There is a philosophy mentioned briefly in the 3.5 Eberron Campaign Setting that the changelings follow where changing form is also a kind of symbolic ritual. I think it's called the way of the perfect form, but I'm not sure.

Is this amoral philosophy described in better detail anywhere? Do changelings follow it in fourth edition also? Officially, I mean.

I can't speak for 4E, but Races of Ebberon has a chapter on changelings. This is what you want.

It's in races of eberron, and there isn't much on that. Reality seekers are basically changelings that are proud of their natural form and try to sport it all the time, they believe they can achieve the perfect form. When it comes to religion, they just say that reality seekers care too much about the "perfect form" to muck around with deities. Kinda like monks really.
