Long story short, really cocky ****wad DM, we need a good race for an optimized wizard, level 5, need the bitchiest spells possible. List any in-core races if possible.

Out of core, gray elf (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/elf.htm#grayElf) is good.

Ok, now what are the epic spell combinations and must-haves at level 5?

Obligatory: Talking to your DM is generally a better way of handling a disagreement than an arms race.

Nah, he just doesn't like my friend for some reason, we did talk about it but he's being kinda cocky.

2 rays of fatigue will exhaust anyone even if they pass their saves, invisibility + fly allows you to by pass many monsters/obsticles for 5 minutes, but only for you. Glitterdust is a very powerful spell.

There's only one list of spells on there, is it for both the transmuter and conjurer, or just the conjurer?

There should be 8 links. One for each school of magic.

Okedoke, thanks.

Now, the problem is that our regular DM decided to take a break for a while, and we've taken turns DMing for about a month or two each, and the one currently DMing is a quite sub-par player who makes really crappy characters, and on top of that he neither likes me nor my friend. Since it's an evil game "to take a break from the norm" with almost no story, where everyone is expected to be herp derp stupid evil for the most part (our old DM has done his best to not follow this stereotype, being a paladin of tyranny).

So anyways, my friend's a cancer mage, and he sucks at combat etc, etc. So his disease is all he has, and unfortunately the DM wouldn't let him get some diseases when he should've because "it doesn't make sense" or "I just say no" or "because he's immune and can't be a carrier", so that made his character near useless. (He wasn't allowed to contract the slaadi disease, nor lycanthropy from a werebear when he had werewolf lycanthropy.

It really upsets me that with work and school the little time I get to game that this DM makes me want to stay home instead. D&D has even been canceled for the next few weeks (Or, we can't play at the old DM's house) because he more than likely is sick of the game.

If you find that you don't want to game, don't. If you can't work out your problems with the DM, tell the group that you'll be taking a break too, or just refuse to play with the problem DM as the DM.

The point of the game, after all, is to have fun. If you're not having fun, there's no point to play.
