What would you name after an OotS character? [Archive]

I've seen a few threads of Elan (insert thing here), which has led me to wonder:

If you could name something (Business, Craft, Sports play, Maneuver, Animal, whatever) after a character in OotS, what would you name, and after who? Also, why ('for the lulz' is generally assumed) if you have any specific reason.

Me, I'd name a library after Vaarsuvius. :smallbiggrin:

I would name a black hole after the Snarl and give a very weird organism a name like Monsterus darkness.

I'm thinking mostly celestial objects. Planetoids with a binary orbit would be Elan and Nale, and the star they orbit would be Tarquin. Elan's satellites would be Banjo, Giggles, Banjhulu, Mr. Lute, etc. and Nale's would be LG members.

The Dark One and Monster-san could also be decent black holes. Oh and a nearby red dwarf called Redcloak. And a white dwarf called Durkon Thundershield! The possibilities are endless!

If I had a mustang, I'd name it Roy. I think a hamster named Belkar would be pretty cute.

We could rename 'filibustering' as 'The Vaarsuvius'.

filibuster (noun)
- an exceptionally long speech, as one lasting for a day or days, or a series of such speeches to accomplish this purpose.

I've already named some things after OOTS characters, in a way. For example, my house is held together with Nales, and in spring, the yard occasionally gets Haley.

Although if you're talking about having a likely analog in real life that is not difficult to find an example of, then I'd probably say that Elan's relationship with his mother would qualify. Also Vaarsuvius and his/her parents (took V camping as a kid, which V hated).
