Mighty Playground, I beseech thy aid!

I'm going to be going steampunk for halloween. I've picked up a vest, trousers, and I've got a steampunk styled "firearm," but to complete the look I need some further components. Have you any suggestions where I can find decent aviator goggles, tophat, bootss, and coat (with coattails)?

My boyfriend's been getting pretty heavy into Steampunk of late and he found some good websites that sell steampunk items. When I see him tonight, I'll get you some links. :)

Legitimate top hats can get quite expensive, unfortunately, in my experience. Gentleman's Emporium has excellent things, but are often rather expensive. Such as hats (http://www.gentlemansemporium.com/store/hats.php), and coats (http://www.gentlemansemporium.com/store/coats.php) (Which are particularly expensive...I wish I was wealthy, I'd get several of these).

Also, I suggest a pocketwatch.

Okay, addendum. Assume my budget tops out at around 70 dollars total. I have been checking the salvation army and similar stores in the area, which is where I picked up much of what I've found so far. And I'm hopeful the top hat and coat may eventually make an appearance, but not sure. I'm thinking though, if anyone knows how to track down costume shops (theatrical rather than commercial) or the like on a budget, that would be handy.

Knew a guy who did this once. I believe he described himself as "clockwork phantom of the opera".

I know very little about Steampunk, but everything is made better by having a monacle/pocketwatch (ideally one with visible gears in this case).

Look into costumes of people who wore top-hats. An Abraham Lincoln costume would likely include a top hat and a coat.

Boots...I'd say keep hitting salvation army, and browse the local discount stores.

Sadly I can't suggest anything cheap, but I can throw out http://www.clockworkcouture.com/, with the only tophat I can see on it a full $35.
