I'm still on the road, and probably won't have much time to dwell on the interwebz, but I did want to stop in and announce to my Playground friends that I...I...

I got engaged to my beloved last night! :biggrin:

I want to thank everyone who's stopped by to share their good wishes with myself and my future bride. Just a few things, however, that are somewhat important in our future wedding:

1. Serpie seems to think this engagement has happened rather quickly. My beloved and I feel the same way, and there would seem to be some rather important things that need to happen before being wed. Thus, we won't even be setting a date for a few years. We've been running toward this moment at insane speeds. Now we slam the brakes on and get our lives in order...so that they fit together much more nicely. :smallsmile:

2: I would love to invite the entire Playground to the blessed event, but after the "trauma" of her best friend's wedding, my beloved continues to shout, "WE'RE ELOPING!" Mayhap we can arrange for a roving reception, in which we wander some of the country to meet up with my many long-distance friends. :smallsmile:

3: To those who complimented my blog post, I'm so glad you feel that way, despite the many typos. :smallredface: That said, my current sentiment is that the other engagements in my life - no, this is not the first - were all too small and private. My hope is that by making such big plans to ask, and then doing so in public...during someone's wedding...with so many witnesses...will break my curse and make this the one that actually works.

4: And to any who plan on ever asking someone of significance to marry them, I highly suggest trying to set up that movie moment. Because when it works...it becomes a moment you will NEVER forget! :smallwink:

We're still on the road. Typing from motels makes me feel a bit..."oogy." I'll be typing from my own home come the 1st. Then I'll be able to commit to individualized responses. :smallsmile:
