like Frognarchs and decks that swarm quickly... but if they wanted to do that, it'd be a lot easier to make some cards to combat the Graveyard-centric metagame. I suspect that this is the reason for unbanning Chaos Sorcerer, who is a veritable counter to such decks. Of course, he'd be better with about +200 attack :smalltongue: I don't see why they unrestricted Black Rose as well, though. I can understand bringing Dark Hole in, since not all decks have Synchro capabilities, although most just throw in a Plaguespreader to make the most of it, but most decks will now be packing four field nukes, not counting anything that the deck in question has specifically.))

Unless you can negate the effect or the summon directly, you've just moved the field around. I didn't negate the effect, so it didn't go ahead: it's a bit like using Mystical Space Typhoon on a Dark Hole: gets rid of the card, but doesn't negate it.

OOC: Still resolves, and BRD's first effect, since it triggers at the moment of summoning, automatically takes priority after a successful synchro summon over everything except mandatory effects that would trigger at that same time (like, say, Black Garden). Book of Moon generally won't stop effects unless the effect requires the affected monster to be face-up (Chaos Sorcerer) and/or attack position (Mirror Force) at resolution.

((Well-played. I knew I was in trouble after I played Card Destruction, and I was just hoping to make time until I could draw Book of Moon. I'd had Monster Reborn in my hand for some time, but you can't resurrect stuff like Draco-Equiste. Ergo, I decided that I'd need to either draw Fabled Raven/Plaguespreader (for Black Rose Dragon) and resurrect one of my Level 5 monsters or Snipe Hunter. In retrospect, I should have kept Chaos Sorcerer in my hand and hoped for a Fabled monster for his summoning cost. As you may have noted from my bracketed complaints, if I'd have had a Mist Wurm in my Extra Deck, I could have Dark World Lightning'd Goldd, then used Monster Reborn on one of your tuners to bring up Mist Wurm, who could remove Draco-Equiste from the field.

And on your deck, I think it's fine. It, at the very least, managed to counteract my Chaos Sorcerer and bring up something much more powerful than I could counteract. Nothing jumps out at me at the moment, so if I see something, I'll keep you informed.))

((My one comment would be that you have very few Fabled monsters to supply graveyard costs for Chaos Sorcerer. Adding one or two in place of some Dark World monsters would let you get an edge in getting him out. He's a very powerful trump card, and you certainly have no issue getting DARKs into the graveyard.))

((Since most duelists seem okay with OCG decks as long as you warn em', Fabled Krus and Fabled Kushano might gel well with your deck, espcially Fabled Lurrie. For another trump monster that creates a deadly sort of lockdown with Chaos Sorcerer is Fabled Dianaira, though you need to get some Fabled on the field without synchroing them away in order to best get him out. If you're not overly concerned with being Fiend-only, The Fabled Cerburrel is amazing, being like a Dark World Light-type TUNER, but its Beast. The Fabled Catsith is also a Tuner, and provides double the destruction with Dark World Dealings.

If you absolutely must keep to TCG, I would run Lurrie at x3, at least, even though he's not amazing. At least that'll up your chances of playing Chaos Sorc. Fabled Gallabas might be good - a free (if limited) destruction with the added bonus of getting to discard a card. Though honestly, Fabled's offering are limited in the TCG.))
